This reads like a guy who loved Mayfield and Rosen predraft and didn't like Allen or Darnold. "Most worrisome is the utter lack of football awareness. Situational football separates winners from losers on a weekly basis, and Allen has never demonstrated he’s competent on conversion downs or able to progress quickly to mismatches. Everything moves slowly for Allen’s eyes and his arm can only make up for it so often. He’s only played the position for a few years, and it has certainly been reflected on the field." I really disagree with that. Allen is a smart player and I think saying he lacks football awareness is way off. The idea that he hasn't played the position long is dumb as well. Darnold played quarterback one year in high school and 2 at USC. Anyway I think Allen's issues are all mechanical. Footwork, release point and all that stuff. And we don't have mismatches to progress to because our receivers aren't those types of guys. This analysis is pretty off imo.

Im guessing he is talking about guys like Wyatt Teller, Conor McDermott, Siran Neal, Ray Ray...guys he thinks have high potential but aren't dressing on game days because they aren't ready to play, but would be claimed if waived. The mistake was probably keep guys like Khari Lee and Robert Foster. Those guys were useless and were eventually waived anyways. A blocking tight end who can't block and a fast receiver who can't catch. Ramon Humber sucks too.

It's get antsy in here

There are a few things at work here. Shanahan is an excellent offensive coach. The talent level around Mullens is pretty good. I wouldn't say amazing, but very good....and I feel like they stepped up their game a bit to make up for the green rookie. They have done a really excellent job of finding players that fit what Shanahan wants to do. On their pseudo re-build they have moved on from some pretty good players, players who did not fit what Shanahan wanted to do. Vance McDonald, Carlos Hyde, Torrey Smith, Colin Kaepernick, Trent Brown, Alex Boone. He and John Lynch have done a good job of finding players, both in free agency and the draft that fit what they want to do offensively. They went out and replaced those guys with players in free agency and the draft. Shanahan has a system, the guys understand it, and they execute it. We haven't gotten there yet. I do not think the offensive personnel fits what Brian Daboll is trying to accomplish. To me, it's the players, not the coaching. We have mostly replaced our loses with in house scrubs. Replacing Wood and Richie with in house scrubs like Groy and Vlad is dumb. Miller and Mills are backup players. I understand what they were trying to do with KB, but he doesn't seem to fit with Daboll. They did a great job of upgrading the defense with free agency and draft picks. White, Hyde, Poyer, Edmunds, Milano, Murphy etc etc. The offense has not been addressed because of the cap situation. I for one really like Josh Allen. If resources are devoted to upgrading the offense this off-season, I think we could see a huge jump next year. Last but not least, the Raiders are awful.

If you had a buddy who abandoned the Bills
MrEpsYtown replied to Cripple Creek's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think you are in the right. Still hang out and stuff but tailgating is out of the question. Honestly, deep down I would lose the ability to trust this person. But people flip allegiances for many reasons. -
I think Dion has a lot of potential and I like his attitude and the way he plays. But he definitely needs some work in the footwork and hand placement departments. I think he is better than serviceable, but not elite, though I think he could eventually become elite. He has the tools imo.

Ed Oliver or Greg Little?
MrEpsYtown replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To me it is simply bad business to take an offensive lineman that high. Aside from an elite left tackle like Joe Thomas, don't do it. And even then it is a stretch...look how much it helped the Browns to have Thomas all of these years. I am a trenches guy, but drafting OL high unless they are clearly plug and play elite, Zach Martin, Quentin Nelson, is simply bad business. The Titans drafted Lewan and Conklin and they still suck because they have no talent. I think we try to get a top three pick which will be some combination of a quarterback, Oliver and Bosa. If I can't get Oliver or Bosa I am trading down all day. -
Which Trash-Heap QB Would You Have Signed?
MrEpsYtown replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm fine with Barkley. I might have tried to steal Tyler Bray off of Chicago's practice squad. I was always intrigued by him. -
Ed Oliver or Greg Little?
MrEpsYtown replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to find a way into that top 3. Figure a quarterback goes #1 overall or somewhere in the top 3, Oliver and Bosa are the two elitish talents imo. I like Bosa a lot better. -
Ed Oliver or Greg Little?

I think some people see him as a guard, but I like him better than Little and I think the general consensus (if there really is one at this point) agrees. -

Agree with everything you said here. Great comparison. He's bigger, but similar impact imo. -
Ed Oliver or Greg Little?

Has to be Bosa. Oliver is interesting, but he isn't Donald. I don't think he is Warren Sapp. He is somewhere between that and Maurice Hurst to me. To me Little is super inconsistent and needs a lot of work. Are we moving Dawkins to RT? If Little is a RT I'm out. I would never draft a right tackle with a top ten pick. -

Dallas Goedert is pretty darn good too. One day we will draft a tight end. -
I honestly think Zay Jones is a decent wide receiver
MrEpsYtown replied to Bills365's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a bigger, faster Josh Reed. Eh reciever, who isn't a game breaker, but will make some solid plays in the slot. I was hoping he'd be more Golden Tate, but he's more Josh Reed imo. I think with Pryor and KB on the outside, we could see Zay with a mini breakout. -
Terrelle Pryor in Buffalo! Update: He's signing!
MrEpsYtown replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He has plenty speed, running a reported 4.32 at his pro day. I think he is still working on becoming a consistent reciever, but he catches the ball, he's big, and he's fast. Plus I think he will re-gain that chip on his shoulder. When he was in Cleveland he played with an edge, like he had something to prove. It seems like, once he got some money he pulled back. Now I think he is in a place where he has a chance to prove himself again. I think he's going to light it up here. -

He will go off in the two Jets games I'm sure. -
He seems to be able to protect himself really well. He always knows when there is pressure coming and where it is coming from so he gets his body ready to take the hit. He never gets hit in the head or low...except that time he blew out his knee.

Get Foles, WR via FA, Draft lineman
MrEpsYtown replied to BigSky's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chris Conley of the Chiefs is the guy to get in my opinion. Ridiculous athlete who isn't really getting a ton of chances to shine with KC. He's a good guy and a smart guy who is a bit quirky and I think he would be well liked in Buffalo. I thought he was really interesting in the draft a few years ago. He has upside if he can put things together. 6-3, 4.35 forty with a 45 inch vert. He's played well when guys have been hurt and out but he is a bit buried in KC. -
I'm fine keeping what we have. But next I would throw a ton of money and power at Nick Caserio of the Pats. He's basically been their pseudo general manager for a while. Probably bring Josh McDaniels with him. I also think John Defellipo and Matt Lafluer are going to be the hot new coordinators on the next hiring cycle. I think LaFleur is pretty interesting. I also think Dan Campbell of the Saints deserves a chance to be a head coach again. I was impressed with what he did in Miami and now he's serving under Sean Payton.

Trade Deadline Updates - Official Thread

I think it's a bit crazy to trade their starting safety when they are going for it this year as A-Aron gets older. It just seems that they aren't willing to pay guys in that position. Haha is a pending free agent they had no interest in resigning, who is pretty average and has had issues with teammates. Also, I think their new GM wants to draft his own guys ala Beane.
