  1. That's the way to go. I bought a Kelly and an Andre Reed for the same reasons. Stuck with a Bledsoe, McGahee, Poz, Dareus, Watkins.
  2. I like the way that 88 looks and I can't wait to see Oliver in uniform. I hate buying jerseys but may need to get an Oliver.
  3. Im higher on Spencer Long than a lot of people here, except for a few. He can play, and to me he is not a natural center. He started at right guard for three years at Nebraska before he was a third round pick. He's a really strong phone booth player, he isn't about quickness. He sat the bench in Washington for a year and was penciled in as their starting right guard. After drafting Brandon Scherff in the top ten to play RT, they decided to move Scherff to guard where he beat out Long. After that, Washington converted him to center and he played well which led to a big contract with the Jets. He struggled playing for O line coach Rick Dennison, and he was injured. He is not a zone player. It was a poor match from the start. I believe that the Bills need to let him compete at RG where he is most comfortable and let him play to his strengths. I think he wins then RG spot, and I believe Quinton Spain will be the left guard. I think Feliciano has a shot, but I don't think he is as talented as the others. Both Feliciano and Long can play center, though neither are natural centers.
  4. That's how I always understood it. And that he doe t have a body for NFL now but he hasn't a good enough frame where he get add some size to it. Add muscle like you said.
  5. It was like 6 plays. He played really well at left tackle, well enough for this regime to trade Corey Glenn when he was next to a competent guard and good center. Having Morse on the line, a better lg next to him, and a new offensive line coach will do wonders for him. He will be fine at LT imo.
  6. If anyone listened to Beane's presser last night, I would say that they still have Dawkins penciled in as the starter at LT. Which agree with. I assume that they were unhappy with his play at the end of the season and after Bobby Johnson watched film, Johnson must feel he can help Dion. Dawkins is very naturally gifted with long arms and good agility. He's a left tackle until he proves he can't do it.
  7. Same. I have a problem with receivers who bobble the ball, double clutch and trip over themselves at 8 yards, making it 4th and 1. We have one of those already.
  8. I was thinking about this as well. I think he did not get the offers he thought he would in the first phase of free agency. After that I think he was really smart to take the best deal he could before the draft. All those dudes out there in free agency who did not take deals before the draft are going to have an even harder finding a job now. So I think tat is why Spain took a lowball deal. As to why there was little interest? Who knows. Stuff like that happens all of the time and guys fall through the cracks.
  9. McDermott has praised DiMarco's leadership and work ethic every single chance he gets. He was a team captain last year as well. McDermott lives him. I hope that his play improves with more power type offense this year. Though I do think we will see a lot of two tight end sets, so less fullback.
  10. Dawkins-Spain-Morse-Long-Ford Agree with Gunner 100%. Feliciano is a coach Johnson guy, but I think Long is the more talented player. Who ever loses the job becomes the main interior backup. Feliciano can also play center. That said, I think it makes some sense to keep Bodine on the roster as the backup center so that Feliciano and Long can focus on being guards. People are definitely sleeping on Long. Nsehke will will be the swing. People need to get off the Dawkins to guard bandwagon. Beane said in his presser that they will have Dawkins at LT that they will try Ford at RT and that he's could also play guard, and the Nsehke gives them some felxibilty becuase he can play both left and right tackle,He said the best two tackles will start, acknowledging that Ford cannot play right. He did not mention Waddle. So in theory the only way all three of those guys starts is if Ford moves to guard...At least in the eyes of Beane. Our regime wants Dawkins and Ford to be the starting tackles imo.
  11. He is long, tall, long arms etc, but he hasn't lifted a ton of weights. You can kind of see that if he adds like 20 lbs of muscle he will gave an NFL body. Right now, he doesn't, and Beane said as much in his presser.
  12. They said in the story he had been introduced to Matt Barkley a while back. Maybe Matt helped recruiting. Btw Barkley is a great guy and I'm glad he is on the team.
  13. Just to add on Shane Ray, he is similar to Jerry Hughes. Similiar in size and story. He's a 4-3 defensive end who got forced into a 3-4 OLB conversion becuase of his lack of size and never really developed. The dude is 25 years old and I think there is still upside if he's allowed to just be a defensive end. He was known for his blazing fast quick step and I feel like he is a guy who has something to prove. That's the move I would make on the defensive line. I like Shaq. I just don't see them picking up the fifth year option which is a great indication that they don't really want him long term.
  14. Trade Zay Jones and maybe Shaq Lawson. Get what you can in 2020 picks. I like Shaq but not sure the will take that fifth year option and I think there are teams out there who might. Not a fan of Zay ano I think he some value and could use a change of scenery...Chargers. See if anyone desperate for line help would throw us a 2020 7th for Vlad Ducasse and a 2020 6th for Russell Bodine. Both are on cheap deals and might be upgrades in other places. I'd be a bit hesitant to move Bodine, but if someone's offers some value you have to take it. Sign Shane Ray as a reclamation project who has some nice pass rush abilty and needs a second chance and a chance to just play defensive end.
  15. I'd offer him to the Chargers right now. They did nothing to replace Tyrell Williams in free agency or the draft. And Jones' WR coach is there. 2020 4th.
  16. I think most people want to replace Zay Jones and improve the bottom of the depth chart. Pretty much everyone is penciling in Foster, Brown and Beasley as the main guys. Though, Foster is going to have to step up with more competition around. The rest is competition and Sills seems like a good option to make it. He and Duke Williams are the only guys who can offer any size. Sills was a highly productive player and he has a strong chance to make it.
  17. You are right. PFF is just basing their grades on numbers. There is no context to their analysis. Their algorithm spits out a grade for a guy like Blake Cashman that is really high and that pushes the Jets total number. It's all weird algorithms and analystics. I hate it but it is interesting to look at. Btw I really like Cashman, but it's his athletic numbers that push the grade high.
  18. And just to add, UDFAs come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes a guy like Robert Foster makes it becuase he has immense talent and played on a team with super talent people and could not get on the field. Sometimes they are guys like Fred Jackson who played really inferior competition and people doubt if they can be productive at the NFL level, and he has to work his ass off to prove himself. And sometimes it's Philip Lindsay, a super productive college player who played big time competition and somehow falls through the cracks. Sills is the Lindsay type of UDFA.
  19. That's why he isn't Brandon Reilly either. Reilly had like 4 career touchdowns and I think we all liked the idea of Reilly, but it was a mirage. Sills is the real deal. Me and a few others were banging the table for him for the past few months and the last couple of days. The one thing that seems evident is that the dude is going to work his ass off, which is going to great for competition in the receiver room.
  20. Nah im not saying that. I'm simply saying that he may have been in touch with the agent and may have had a feeling that Sills would make it through and took the chance. That's all. I think there is a pretty good chance that these guys have some idea of who will sign with them if they go undrafted. Like the Bills likely knew that Robert Foster was going to sign with them if he wasn't drafted, and that's why they drafted Proehl instead. JMO. I think there is a lot more communication like that than we think. Im guessing, and it is a complete guess, that Chad Hall is that guy. Terry Robiskie was the receivers coach and most of his attention would naturally be focused on the starters. The assistant receivers coach in Chad Hall would have been the guy working on Foster on the side imo. Robiskie would not have time for that. This may have had a lot to do with Hall's promotion.
  21. This goes back to that old Sammy Watkins debate, but the cost of the trade was their second fourth. They traded from 112 to 96. The right to move up that many spots cost them 131, which is nothing. And they jumped the Patriots to grab him.
  22. I tend to agree, it should be short and sweet. However I will say that if there were not guest announcers, the broadcast would not show any of the pics announced on day 2 and 3. They would just talk about the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, and Giants. I like the guest presenters becuase it forces them to actually show the picks and analyze a lot of them. Except for Taylor Rapp...when he got picked the Rosen news broke and they totally ignored his pick.
  23. Ray was a RDE as Missouri and that is probably his best position. He is best with his hand in the ground and imo, he was was miscast in Denver's scheme. He's only 25 years old. While he only weights 245 lbs, his arms are long enough and he is very strong. He's about the same size as Eli Harold and I think he still has upside.
  24. A couple of things. We will probably see a bunch of guys realeased in the next few days so that teams can add their draft classes and UDFAs to their 90 man rosters. That said, even now Ansah isn't the only guy around. Shane Ray, Nick Perry, Sam Acho, Josh Martin, Andre Branch are all names still out there. Personally, I'd take a shot on Shane Ray. But I would really wait to see what shakes free before signing Ansah.
  25. Beane must have had pretty good intel that he would not be drafted and that he was likely to sign with them which allowed them to use picks on other guys.
