  1. Okay so he is on the market again. He's been suspended multiple times for PEDs I believe and sat out awhile. He signed with the Colts practice squad and they brought him up to the active roster last week. They released him to fill another position. It appears he has been totally clean since coming back with the Colts. He's got size, speed, is a playmaker, and tackles. He's a former teammate of Tredavious White, and I think that he would upgrade the cornerback position. He's a great fit for the McDermott system. He's risky yes, but would cost nothing and there is still a ton of upside here. I like Levi Wallace obviously, but Collins has a ton of talent. The way he played in the playoffs for the Falcons their Super Bowl year was just ridiculous. Anyway, just wanted to throw the idea out there for discussion. McDermott didn't seem concerned about Trent Murphy's PED suspension, so perhaps this is still a process guy.
  2. Man I wish. I loved his offense. His playcalling was awful at times, but that guy is a good coach. What he's doing in Baltimore is just really cool. He definitely won't have the edge and cred that a guy like Ray Brown does, but could definitely be an interesting hire.
  3. Good call on Matthaei, coached with McDermott in Philly as well. I just hope he brings Mitch Morse with him, and I hope that Juan Castillo did not teach him too much when they were in Philly.
  4. I think he simply followed Steve Wilks and the Panthers let him go.
  5. My best guess is George Warhop of the Buccaneers assuming he shakes loose. There isn't a McDermott connection that I know of, but he worked as Brian Daboll's offensive line coach with the Browns. He worked with Leslie Frazier on that Tampa staff and he's done a nice job developing Ali Marpet and was big for Orlando Pace back in the day. He's had an up and down career, but has developed some good players. I'd prefer Ray Brown though.
  6. Ray Brown makes a ton of sense. He's a good coach, they had no talent. He also played in the NFL which I think is a plus for an O line coach. Ironically, Sean Kulger could be available as well Andy they coached together back in 08 in Buffalo.
  7. Any chance we see Mike Tice hired and that Dunkirk guy is right 2 years later?
  8. Yep he was great and doing great things in LA now.
  9. This is such a hugely important hire. They have to get this right.
  10. Honestly, Massie is only marginally better than Mills. He had a good year this year so maybe he is developing. Im looking at Daryl Williams like everyone else...but I also like Josh Wells. He's played a bunch of left and right tackle for Jacksonville. Has a good amount of experience and is a bit under the radar. I think he deserves a shot to start at RT somewhere.
  11. He's basically making backup money and I think he is signed for another year. He's the perfect backup with a lot of experience and can play guard and center. I don't think he's good enough to be a long term starter. He can also be cut with very little cap impact.
  12. Im with this. I like Teller, and I really like him with a center upgrade. We need a center, a guard and a right tackle. An upgrade at the center spot makes me much more comfortable rolling with Teller. If Bodine is going to be our starter, I feel like we need two guards.
  13. Yes and no. I'd be curious to see what his value is. He probably thinks he is a starter, whereas he is a rotational player here. When Beane said resign your own, I think he was talking about down the line, Tredavious etc. he's not going to break the bank on superstar free agents. He wants financial flexibility to sign his own when they come up for a pay day. This franchise has lost lost too many good players over the years becuase we couldn't pay them. Pat Williams, Antoine Winfield, Nate Clements, Poz, etc etc etc.
  14. He's been pretty inconsistent and hurt as well. He was finally showing some signs of life as a 3 Tech in a 4-3. Seemed like a poor fit in the 3-4. Then he tore his ACL I believe. I actually always liked him as a prospect, but I'm not surprised he has struggled to find consistency. Could be an interesting buy low depending on what happens in Arizona.
  15. Looks like he is trying to stay motivated. The dude sucks and has been freely available to anyone all year. He should be thankful for being carried on the practice squad all year. Be grateful for the opportunity while you are selling insurance next year.
  16. Are you talking about Dawkins? He's got 35 inch arms, which are considered long. Under 33 inches are guards. Typically anything under 34 inches scares front office people.
  17. I think you let him test the market to see his value. He isn't a key player, but he's a rotational piece that we should try to get back. You just can't overpay. He is better than Harrison Phillips.
  18. One other thing about Jonah Williams, if you make him a center, I think he could be the best in league. He's a technician with good feet, extremely smart with great intangibles. I'd be interesting in making him our offensive line anchor for the next ten years paired up with Josh Allen. He'd be an elite center imo.
  19. I don't love him, there is way more boom and bust, but the upside is huge. I'd be fine with it in a trade down.
  20. The funny thing with KC is that they claimed Austin Reiter off waivers in September and he played well in Morse' absence. He was available to us and we didn't put in the claim, and he is better than anything we have in the interior. But I digress, Reiter actually signed a not so bad contract extension with KC already. I think they really like him and are going to let Morse walk. Jordan Devey is another journeyman type guy who played well for KC and is going to be a free agent. I think you you have to be concerned with concussions with Morse, but he's such a massive upgrade that it is worth the risk. Maybe there are incentives put in there and insurance policies etc. having a solid backup like Bodine helps alleviate the risk. Saffold is going back back to the Rams imo. I mean he's been there his whole career and had a ton of ups and downs. He's finally having some sustained success. He even came out in the media and said he wants to stay and would give a hometown discount to to Rams. Aaron Kromer did wonders for him. We should have kept him around. Great coach. I haven't dug deep enough at this point into the draft, and I do like a lot of the guys talked about, I just don't like them in the first round outside a trade down of some sort.
  21. One thing I will say about centers, I really like Mitch Morse, Paradis, and even Nick Easton. I think we go after Morse as a Reid guy as there is familiarality there. He is also a very tall center at 6-6, which doesn't work for all quarterbacks, but would be fine for Josh Allen. Easton I like as well. I think he winds up with Pat Shurmur and the Giants. I think Paradis goes to to the Jets or stays in Denver. The Jets are the team with a center need who have more cap than us. Colts don't need one. If if you miss out on Morse I think you are okay with Bodine if you sign two really good guards. Quinton Spain and Mark Glowinski come to mind. There is enough money to sign both. At tackle you go after Daryl Williams or Josh Wells. Btw, people who want to draft an offensive lineman in the first round, look at the guys we are talking about giving good money to. Paradis - 6th round Morse - 2nd round Easton - UDFA Spain - UDFA Glowinski - 4th round Daryl Williams - 4th round Josh Wells - UDFA Its all about finding the right guys and developing them, not reaching on guys to fill holes.
  22. Well honestly I will say this, if Brian Daboll thinks he's elite and is the guy, I will support it wholeheartedly. I basically stating my opinion on the guy based on what I have seen and read. But I assume Daboll knows a hell of a lot more than me as a guy with intimate knowledge of the guy. I still won't like it, but I'd support it 100%. I just don't think the difference between Dawkins and Williams is big enough to use a top ten pick. I think Dawkins is fine and gets a bad rap here. He's been up and down at time, but he's a young player who needs to find consistency in his game.
  23. Also a lot of film shows he struggles with a speed rush, so bigger longer guys would overpower him and a guy like Jerry Hughes would make him look silly. He's not an elite prospect. I think he's Luke Joeckel.
