  1. I don't understand why he is too small and probably just a nickel. I mean he's got a few pounds on EJ Gaines and is bigger than Joe Haden and a lot of other corners. About the same size as Denzel Ward. Now obviously I understand that he doesn't have the coverage skills of Ward, but why is he a slot guy because of his size? seems like a throwaway line I keep seeing.
  2. It is one thing to have NFL bloodlines....This dude had that, plus he had an NFL recievers coach living in his house. His dad was a really good route runner and special teamer and that is how he hung around so long. Proehl is going to make this team.
  3. If he can play some special teams, I think he makes the team. Something like this seems likely in my mind. Benjamin Jones Kerley FA/Holmes/Reilly Proehl Foster Proehl backs up Kerley as a slot and Foster backs up Jones. Ray Ray to me is a special teams/WR/RB type of roster spot.
  4. He served a PED suspension last year when he was injured. This offseason Beane signed Murphy, Odigizuwa, Kerley, and Palepoi...all four had PED suspensions at one point, so I'm not sure he cares about that. I think it depends on $$$$ and if Cushing can play anymore.
  5. Appreciate the effort put in. A couple of points, imo. One of Zach Martin or DeMarcus Lawrence will hit the open market. The Cowboys cannot franchise both of them. I would love to have either and we will have the money to spend. I do not think Trent Murphy will play off the ball at all. He's really a defensive end who played some 3-4 OLB in Washington. He could play some SAM in 4-3 under looks, but that's about it. He's a defensive end. I think Milano will get some stiff competition at WILL from Julian Stanford, but I think Milano wins out. I could see some lower level depth added, possibly a vet like Karlos Dansby or a cheap lower level vet like Jordan Tripp to add depth and play special teams (Tripp was drafted by Dennis Hickey and played for Bob Babich in Jacksonville.) I could see us taking a shot on a Brian Cushing or Lawrence Timmons to ease the transition for Edmunds and to play some SAM. On the line, I still think Luke Joeckel makes a ton of sense and is clearly the best guard on the market who should come cheap at this point.
  6. His throw away line about Edmunds being an off ball linebacker is just stupid. Like is he implying we didn't get good value? Does he think teams should pass on Brian Urlacher, Ray Lewis, Luke Kuechly etc etc because they are off ball linebackers? It's dumb and lazy. I think I will go with Bob Babich's opinion on Edmunds. He developed Urlacher, Lance Briggs, Telvin Smith etc etc. I take his opinions on Edmunds much more than some dork at a computer. He also implies that McDermott has too much power which seems like a weird thing to say. What the Browns did, allowing their head coach to have zero say is dumb. I believe McDermott and Beane work hand in hand and take feedback from all of the experienced guys around him. How do all of these so called analyst get paid for this bullcrap?
  7. I think Maclin is done and I think Decker hated playing for Robiskie...not sure though. I like Seth Roberts of the Raiders. I do think some good young players will shake loose.
  8. I wanted Rosen as well, but was fine with Allen. Once I got over myself, I am able to see the appeal of Allen. I said I would be happy with any of Allen, Darnold, Rosen, and here we are. I don't delude myself into thinking I know so much more than the scouts and people in the NFL. I still think it's funny that people STILL think we should have drafted Mason Rudolph at 12 when he went in the seventies. That is people being babies because they didn't get their guy. It's irrational. All the talking heads who like our draft, like Kiper, Prisco and Matt Miller love Josh Allen...the people who hate our draft like the Sporting News think Allen is going to be a bust. It is a horrible and biased way to grade either way. Pretty much teh same thing is going on here. I'm sorry guys, but I don't give a crap that we weren't able to draft Deon Cain. I care that we got two top 15 players at teh two biggest positions of need. Is it boom or bust? Sure...but you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. We did not trade future picks and did not mortgage teh future to do what we did. What I do love about it is that they got their guy. Someone mentioned it in another thread, but the minute the Bills traded up it seems like Allen knew it was him. I believe that he was the #1 quarterback on their board and that they would have taken him at 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7....I believe that is why we heard so much chatter about them trading up to 1 and 2 early on. I really feel that they were trying to get up for Allen. Those rumors died down because they started to realize that A: Cleveland and NY were staying put, and B: they were going to be able to Allen later in the draft. I think it is great. I think the Bills had a really good draft. People who hate it, hate it because they don't like Allen, or they are mad because they didn't get their guy. It's fine if you don't like the player, but no one can argue with the process. There was a slight overpay to get up for Allen, but that's the cost of getting a quarterback. I've said it before...coming into the draft it was said that there was about 15-20 excellent players in this draft. We got two of them. What's not to like? We got a steal in the third and drafted some interesting secondary guys and a possible starter on the line who may also be a steal. Trust the process, drink the kool aid, whatever. Jump in Bills fans...this is what we call HOPE.
  9. Boettger is interesting. Former quarterback who was recruited as a tight end and has played guard and tackle,
  10. Some Bills fans are so afraid of success and having good players. They get obsessed with people like Brandon Reilly, but complain that KB sucks. Jon DiGiorgio brings his lunch pail and works his butt off, but Tremain Edmunds is so flawed. Some wish we still had Preston Brown even though he was slow as crap and one of the main reasons we lost the Jacksonville game. Many still think we should have drafted RUDOLPH! in the first, even though he went in the 70s. It's strange...it's like they don't want to be let down. Now that Tremaine is ours, some people have to poke holes in him so that they aren't let down if he struggles a bit. I've used this analogy before, but it's like dating an ugly girl instead of a hot one, because you are afraid the hot one might leave you some day. Very strange.
  11. I'd love to See Reilly push a guy like Holmes of this roster, but I don't expect much else. I do like him though.
  12. True. Benjamin and Jones are locked in. That's pretty much it.
  13. Decker just had the worst year of his career playing for Terry Robiskie and I'm not sure he loved playing for him. I think he might be done. I'm not sure Maclin has much left in the tank either. I want Seth Roberts from the Raiders. There will be some good players cut at some point and he might be one of them. However, they have to eat basically his entire salary, 4.5 million if they cut him and save that amount if they trade him. To me that means they will keep him, or trade him for basically anything.
  14. Also, if you want to get irrationally excited about someone, go look up Julian Stanford's combine numbers and look at some highlights. 4.51 and 27 bench reps. Jets fans feel he never got a fair shake. I was annoyed by his signing initially but this dude could be a sleeper.
  15. Vallejo is a really good athlete with good instincts, but he seems like a guy who doesn't have a position. I think he could play the middle if he gained 10-15 pounds, but even so I think he would be a backup. He has really short arms, so disengaging and taking on blockers might be tough. I do think he could help in sub sets, but he cannot play the Sam with his lack of length. I suppose he could compete with Milano at the Will, but I think Milano is better. Technically Vallejo is bigger and basically the same speed as Milano, but Matt just has a better frame and such. I wouldn't sleep on Vallejo contributing though.
  16. Milano is the Will and he really isnt really undersized for this defense. Edmunds will be the Mike and the simple fact that he is replacing a guy who runs a four eight six forty is a huge upgrade in itself. Edmunds may have some growing pains, but he is going to be very good. Lorax is the Sam in base sets like last year I assume. McDermott has talked up Vallejo, and Julian Stanford is a guy Jets fans said deserved a chance and never got one. In the nickel its going to be Edmunds and Milano either way. I think a cheap vet for depth might be all we need.
  17. Can I change my Dareus into a Phillips?
  18. 3 or 4 years ago we would be begging for this guy to be something big like Alex Tanner, Aaron Corp, Joe Licata, Kenny Guiton etc etc etc. It feels good to have an actual big time potential quarterback on this roster for once so I don't have to care about this guy. Defintely need an extra arm for rookie minicamp so that is good. Also this guy is going to make Josh Allen look like a hall of famer.
  19. When Karlos Dansby was here for a visit, I was very much against him coming here. Now I've changed my mind. Edmunds is a younger, better Dansby. I think he would be a great guy to come in and be a part time player. You could have Edmunds play Sam in base sets and have Dansby on the field in the middle. In the nickel, Dansby could get off the field and your two backers are Milano and Edmunds. You could still have Edmunds call the defense, but having a vet like Dansby around makes a lot of sense imo.
  20. The grades we are getting post draft are completely dependent on people's opinions on Josh Allen, which is dumb. Kiper gives us an A because he likes Josh, other analyst are giving us bad grades because they hate Josh. Reminds me of my old high school English teacher who would give you an A if you agreed with her, and would give you a C at best if you presented a differing opinion. The fact is there were 15-2O really great players in this draft...and we got two of them. We also got a top fifty player at ninety six. To me that's pretty good. We filled the two biggest issues this franchise has.
  21. It isn't all on Culley and they keep talking about Daboll working with Allen. I think Daboll will spend a lot of time with the quarterbacks. I still think they should bring in Chudzinski to work as an assistant exclusively with Allen.
  22. That's fine, probably a lie, but I assure you they did not have him as their #1 quarterback in the draft like Trappasso.
  23. I still think it makes sense to go sign Luke Joeckel to play LG and have the rest of the guys compete. I'm hoping and praying McDermott wins the RT job and Newhouse is the swing guy who could also play guard. Mills goes and bags groceries somewhere, I dont think they will will have their backup center be a starter elsewhere so I think one of Groy or Bodine start, or they both start and they keep another C who can play guard to backup. In my world... Dawkins Joeckel Groy Tiller McDermott Backups Bodine Newhouse Miller or Vlad
