I never loved Jonah at 9. In theory though, you could take the Zach Martin approach and plug Williams into the RG spot. You likely have a really good player for a long time there. I still think they go best defensively player available, with an outside shot at Hock or Metcalf. Money's on defensive line though...Gary, Oliver, Sweat, Burns, Wilkins...or one of the guys like Williams or Allen who possibly drop a bit.

All the reports out there suggested that the Jets wanted Spencer Long back, but at a reduced rate. They were paying him too much for what he was giving them, but suggestions out there say that they liked him at a lower cap number. Beane did a great job in being aggressive with Long before teams like Minnesota or New Orleans could get in on him. He's a better player than a lot of people think.

Hypothetical Mock, Who would u select @ #9

Their mock is kind of a mess, but PFF has been mocking Byron Murphy to he Bills at 9 for awhile because of the fit. He's got McDermott corner written all over him. I honestly would not mind it in a trade down, 9 seems a bit rich. But this dude can ball. -

If Byron Murphy is still hanging around in the 20s I could see a trade up. He might be the best defensive scheme fit for McDermott in the entire draft. People would probably be upset, but Murphy can play. -
People are underating Morse a bit I think. I know this won't go over well, but if he stays healthy he will be our best center since Hull. He is a much better player than Eric Wood, who would be second best since that time. He changes everything this year. People need to stop putting so much stock into bs PFF grades. Their linemen grades do not make a lot of sense. Everyone swore Matt Paradis was the better player becuase of PFF grades, yet the market told a very different story. Morse makes everyone around him so much better, and that is not something that is factored into PFF algorithms.

I think I'd take White in that scenario. Or Hockenson. I do like Wilkins though. Murphy definitely seems like a McDermott type also, but I don't think they would go there. -
I hate the Jets but I loved the Kelly Green from the color rush. I think they should have stuck with something like that.

Looks like the Patriots' receiver draft board.

Good article. My favorite line was "Williams gets his hands on the ball and pulls it in. No double-clutch. No waiting for it to come to his chest." somebody needs to show that to Zay Jones. But it I do think something's has to give at the position. Brown, Beasley, Jones, Duke are four guys who do not play special teams, though Beasley returns punts. If Foster is going to be one of your top guys, I'm not sure he plays a ton of teams either. So you essentially have five guys who are offense only guys, and I don't think that is going to work with this regime. Then you have Roberts who can do a bit of everything. That's six guys right there. Maybe you keep seven....I'm interested to see what their strategy will be in the draft and how this position shakes out. But I think Brown Beasley Foster are locks and that Jones and Williams are essentially fighting for a spot. Duke Williams is the anti Zay Jones. Zay looks like he was created in a receiver generator. Good size, speed, great agility, big hands and bred in a football family. Williams is big and slow, his measurables are ok. His testing numbers suck, but the dude can ball and just makes plays. I think, at the very least, Zay will have to step up becuase his spot is in jeopardy.

Buffalo Bills: Back to Bojorquez

The offseason has been way too exciting to talk about punters, but I guess something had to give eventually. Sometimes I wonder how Pat Pidgeon is doing these days. -
Young adolescent kids. They wear the worst crap. They love all those ugly alternate NBA jerseys and they buy all those loud, fancy sneakers. This was done for them imo.

This actually may make a trade for Clark more likely. Hawks also just signed two defensive ends in Marsh and Nate Orchard. Obviously those guys aren't game breakers, but it is interesting that they signed two ends the day Lawrence signed this deal. Perhaps they are in all holding pattern with Clark waiting to see where the market was set. Now they have the Wilson imposed deadline on his deal coming up and Clark threatening to hold out. It's an interesting situation to watch in the next week or two.

Ah, good ole quarterback purgatory!

Agreed. A lot of people were banging the table for Equanimous St. Brown at that point in the draft. He should have been the pick. Same with Austin Proehl, Trey Quinn taken right after him, is in line to win the Redskins slot receiver job while Proehl hangs around on practice squads.

Those are all guys on rookie contracts. That's why they play. They are all going to be starters at this point as teams give them a shot. You have to go back a bit to see the terrible. You also have to try and fast forward and project how many of these guys will be around after their rookie contracts. Out of all of those guys Stanley, Ramczyk, and Nelson are elite players. Miller was also already replaced and moved to RT. Ifedi and Garnett are not good and Conklin is always hurt. Bolles is terrible and the Broncos regret the pick. Price was really bad for the Bengals and they are already regretting the pick and wishing they could have Bodine back. You just have to find the right guys and drafting guys high, who are not elite is a mistake.

Probably some bitter exec (Jets?) who missed out on guys because we were clever about how we structured deals.

One thing I will say, as a middle school teacher, a lot of my kids love the Jets new look. Fashion sense among young teens these days is just terrible. But a lot of them love this look. So if Nike and the NFL are trying to appeal to younger people who get their parents to waste money on jerseys for them, then they are getting the job done. It's the same reason WWE shoved Cena down people's throats, despite the fact that most fans hated him, they want to sell shirts to young people who like to waste their money.

They should have went with those Kelly Green Color Rush jerseys full time. Those were pretty sweet actually. And so Jamal Adams was full of crap when he said these aren't them huh.
