  1. It's not happening brother.
  2. I just don't think Beane is going to take him because he has stated, multiple times, the importance of being able to win from the pocket. Mayfield is exciting because he is a freelancer who can make plays by improvising. That is what Tyrod was and I do not think that is what we want. Plus Mayfield is slow and really not that athletic. His style will likely not work in the NFL. I think the height is a factor, but imo, Beanes stated preference of a traditional, within the pocket drop back passer eliminates Mayfield. If you you are a small quarterback you better be a sniper as a passer ala Brees, or a ridiculous athlete like Wilson. Add in the crotch grab, height, excuses, and police stuff and you have a guy this front office is going nowhere near. They want Darnold, Rosen, or Allen and I think people should start coming to terms with that. They will not draft Baker Mayfield.
  3. I think Milano is just a little too small to play th MIKE at 223. Compton has about 10 pounds on him. The biggest thing to me, if Compton signs, when we get to nickel, Milano and Compton will be on the field, which is a huge upgrade coverage-wise over Humber and Brown. Lorax will continue to be a part time player at SAM imo.
  4. Another one of his old teammates Josh Mauro from Stanford just cut by the Cardinals. Would be an interesting fit as defensive line depth. He is one of those bigger defensive end/small tackle tweeners. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/16/cardinals-cut-josh-mauro/
  5. He will be fine. Media is full of it. He also never said he didn't want to go to Cleveland. He basically said sometimes it's ok to drop in the draft because the right fit is more important an anything. The media turned this into "he doesn't want to go to Cleveland." It's all media driven BS.
  6. There is a salary cap. One for which we have little room. So it is natural to analyze the value of a player and what sort of contract he deserves. It's intelligent conversation and the complete opposite of parrots actually. It's healthy debate.
  7. Compton seems like a guy with all of these great intangibles and has some good film playing inside in a 3-4. I'm not sure if he is big enough to play Mike in a 4-3, but he's really just a couple of pounds lighter than Luke Kuechly. He's a couple of inches shorter, so maybe a bit more stocky. He he looks very athletic on paper. Perhaps McDermott can help take his game to the next level. It's worth a shot.
  8. Curious to see if they cut Shea McClellin. Would be a nice fit here at Mike or Sam.
  9. Nice rotational DT. He's been a 3-4 guy his whole career though.
  10. I hear you. I think Brown is probably the better player but Compton probably the better fit.
  11. Guy ran a 4.52 in the 40 yard dash. Preston 4.86
  12. Larry Fitz has been playing the slot the last few years. Perhaps Mike McCoy is going to move him back outside and put Matthews in the slot? I think he is a good fit for the what they want to do and he will likely have a million catches playing with Fitzgerald.
  13. Agreed. I think he's a good depth type of guy who could maybe start for a year.
  14. Preston was a 4.86. Hes about15 pounds heavier than Compton. 4.52 is faster than Luke Keuchly. Is the better player as conpared to Preston? Not sure but i think Compton is certainly a better fit for our defense
  15. Will Compton is ab anomaly because he runs a 4.52 but it doesn’t translate to the field. I do like him though
  16. Shayne skov? but yeah the Compton thing makes sense. He has some speed but isn't great in coverage. I think he could be an ok fit in the defense.
  17. Decker did play for Terry Robiskie last year, but sure if they were a great fit. Still an ok player but needs to take a 1 year prove it
  18. I think we could see some small trades and wait for the second and third tiers of free agency. Also keep a look out for people who get released.
  19. I said that "I hope" that people come back and re-read this thread. That's all. What people were okay with and what Brown likely got are probably not closely aligned. Clearly he isn't worth nearly as much as people would have been okay with. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying.
  20. I hope those who wanted to pay him in the 4-7 million per year range on a multiyear contract come back and re-read this thread. This is how the league value dudes like Preston.
  21. Dude was all over the field against us. I was impressed. I haven't seen nearly as much of him as you, but his skill set looks like one that would succeed in our system.
  22. Marquis Flowers of the Pats...converted safety, very athletic and versatile and has some length. He played very well against us this year. Was all over the field.
  23. He's a 2 down backer, so I think we got good value. He made some plays for KC, but he will never be in against more spread formations, which makes him solely a part time player.
  24. Vea is a good player, but teams continue to get burned drafting guys like him and Danny Shelton early. I think he is going to be very good player, but I'm not sure if he's a once in a lifetime guy.
