Has the light finally gone on for Zay Jones?
MrEpsYtown replied to KOKO NFL's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I gotta be honest, I am starting to lean this way. When you look at statistics, guys like Jerry Rice, TO, Michael Irvin etc dropped a lot of passes. But they had all world talent that made up for it. It's fine to drop 3 or 4 balls when you are catching 7 and making all world plays. Point being, Zay isn't good enough to drop the ball. He doesn't offer the speed and playmaking ability or upside those guys did, or even Foster or McKenzie do. You don't live with drops from a guy like Zay. -
Brady and Belichick Deserve to Go Out On Top
MrEpsYtown replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This definitely seems like the wrong forum for this type of thing. Nothing would give me more than them never winning anything else. Hopefully Brady sticks around way too long and is a shell of his former self. I want to see him deteriorate. -
He's the perfect backup to have. I'd extend him now if possible, but it makes sense for him to wait and see if another team will give him a chance to be a bridge guy, or compete for a starting job (ala AJ McCarron this year). I think he has been a huge positive, and from all accounts he is a great guy who is a man of faith and you know how much McDermott loves those. He seems like a good guy to have around for Josh.

A lot of regression the last couple of weeks. A critical part of his game that seems lacking is that he does not come back to the ball. He kind of sits and wait for the ball to come to him. That gives defenders space and time to close to the ball. He needs to attack the ball and catch the damn thing. -
Once again we really need a TE
MrEpsYtown replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is about opportunity. I don't think we need a true number 1. We need guys who can block and catch and complement the offense. Right now we have an H-back guy with no knee, a guy who can't block, and a former quarterback. Bringing in actual real tight ends would make a world of difference in my opinion. It's the same as the #1 receiver thing. -
I saw a lot more power run schemes with guys pulling and down locking. Most I have seen all year and that type of blocking scheme plays to the strengths of our olineman. Not sure why it took so long to get here.

Crazy how small Ruben Brown and John Fina are now. -
Haha yes I suppose.

This is an overrated concept. We've had a true number one many times in the past, and it got us nowhere. I believe you need pieces on offense that are complementary to each other. We need a guy with some size and elite athleticism who can do a little bit of everything and make contested catches. That's what our team is missing.

Draft Josh Allen... 2019
MrEpsYtown replied to MakeBuffaloGreatAgain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy is a playmaker on defense and would be a great replacement for Lorax. He can play on the line, offf the ball, and off the edge. He's a top ten talent for sure. He could be used like a Khalil Mack, as a SAM in base formations and an end in nickel and dime situations. If we stay in the top ten, we are drafting a defensive player. Tackles and receivers are huge reaches that high in this draft and plugging holes is a terrible way to draft. -
That's my guy. He also ran a 4.35 and is a really good dude and very smart. Process all the way.

Potential Cut Candidates in the Offseason
MrEpsYtown replied to DCOrange's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
His contract isn't a bid deal, as you could cut him anytime with minimal dead cap. I would sign a guy like Maxx Williams who doubles as a tight end and fullback so you free up a roster spot. -
Take Your Pick - 2019 FA Wish List !!
MrEpsYtown replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Demarcus Lawrence will get the franchise tag. I don't think Trey Flowers will though. There are rumblings they will use it on Gostkowski. i think most of our cap goes to the o line, a tight end or two, and a receiver. The best think for a young quarterback is a veteran line. I think we add young talent to the defense in the draft. -
I think the Lynn situation required a total blow up and culture change. I think he's a good coach, but we needed a change. Continuity would not have been a good thing after Rex. With Schwartz, the stink of the 0-16 season in Detroit had not worn off at that point in time. Pettine was never considered as HC here as he flamed out in Cleveland before our job was up for grabs again.

I want no part of Tyrell Williams
MrEpsYtown replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looked slow to me. I wasn't impressed. In all fairness, the guy I like, Conley, had two catches for 19 yards. I do think Conley would be better with more targets and plays designed for him, so I still prefer him. But neither were impressive tonight. Mitch Morse was and that is the guy to get at center in my opinion.
