  1. I'm pretty sure Teller and Boettger were in there together the last series or two. I might be wrong.
  2. That PFW article is pretty interesting. This seems pretty much on point: Downside: Gap integrity looks like that of a 19-year old. Will take the wrong gap and watch runners go where he should have been. Eyes get too big — gets greedy and will overplay the ball. Takes on blockers at poor angles and gets cleaned out of plays. Has to key better on OL movement and diagnose run plays just a hair faster. Doesn’t use his hands well enough at this point to stack and shed interior OL blocks. Can get blown up by crack-back blocks — must do better job of keeping head on a swivel. So I wonder, are Tremaine's issues really about instincts or more about technique? I think it's more about technique and strength. I still go back to Mike Mayock saying that there is no comparison because he's never really seen a prospect like Tremaine. I think he will blow up next year, but this team has put a lot on his plate. There is no doubt that he needs to work on his technique more than anything and needs to get stronger. I thought this this quote from the PFW article was pretty telling as well: Quotable: “We were doing a little research on the ages of prospects, and we found that most [20-year olds who] go that high were [offensive and defensive] linemen and some receivers. We couldn’t really find too many linebackers that age that high. Raekwon [McMillan] was a 2. Terrell Suggs was a high 1, but they had him rushing the passer, not lining guys up. I don’t know if you give [Edmunds] a green dot [the helmet with the communication to a defensive coordinator] Day 1. That’s a lot to ask of any rookie, especially a guy that young. He just doesn't have the rare instincts to do that. I would never put that on the kid. He needs time. But he can play. Wouldn’t shock me if he ends up one of the five or six best [non-quarterbacks] in this class when we look back.” — NFC national scout Thats pretty much exactly what our team has asked Tremaine to do.
  3. I think the "move Edmunds to OLB" idea is kind of tired. We spend the majority of the game in a nickel defense, which would be he and Milano anyway. 90% of the fits and things would be the same as they are now regardless of calling him a SAM in base. Also your SAM backer in base defenses has to often jam tight ends and have a really strong punch, which is not something's Edmunds seems to do well. Draft Josh Allen and stick him there and get some functional depth. Edmunds played terrible, but he will be better. During draft time everyone talked about how great his instincts were. He's playing soft and needs some strength. We wound up in base a lot because the Pats forced us into it. They came out with a tight end and a fullback a ton which is why we saw so much Corey Thompson. The Lions playing 3 wide looks played into our hands last week. It was smart of the Pats to force us into base, forcing us to play Thompson and taking advantage of him, as Raphael Bush is a much better player. We should have signed Marquis Flowers a couple of weeks ago instead of assuming Corey Thompson was going to be okay. The Pats took advantage of this.
  4. Shaq signed an extension before the season. He is now one of the highest paid guards in the league now. Patriots ran a power running game similar to what we used to do under Greg Roman. A scheme like that is what I thought we were going to see when Daboll came on staff. We have not seen it. So perhaps it will take a change in the o-line coach for there to be a change there. A power running scheme would benefit all of our lineman as they are a much better fit for that as compared to what they are doing now.
  5. I think Josh Allen is going to be one of those guys who might be a bit difficult to play with. Understanding what he wants to do when going off script, getting up and playing the ball, and being ready for fastballs. This is in no way and indictment on Josh. I am simply saying they have to find the pieces that work well with him. They have one in Foster. Zay Jones played well in that Barkley game because he's a robotic reciever and Barkley is a system quarterback. Josh has cahones, and is going to need recievers who are aggressive as well. Again I love Josh and I simply want to see him paired with pieces that work. Thats why me and a bunch of other people have advocated for Tanner Gentry. Because the guy knows how to play with Josh and knows what to do when the play breaks down. He's not necessarily anything special. But he's probably a great fit for our quarterback.
  6. They don't attack the ball, they wait for it to come to them. Besides Foster, our recievers have not been aggressive at all.
  7. I wonder if that is the look Trapasso makes while he watches Mason Rudolph inactive on the sideline all year.
  8. Will haunt a bunch of people in Vegas
  9. Ever since he's been here Haus money has sucked. There has to be a reason for it. Take a shot on Drew Kaser next week.
  10. These are meaningful reps as the Pats are still being aggressive on defense. It's all about developing these guys.
  11. I mean he may never get better, but odds are that he will. Every game is a learning experience and this guy is nowhere near a finished product.
  12. Btw, to everyone who wants to reach on right tackle, this game is why you take the elite defensive talent in the top ten of this draft. Our online is actually playing ok today, and it isn't making a lick of a difference. You draft difference makers and elite talent in the top ten of the draft.
  13. Yep I agree 100%. It will come with more reps.
  14. When Lorax is one on one in coverage against Edelman, you can't blame the players. That's a scheme and coaching problem.
  15. I like Edmunds, but he is playing very soft. He's getting blocked and running away from linemen. He's a step slow.
  16. This exactly. Add on the terrible and inconsistent officiating and you have your reason for a 29-3 Brady record against us.
  17. Ah shades of Shawn Nelson. Good times.
  18. I mean I assumed we were going to lose his game, but we look terrible. Not having Milano hurts. The defense has not been aggressive and our run defense has been bad. No run game on offense, reciever drops and Allen making some poor throws and decisions. Honestly though, this is a big learning experience for Josh Allen. As poorly as he has played, there is a lot to learn here.
  19. Why is that not intentional grounding on Tommy boy?
  20. Thompson has been awful in run fits though. Like he never played football before bad.
  21. They arent getting off blocks and Michel is hitting the hole fast and hard
  22. He's been terrible in the run game but looks good in the pass game. Maybe he's a nickel backer.
  23. Arians for HC? Everything he is saying makes an incredible amount of sense.
  24. Poyer needs to teach our recievers how to catch. Maybe he can work with Zay.
