  1. I think competent center depth is actually pretty hard to find. Unless they draft a guy, there really isn't any reason to cut him. That said, with Long, Feliciano, and Sirles all able to snap, Bodine may not be needed. But I really see no reason to cut him. I'd keep him.
  2. Thread title is misleading ?
  3. I would not give up high picks, but I do think some of these guys could be available on the cheap. I'd offer a 5th to the Saints for Hendrickson and he's blocked there by Davenport and Jordan. They got him in the third and they only have 6 picks this year (a 2 and a 5, the rest are 6th and 7th rounders. Maybe Offer the 49ers our 3 in exchange for their fourth, essentially trading down 20 or so spots. I also like some of the free agents like Edwards, Barrett, Ray, better than Ansah.
  4. I think he'd be a base defensive end and rush as a tackle when Lorax goes to end.
  5. I'm holding out hope for some sort of trade for a younger guy with some upside who doesn't have a spot....Solomon Thomas, Trey Hendrickson, Emmanuel Ogbah, Noah Spence, or sign a guy like Shaq Barrett, Shane Ray, Mario Edwards. I never liked Ansah as a prospect. I'd rather get a guy who is a little younger with some more upside.
  6. I don't think he does. He had something like 12 career tackles, so perhaps he did it earlier in his career.
  7. Another Brilliant Beane Blunder?
  8. I don't think he should.
  9. I hear you and great points. For me though, I wouldn't move him until I was absolutely sure he could not be an excellent tackle, and I'm not there yet. Up and down play with an online coach in Castillo who meshes great with some and not with others. I still think Dion has the athleticism and upside to be a top 10-15 left tackle and moving him in to guard would be my ultimate fallback. He admittedly got a little lazy. While that annoys me, I respect him for being honest instead of making excuses or blaming someone else. I think we should draft a guy like a Max Sharping to develop and to push him. Also I feel like having Nsehke around will be a boost to the o-line room, because that is a guy who has had to work his butt of just to latch on with an NFL team and his hard work has finally paid off in some gauatanteed money. He took nothing for granted. Morse is also a leader and big time worker. Let's see what Dion does this year and go from there.
  10. If they release Seth Roberts, I'd be all over it. A guy I've always liked.
  11. God that guy sucks. I can't believe he beat us in a playoff game becuase Tyrod Taylor can't throw the ball and Preston Brown is slow heaping pile who couldn't catch a scrambling Bortles.
  12. Possibilities include David Mayo as a backup Will and special teams guy. And probably Wes Horton as a defensive end, if they can't get a hold of a bigger fish. So so there is some hope?
  13. I think he has a chance to start at RT. I'm sorry but I am not moving my hand picked, 24 year old left tackle to another position for a 33 year old journeyman, one year wonder. It makes zero sense. I'm not hating on Nsehke, I'm simply stating that Dion Dawkins need to stay at left tackle until he proves that he can't do it. He's struggled a bit, but moving him off the position at this point makes no sense, especially for an older player who might just be here for a year or two. Development is important and I am confident Dion will be better.
  14. I don't hate Zay, I just think, when you are a reciever, you should be able to catch the ball. That's all. He's nothing special. He does nothing special. Doesn't beat guys, isn't super fast, has zero RAC ability, and drops a ton of balls. He is more of a liability than anything. I don't care who the quarterback is, you gotta catch the ball.
  15. Yeah this is a great move. The guy has been excellent for a few years and maybe we might actually get a return at some point, especially with our new special teams coach. Last return I remeber was Terrence McGee.
  16. There are a good amount of guys still out there. While I think they avoid a guy like ASJ...you got secondary guys like Jeff Hueuerman, Maxx Williams, James O'Shaungessy, AJ Derby, Matt LaCosse...all guys who are interesting who have some upside as guys under 30. I also think you could make a trade for Tyler Higbee. The Thomas experiment was a good idea and worth a shot, but it just didn't work out and I'm fine with that. I still think Croom is a scrub, but I know I'm out numbered on that one.
  17. That's what I'm saying. I think McDermott, Leslie Frazier, Bob Babich and their 80 plus years of combined defensive coaching experience knows a bit more than some guys on a internet. You have trust Babich on this one imo.
  18. Edmunds was hand selected to be the MIKE backer for the next 10-12 years. Z. Brown was talking to McDermott and co about coming back. I believe they offered him a chance to come back and compete and he went to Washington, so they rolled with Humber and Milano at the Will. I don't know why they would circle back to him Zach Brown 2 years later now that he is older to move their franchise guy off the spot they picked him for. Zach Brown has always played inside in a 3-4 in his NFL career, so look for him to wind up in a place like Tampa Bay where they are making a 3-4 switch and have zero linebackers. He's not really a 4-3 mike, and while he could probably be a sam or will, he hasn't really done it.
  19. Yeah I don't know why anyone would want to go to Miami to get killed. They might as well just stick with Tannehill in their tank year. Let him be the bridge and ride off into the sunset. Otherwise you are eating like a 22 million dollar dead cap hit.
  20. I feel like he must not be a likeable guy. I don't want him back. I don't think they are going to move their hand picked franchise quarterback of their defense so that they can sign Zach Brown, who they discarded once. I think its funny that people want to move Tremaine. If Bob Babich, who helped make Urlacher what he was, believes that Tremaine is a mike, then he's a mike.
  21. Eh, for now yes, but I'm assuming they add draft picks and such. I think he should get a chance to compete at least. Sirles is the ultimate back-up because he can play all five positions. He isn't great, but it helps to have that versatility on the roster.
  22. Better start changing those Chris Kelsay jerseys to Clowneys! Hope he brings his lunch pail!!
  23. With the Felciano add, yes I think so. Boettger learning to snap really is a good idea, but I don't think he has ever done it. He did play a lot of RT at Iowa so he is somewhat versatile. Sirles can play center and was the backup towards the end of the season. With Morse's injury history, I would honestly keep Bodine, just because he is a natural center and having depth there is important. I'm pretty sure they kept nine guys last year. So currently: Dawkins-Feliciano-Morse-Long-Nsekhe Bodine-Teller-McDermott Sirles or Boettger Now obviously we will probably add more and there is the draft left to go. But I don't think this regime wants a starter to also serve as a backup center, because you then have lots of guys moving around if there is an injury. I think that is why they never let Groy play any guard, even though he was probably better than John Miller. So I think you want a backup who can play all three interior positions. If Teller winds up being a starter at guard, Bodine is gone, because then either Long or Feliciano become the backup who can play all three interior positions.
  24. So since Morse is my man crussh and I've learning so much about him during my courting/stalking endeavors, I will say that he does not seem like the kind of guy who would flip. I think we are fine. Cole Beasley and Gore already had Bills stuff all over their social media stuff. I think the only guy I could see flipping is John Brown.
  25. I think we are actually sleeping on Spencer Long a bit. I really like his addition, especially now with the addition of Morse. I really liked Spencer Long's game at Nebraska. He's big and nasty and has a bit of Richie Incognito in him, without the douchebaggery and valium induced twitter rants. I just hope they leave him at right guard, which is where he played at Nebraska and where I think he should play here. I think the other guard position will be a competition between Teller and Feliciano. Both are nasty, super strong players. I like Teller a fair amount more than most, and I'd like to see him win that job, but I like the Feliciano add. I still think they could add a guard or a RT, but we shall see how it all shakes out. But don't sleep on Spencer Long. I do think, based on no evidence, that they are working a trade for a defensive end. I do not think they will be able to get a 3 tech in free agency and I think that will come via the draft. I think they will add special teams depth players, like David Mayo, to the linebacking corps...but that's second and third wave of free agency stuff.
