  1. That's that 4.84 forty at work. he will be able to outrun Preston Brown and pretty much no one else.
  2. Mason Rudolph. But no actually I would say Vea. I hate drafting 2 down players early in the draft. If we didn't have Star maybe, but he would now be redundant on this roster. Or a reciever. Don't like any of them in the first that much.
  3. No idea what is going to happen, but I do like the fact that we have the guy who was being groomed to replace McDaniels if he left NE. Ultimately, I am glad that McDermott got his guy. I think it is clear that Daboll is his guy and I feel like he wanted Daboll last year as well. He never seemed all in on the Dennison decision or even Tyrod. It was just a weird time with Whaley still around etc. Daboll going to Bama was a very clever way to get out from under Belicheck and to Buffalo. I know Belicheck doesn't hold his assistants back, but to a division rival he would. Would he keep Daboll from going to work with his butt buddy Saban? No, so Daboll goes to Bama for a year knowing full well he was likely headed here after the season. Last year was the "f-it let's see what happens" year. Now Beane and Daboll are in place and they are ready to get that quarterback. The choices made in the next few weeks are going to be critical to the next 5-10 years of this franchise.
  4. I think we are fine. We need a franchise quarterback, a Mike, a receiver, and maybe a tackle(though I do like the potential of Conor McDermott). This is not a terrible roster by any means. In terms of reciever KB is so much better than he showed played hurt and with Tyrod. Jones still has more potential than a lot of the recievers in this draft. I still like him a lot. Mike is a glaring black hole and that is a problem. But I feel like we are in a great position to trade up and sacrifice picks. Our secondary and d line are really good. We have a left tackle. We have essential pieces. I still think we trade up for Rosen when it is all said and done.
  5. Of course Rudolph is going to say that. He isn't going to say "oh yeah my numbers are inflated because the defenses we played really sucked. But I did play a few games against good teams." In 2016 the two ranked teams they beat were West Virginia and Colorado. They lost to Oklahoma where Rudolph threw for just 186 yards. His stats against West Virginia were good, but not of the 400 yard variety. In 2017, he put up great numbers in losses to TCU and Oklahoma as well as a win against Virginia Tech. So a couple of ok games against tough competition and a bunch of ridiculous numbers against cream puffs like Tulsa. His numbers are inflated because the offense he plays in and the lack of competition. when you start looking at projectable NFL stuff like arm strength, foot work, he simply doesn't have it. And I don't care what anyone says, but his tiny hands are a concern.
  6. Impressive and I'm excited about McCarron...but holy crap AJ Green is just ridiculous
  7. I hear you, but do you not realize how good the Huskies were? They were right up there with Alabama, something like less than 4 yards per play or something. Like ridiculously good. I think Baker has some potential, though he did not fare well against a team like Georgia with all of that speed. I do think his numbers are inflated because of the competition, but I think his skills are projectable. I think Rudolph sucks.
  8. What can I say, I'm a sucker for Hayden Panettierre.
  9. You make some good points. You aren't taking into account Rudolph's noodle arm as compared to Allen (maybe one of the best arms ever). When you talk about physical ability, there really is no argument, but stats etc Rudolph has him there. We will see what happens, but there is a reason why Allen is projected to go in the top five and Rudolph is a day two pick who could get overdrafted in the bottom of the first. You have to take potential into account, and the high ceiling of Allen makes him far and away the better prospect.
  10. White is interesting in some ways but if we draft him in the first round I'm not sure what I'd do. He is more interesting than Rudolph though.
  11. I'm thinking I might just be really bad at faces
  12. It's a testament to what people are saying about the level of competition that these guys faced. Defense is simply not played in this conference. Somebody posted video of Josh Rosen struggling against Washington in this thread. Biggest caveat there is that the Huskies had the best defense in college football. A little different than struggling against Texas.
  13. Am I the only person that thinks he looks like the guy from "I Love you Beth Cooper"?
  14. Baker won 62-52. He threw for nearly 600 yards. Rudolph threw for 450. Nobody played any defense.
  15. Not yet but he is still a free agent. I think they are replacing him with Gaines, but if he's willing to take a minimum salary it makes sense to have him back to compete. I think was okay, but definitely got exposed in certain situations. Wright went to the Raiders I believe.
  16. Rancor! That would be pretty cool.
  17. The key thing that stands out to me there is the idea that Rosen is the most "schematically diverse" quarterback in the draft. That is huge. I believe Brandon Beane said something along the lines of coordinators come and go so you have to have a quarterback that can fit any offensive scheme. That is Rosen. People may not like his attitude and all that stuff, but he fits everything that Beane has said he wants in a quarterback to an tee. Give me Rosen and we are set for a long time.
  18. Allen has projectable talent in terms of potential success in the NFL. Their physical ability isn't even on the same stratosphere. Allen has the potential to be ridiculously good whereas Rudolph has the upside of back up/mediocre starter. That's why Allen is a first round pick and Rudolph is not. The top of the draft is about upside and projection. It isn't even close.
  19. So if we don't spend our first round pick on Mason Rudolph, we will be able to acquire Rudolph in three years for a swap of 6th rounders. That's not a bad going rate for middling quarterback prospects.
  20. That's that 4.84 right there. He's fine against Preston Brown though. So we are good if we play the Bengals.
  21. Fair enough. I definitely think we draft someone, but I don't think it makes any sense to reach on this guy. I feel like there is a huge drop off between the top 4 (I know you don't like Allen) and Jackson and Rudolph. Then there is another drop off in that next tier. My question is, is the drop off between, say Rosen, Darnold to Rudolph bigger than the drop off between Rudolph and guys like Falk, White, Lauletta. To me it is. Rudolph is much closer to that lower tier. I just can't take Rudolph in the first. I think it is terrible process and an awful use of assets.
  22. I agree as well. The problem is that Rudolph, to me, doesn't fix anything. It just adds a guy. If you are just adding a guy, why do it in the first round? I think the position only gets fixed if we get one of those top guys, otherwise we are just spinning wheels.
  23. I know you do a significant amount of study so I value your feedback. So I'll ask, how much better is he in your estimation? Does he move the needle? Is he that significant of an upgrade that we need to go and draft him the first round. To me these guys are both middle pack, possibly average to below average starters. He is not a first round talent.
  24. I understand inflation and overpaying for upside. All of those guys are clearly top 15 picks, so drafting them in the top ten is not a huge reach. Taking a 3-4th round pick at 12 is what gets people fired. Its drafting EJ Manuel in the first, its drafting Cody Kessler in the third. Its lunacy.
  25. Here is the issue....This guy is not better than AJ McCarron and his upside is pretty much the same as Nathan Peterman. He does not move the needle, so it makes no sense. His ceiling is probably something slightly below Andy Dalton and his floor is Bryce Petty. His most likely outcome is Brandon Weeden/Landry Jones. That just isn't getting it done guys. If he is there in the third, fine. This franchise needs a true, high ceiling, franchise quarterback, not some middle of the pack guy. We just got rid of one of those and have two on the roster. Darnold or Rosen. Even Allen or Mayfield. Not this guy. Even Jackson has a huge upside in comparison to Rudolph. If you aren't getting one of the top guys, don't bother. Beane strikes me as a guy who is not going to draft a quarterback just to draft one. He is not likely to overdraft a 4th round pick either.
