  1. On Ryan Van Denmark, he is a super high RAS guy with nearly 36 inch arms who was a 4 year starter at UCONN playing left tackle for his last 3 season. He is the exact type of guy you draft or sign and stash and help grow and add strength. i am way more excited about him than I am about Alec Anderson. There is potential there, and we saw that small sample of him filling in for Dion with no issues. And if healthy, Tommy Doyle is the other tackle depth. Very similar player to Van Denmark.
  2. The only thing that I know is that their OL coach the last couple of years was Brendan Nugent. He is now the OL coach in Seattle. He’s a Marc Trestman guy who followed him to Chicago and wound up coaching under Aaron Kromer during that time. He also worked with Joe Brady and Ronald Curry during his time in New Orleans and coached at William and Mary. Nugent also worked for Pat Meyer who is a Trestman/Kromer guy who was Brady’s Oline coach in Carolina. Nugent followed Joe Lombardi to the Chargers and was hired by Brandon Staley who obviously worked with Kromer and LA. Long story short, there is a bunch of crossover there. The Chargers also seem to seek out high RAS linemen as well, though Clapp isn’t one of them. In terms of techniques Kromer and Meyer are all about the aggressive first contact jump set on pass pro. It’s a little different than some other guys teach it, but it makes sense. My really long way of answering your question is that I have to assume Nugent is teaching the same stuff. Here is a detailed, cool if you are into OL play stuff breakdown of the techniques Meyer teaches, which he learned from Kromer: https://steelersdepot.com/2022/02/bring-the-fight-to-them-new-steelers-ol-coach-pat-meyers-pass-protection-philosophy/
  3. Honestly I am not sure. I have only seen him play a few times. I guess I would say that I do not think they are done. I think they add a mid level free agent and draft some guys.
  4. Totally agree
  5. I think there is a Zero percent chance they draft IOL in the first two rounds. Whether they added Clapp or not. It’s just not their MO. The only way I could see it is of one of those top tackles are sitting around at the end of round two and could potentially relace Brown next year. I think it’s WR, DT, or edge in the first two rounds with a DB being a possibility as well. JMO
  6. I don’t see that happeneing. David Edwards is on a whole nother level than Clapp imo. Clapp is here to add depth and probably compete with Alex Anderson. At least that is my opinion.
  7. One more connection for Clapp is that McDermott’s boy Dave Aranda was at LSU with Clapp.
  8. This to me is a slighty higher level Greg Mancz type signing. Clapp did play a lot last year when Corey Lindsey got hurt.
  9. Yes he played for Brady in New Orleans. Ronald Curry was also on staff at the time
  10. He must really like Ricky Pearsall ❤️
  11. Gunner did sherlockholmes take over your account?
  12. I was at a coaches clinic/chalk talk over there last weekend and kotelnicki is impressive.
  13. IMO we have a starting 5 set. Then you have Tackles Van Denmark, Tommy Doyle on the roster and Gouraige on a futures deal. Doyle was working interior last pre season as well. IOL it’s Alec Anderson as a rostered player, and Kevin Jarvis on a futures deal. Both guys are college right tackles playing inside. Both can play center and guard. The Bills will have to add here. I assume the 5 starters plus Van Denmark and Anderson have a leg up to make the team. And if he is healthy, Doyle as well. That’s 7 guys and they usually keep 9-10 guys. There are a ton of mid level guys in free agency and I assume they draft some people. I think we are in a good place.
  14. Stay in KC. Just move to the NFC or the CFL.
  15. Bryce Paup baby!
  16. I am guessing they offered him something like Edwards got. That was not going to get it done. I am very curious what he winds up with.
  17. I like the way Brady started using him later in the year. Early in the year, those OTB check-downs, literally anyone can do that stuff. You play to Kincaid's strengths by using him down the seam and on the Y cross stuff, which is what Brady started doing. So I have super high hopes. Kincaid is a dude.
  18. https://www.patagonia.com/product/mens-classic-retro-x-fleece-jacket/23056.html?dwvar_23056_color=NLTO
  19. They are not drafting an IOL in the first round. Mid-rounds for sure, but if the IOL class is deep why would they spend and early pick on one? That mindset makes no sense. They are going to take big swings in the first and second rounds...WR then DL or vice/versa. They will have to be wary of RT Spencer Brown's impending free agency. Hopefully, they bring him back, if not they will have to start looking for his replacement.
  20. Pretty much the same. This wasn’t my favorite choice and I think we should be concerned. The good thing is that it’s March and Beane is trying to plug holes. I am curious to see what the money is.
  21. The only reason I know who guys like Toohill are is just all the deep dive studying of the draft. Also getting old.
  22. Somehow Tyreek Hill is still idolized. I guess if you are good at sports, it's fine.
