  1. Looks like Morse got hurt with about 8 minutes left in the 2nd, and looks like Long came in and Feliciano moved over to center. Ford got hurt with 453 left in the third and that's the first time I saw Bates. BTW I think both Long and Bates played pretty well.
  2. Ike Boettger played a ton of RT at Iowa. He's been mostly a guard here, but he has experience playing out there. One of he or Bates is probably the backup. Id like to see Ford build some momentum with consistent playing time there this week.
  3. I played through college, Division 1AA. I've been a varsity football assistant for 13 years, coaching offensive and defensive lines. Went to high school with two guys who went pro.
  4. Lee Smith can play some fullback (he did this quite a bit with the Raiders), and we have enough hybrid players type guys like MoRax, Neal, Coleman, that we should be okay without Thompson. Did he get IR'ed?
  5. Play coverage and keep him in the pocket. Get pressure up the middle with Oliver. I think he controls the game up the middle and the guards will be overmatched.
  6. He's terrible. That's all. A lot of people explained this in that massive Zay Jones thread over the summer. He's been on the field a lot and has been targeted a lot but has not produced....and the numbers say that a lot of his production came when the outcome of games were already determined. (I posted all this in that summer thread so not going to put it here again). In terms of what you could get for him, probably someone else's draft bust. Like Dallas just cut Taco Charlton, that's the kind of return you could expect. Honestly I still think trading Zay to the Niners for Solomon Thomas makes the most sense. Zay is probably a good fit in the Shanahan system (though he will still need to learn how to catch) and Thomas has been a massive disappointment and buried on the depth chart, but would be a great replacement for Harrison Phillips, who could also play some end if needed. Both need a change of scenery.
  7. I think Brown is mostly playing like a #1 right now, but other guys need to step up, whether it be Zay or Foster. I would like to see Duke Williams up. But we are seeing a shift a bit to a more tight end heavy attack, and I do think Tyler Kroft will surprise some when he is finally back. Knox is the guy who we will see continue develop throughout the season. Knox has game breaking potential, which we all saw yesterday. If you look down the list of bad teams, I think one of Robby Anderson and Devante Parker are no brainers to try to acquire. Both are on terrible teams. I really wasn't for an Anderson acquisition earlier this year, but honestly he makes a ton of sense now. It appears that Gase is not a fan of his and that team is obviously in disarray. Even when Darnold was playing, he could not get the ball to Anderson. Robby was also a college teammate of Dion Dawkins if concerned about comfort level and character. Really outside of those two guys, I'm not sure what else could be out there that makes sense, and perhaps it is too early to tell right now.
  8. It's a post-wheel concept which is pretty common, but the fact that there were split backs with a guy motioning into the flats was very similar to what we saw. Good observation. It's definitely a good sign that teams are stealing from us. Can't say that ever happened under Hackett, or any other loser OC we've had.
  9. I hope he gets traded to the Dolphins. I'm guessing he winds up a Cowboy or something like that.
  10. I love how Booger compared him to Favre because their touchdown celebrations were similar.
  11. If you look at his college career and NFL career so far, he really is a victim of circumstance. But he will hang around the league for a while.
  12. Anderson is a loser and a nobody and this is what he has to do to get himself on the map. Like a hockey goon, a no talent player who is willing to drop the gloves. If he was more athletic or had more ability those late hits would actually be sacks.
  13. I believe that belongs to Chris kelsay
  14. Really good mix they put together here. Size, nastiness, and athleticism on the o line is just really what it is all about. Loved what I saw so far.
  15. I agree and thought Morse was really good. Especially for a guy who hasn't played in awhile. A few times guys got beat, but the protection schemes and calls were on point. I also really liked the edge Feliciano plays with. He's going to get penalties here and there and he seems limited athletically, but that boy plays nasty. He was just destroying McClendon and Williams on run plays most of the day. I was really impressed.
  16. It's just a matchup thing. Having DiMarco in there allows them to go fast no huddle, and if the box is friendly, they have a fullback on the field to be a lead blocker if they want to power run. The real solution is to try to find a full back like Kyle Juszczyk, or just use Sweeney or Knox there, guys who are better receivers and can line up in the backfield as a fullback as well.
  17. I jumped up in my section all excited and looked like an idiot
  18. But I will say it is better than listening j-e-t-s jets jets jets fans and their opinions on matters...
  19. I for one loved how they came out to start the game. It was methodical and very New England like ad clearly scripted. Allen was very good, then he fumbled the ball. So much empty early causes teams to open up the box a little bit. I saw nothing wrong with the strategy, but I do wish they would push the ball down the field more.
  20. Aside from Romo they are all pretty terrible imo.
  21. It's a good point, but there just isn't enough time in practice anymore with the CBA and practice rules. Ferguson was a really highly recruited LS who was carried on the practice squad for a while. It's just one of those things. We tried this a few years ago with Ryan Neill who was a defensive end, and it was a disaster.
  22. It's an important skill. I know it seems like it is a waste of a roster spot, but if the snap is not good, or it is not fast enough, every single punt would get blocked.
  23. Don't forget Scott Chandler!
  24. But ist the Bengals, so it almost doesn't really count
