Fan collapses and dies at Ravens game...RIP
MrEpsYtown replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Very sad. RIP and condolences to the family. The way my blood pressure jumped during the Texans game scared the heck out of me and made me reconsider the meaning of fanatic. Take care of yourselves out there, -
I am typically a pretty positive poster, but... The Seattle Mariners tried this. It ended with a lawsuit. I think it is a terrible idea. You are bringing non-locker room culture people into a locker room and it spells disaster in my opinion. We are a forward thinking organization in some ways, but with the Mariners, their doctor of performance starting undermining what the trainers and coaches were doing and then sued the team for discrimination. It is a very strange story. https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/lorena-martin-sues-mariners-says-she-complained-to-owner-john-stanton-ceo-kevin-mather-about-discrimination/ https://www.seattletimes.com/sports/mariners/in-court-documents-mariners-allege-that-lorena-martin-was-dishonest-and-misrepresented-herself/ Not saying this is going to happen here, but bringing "specialists" from the free world into the old boys club doesn't always work out.

Who’s the one FA you want in 2020?
MrEpsYtown replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dream additions at positions of need would be: Clowney Scherff Cooper Henry Not happening. But I could see them going after one of them. I think Amari needs some love and needs to be held accountable. He would get that with Bills Mafia and Coach McDermott and I think his skill set would excel here in Brian Daboll's offense. Again it seems unlikely, but he could be the missing piece. I would also say that there are some pretty interesting corners on the market who could challenge Levi Wallace. We also need to add safety depth. -
My Off-Season Primer: Position Group: OL

Nice job! Excellent write up. To me, at 22 in the draft, the best linemen avalable might be Tyler Biadasz. I know he is a center and we have Morse, but take the best linemen and figure everything else out later. Maybe he could play guard for a year or two ala Eric Wood. Maybe Morse moves to left guard (he is a former left tackle, and maybe a move to guard help his concussion situation). Anyways, Biadasz is elite and one of my favorite offensive linemen I've seen in a while. Probably the best interior linemen I have seen since Quentin Nelson. Just take him and he will give you elite production for 15 years. -
Did anyone hear mike ginnitti from spotrac on wgr
MrEpsYtown replied to zevo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Alright, so I am a big Dion Dawkins supporter. I like him a lot and I think he still has potential to get better. I know a lot of people on the board still think he is a guard. I think he is a left tackle...not elite, but probably top 15 right now, and a pretty young guy at 25 who has the chance to get better. I would extend him. That said, with the Matt Rhule stuff, the guy that he should want in his locker room to establish culture etc, is Dion Dawkins, who started for him for four years at Temple. Dawkins was an integral part in helping Rhule turn things around at Temple. If I'm Rhule, that's the guy I want anchoring my offensive line, where Carolina has struggled to find consistency. Dawkins was one of the first guys Rhule recruited when he got the job at Temple and they go way back and are very close. So...Dion Dawkins to Carolina for DJ Moore....who says no? Again I would not do it because I really like Dawkins and he's home grown. I think he's going to get better. But you do have a stop gap guy in Nsekhe in house who could play left tackle while you look for a long term replacement. This is a strong receiver draft class, but is the guy you are getting at 22 better than Moore? I'm not sure about that. You would be getting what looks to be an elite playmaker, but removing the heart and soul of your offensive line. I guess it depends on the drop off to Nsekhe and whether the Bills are planning to pay Dawkins or not. Anyways, I'd love to get people's thoughts. -
The plan to replace Lorenzo Alexander?
MrEpsYtown replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With the Washington hire, a guy that might make sense is Bruce Irvin. He has a lot of experience as a 4-3 SAM from his days in Seattle. He has length, speed, can still cover, and can play defensive end on passing downs. He also has experience as a 3-4 OLB, which would help in 4-3 under looks. Obviously Eric Washington would be familiar with him and he's a former teammate of Heath Farwell. At 32 years old he just had 8.5 sacks. I think he might be the perfect replacement for Lorax. -

Good hire, and kinda obvious but I did finally get something right in the other thread! -

He quit again? -
So of this is tongue in cheek, but I do think we will see an unusual amount of movement because there are so many free agent quarterbacks this year. It's more likely they go back to their old teams, I do think Rivers and Winston will be on new teams though. If I were Brady I would go to Dallas, just because he can get paid what he wants and has a strong offensive line and weapons around him. And if I were NE i would let him go and tank for Trevor.

Bills add K/P Kaare Vedvik to the futures signings.

I wanted us to use one of our 9 draft picks on the kid from Ohio State....but apparently he is going back to school. -
Multiple Needs Fixed in One Shot: Pursue Taysom Hill

Taysom is much closer to BYU's own Dan Smith. But I digress. -
The plan to replace Lorenzo Alexander?
MrEpsYtown replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think its' wide reciever or defensive end, but it is way too early to tell. But 22 is the area that good linebackers and tight ends often fall to, so we shall see how it goes. -
I 100% agree with this. I think Belichick is going to coach forever and I think Brady wants to prove he can win without him. For them, I think it is the perfect time to tank. I think NE tanks and drafts Lawrence. I think Brady goes to Dallas to play behind that offensive line with Elliot in the backfield and Amari Cooper on the outside. It also allows Dallas to move on from Dak, which deep down is something I think they want. No one can argue with moving on from Dak if he is replaced by Brady. (ala Tebow for Peyton) I think Joe Buck's head might explode if Brady is playing for America's team. Dak goes to MIami where he is a much better fit in Chan Gailey's offense and Miami has their long term quarterback. I think Rivers goes to Tampa and plays for Bruce Arians, I think they would be a good fit. Winston goes to the Chargers and plays for Anthony Lynn. I also like Andy Dalton in Indy. That's the end of my quarterback carousel that will likely never happen.

I honestly think the best fit to replace Lorax would be Kyle Van Noy of the Pats He is an UFA and a true hybrid player. He's got length, can cover, and can rush the passer. But I think he may be in for a pretty big pay day. My next target would be Kyler Fackrell. I really liked him at draft time and I think he has the potential to do more than he has done in Green Bay. I think he is for a pay day, but not as much as Van Noy or Judon. I think he can rush the passer and can cover and he's excelled at times. I think he had like three sacks against us last year. Other guys who could fit Bud Dupree, Vince Biegel, Jamie Collins, Judon. Then there are traditional OLBs like AJ Klein, Nick Vigil who could fit as well. -
Multiple Needs Fixed in One Shot: Pursue Taysom Hill

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. I am interested to see what New Orleans does with zero quarterbacks currently signed, minimal cap space, and 5 draft picks. I just think if you gave this guy a ridiculously front loaded offer like the Charles Clay move a few years ago, or even the contract that they gave to Mitch Morse last year, the Saints would have trouble matching the deal. Ofcourse they have the right to match any offer sheet, but unless they give him the exclusive franchise tag (which I doubt they will), he's going to be able to shop around. And as soon to be 30 year old player, this may be his only chance at a pay day. Hill is an RFA, not an ERFA, so anything can happen in my opinion. I'm guessing they try to extend him before free agency, but if I were him, I'd want to see what I am worth. I'd also probably look around to see if anyone was willing to commit to me as a starting quarterback. Hill is an interesting case. But with with 90 million in cap we can attempt to make moves like this. -
We need a dynamic receiver with size. We need a dynamic complimentary running back to Singletary. We need improvement in our special teams. We need a more dynamic athlete as a backup quarterback. Taysom Hill is the offensive weapon who could fill all of those roles in one shot. Brian Daboll showed some creativity towards the end of the season and having a guy like Hill could really open up this offense. Having Josh Allen and Hill on the field at the same time could create a really interesting dynamic and you could do some interesting RPO, zone read stuff. Hill also gives you a backup quarterback who can do things closer to what Josh can do. Now I don't know that Hill can truly be an every down player because he was injured a lot in college. But McDermott seems to have a philosophy of using his entire 46 man roster on game days, so a lot of guys cycle in and out. So how do you get him? The Saints are in a bit of a rough situation in terms of cap space. Both Brees and Bridgewater are free agents, as well as a number of key defensive players like AJ Klein, Eli Apple, David Oneymata etc. Hill is a RFA who I'm guessing they will tender at the second round level. I am willing to give up a late second for this guy. Now the Saints would have the chance to match, however, when teams are in the situation they are, that's when you can fleece them of RFA's. The Bills would simply heavily front load a deal. I think Hill will be looking to cash in as he is already 29 years old due to his Mormon mission and redshirts in college. A 4 year deal that is heavily frontloaded makes sense and I think the Saints would gladly accept the second rounder. The Saints only have 5 draft picks and have no second rounder. With 26 free agents on their roster, and very little cap space, something will have to give. The Bills could also try to work out a trade with NO like the Patriots did with the Dolphins back in the day for Wes Welker. We have nine picks, aren't going to use all of them, and getting a guy like Hill really maximizes what you can do with your 53 man roster. Just my two cents. I'm all for an AJ Green or pursuing Amari Cooper, or even going after a guy with upside like Rashard Higgins, or even drafting a receiver at 22, but to me, a guy like Hill adds an interesting dynamic and fixes a lot in one signing. I'd actually go after Hill and Higgins, but that's just my opinion.

I love Roman's running game and schemes utilizing multiple tight ends. I'd take him back in a heartbeat. That said I'm not sure I see the right fit in Cleveland. I think gets hired as a HC next year if his offense is successful again. I think people are going to wait a year on him.

McDermott and Beane End of Season press conferences 1/7
MrEpsYtown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Ford is going to be okay. I think a lot of his mistakes were technique things that can be cleaned up. I know I am in the minority, but unless you are giving loads of money to Jack Conklin, I don't think that you are going to find a guy with Ford's upside. I just think he was really raw, and is working on his game. There were times where he looked really good and I was pretty impressed. There were also times in which he looked truly awful, but there were times Spain, Morse, and Feliciano looked terrible as well. I look at it the same way I view Dawkins when people wanted to move him, Ford has not proven that he is incapable of playing right tackle. He isn't there yet and I think it is too early to move him. I think the Bills see him as a true RT and that is why they chose him over Dalton Risner. Like I said, his game is raw. He wasn't asked to do much at Oklahoma and he is working on the nuances of the game. If we can't re-sign Spain, I'm looking at Connor McGovern of the Broncos. He's capable of playing guard and center and played next to Mitch Morse at Mizzou. (He's the guy Shaq was fighting with post game vs the Broncos). He would be my target, assuming Brandon Scherff is too expensive. I think paying RT's like Conklin is bad practice, but if you can design a front loaded deal, I'd be okay with it, but I would not love it. I think I see what Spain wants, see what else is out there, like McGovern, and leave Ford where he is. -
I think they are just conservative and aggressive at the wrong times. Going empty sets with heavy personnel in OT made no sense. Overtime should turn back into a regular game, get first downs and run Singletary and use play action. I'm not sure why they opened it up at that point, but that was the wrong time to do that in my opinion. McDermott is a Andy Reid guy, who has a history of these issues. To add, teh defense got pretty conservative in the third quarter. They weren't aggressive again until overtime, and then you had the missed tackles. It is one thing to get conservative on offense and it is another thing to play Dick Jauron defense with a lead. I think they need to just stick with their game plan throughout and it felt like they got away from the game plan while sitting on a lead.

McDermott and Beane End of Season press conferences 1/7

I know some people don't like a lot of what Daboll does, but I think continuity at this point would be huge. Re-signing Quentin Spain and returning 5 starting offensive linemen would be amazing and unprecedented around these parts. I do hope there are no major changes this offseason.
