  1. He signed a 1 year deal last year so he is a free agent. Doesn’t mean he can’t sign back, but it seems like he isn’t in the plans. So don’t be too hard on yourself. He wasn’t released....his contract is up.
  2. Former Panther rumored to be a target of ours. Brian Winters may shake loose. Winters is worth a look.
  3. which automatically made him “gritty” and “old school.” I can hear Solomon Wilcots in my head right now. ?
  4. At least when we become Panthers North we are signing good players. Vegas is gathering Bills garbage. Whose next Jordan Mills? ?
  5. His arms are almost as long as Andre Dillard.
  6. Josh needs to find his deep ball. He needs to find the balance between “game manager no turnover guy” and “gunslinger guy.” But if he hits a few deep balls last season, we score a lot more points. To me he has done pretty much everything else right. If he had a guy who could make a contested catch like Diggs, we beat Houston. If they didn’t waste half the season giving meaningful reps to a meaningless Zay Jones, it would have made a difference. If Josh finds the balance, we could be true contenders and can really score some points. In terms of the braintrust, if Josh were to fail, and I truly doubt he will, I would give them the opportunity to draft another quarterback. If that guy failed as well, then you would have to consider a change.
  7. The one thing that helps us is that Desir is a specific scheme fit, for your predominantly zone teams, so you can pretty much cut the number of suitors in half
  8. I suppose thats why there is a mute button
  9. Long lean zone corner from a super small school? Yep makes sense! Carolina did scout him in 2014 so there is some familiarity there.
  10. And with the exact comp pick formulas and process being very secretive, the Pats will get a really high pick for the GOAT Tom Brady, unfortunately.
  11. I think the Patriots and Packers are winning the comp pick formula race so far. We aren’t getting one and I am good with that. Without the possibility of visits with draft picks, the draft this year will be more of a crapshoot than ever. So it seems like Beane went the proven commodity route with this year’s free agency.
  12. So here’s the thing, there is close to zero chance any of those guys will be better than Dawkins over the next few years. You are taking your home grown guy, who was raw coming out, who has developed into an average left tackle with room to grow and replacing him with people who will be a work in progress during our window of contention? Just doesn’t make sense. Like Jackson, he’s raw, very athletic, good length, but is going to need a lot of time and may wind up at guard. I like Isaiah Wilson a lot, but he is a right tackle prospect and I think he is going to be very good. But he is a RT only guy, and like Cody Ford has issues in pass pro he needs to work on. Prince is extremely raw, being a late comer to the sport. His body is long and lean and has to add muscle. He also has extremely short arms so its a long-shot that he stays at LT in the pros. And is probably too small to kick inside. Jones is a nice prospect, but again he is raw and isn’t likely to be ready to start right away. He also has shorter than ideal arms. Cleveland again is another athletic guy, with short arms, who needs to add strength to his frame to hold up against NFL rushers. Even guys like Wirfs and Thomas are likely right tackles in the NFL. My point is none of these people will be instant upgrades at either position and they all have holes in their game that need to get developed. Dawkins has developed. Just a year ago Ford was a raw line prospect who had some struggles. A year under his belt helps him develop. We really want to hit the reset button and start that process over? Cody flashed at times and You do not move him to guard unless you know for sure that he can’t play tackle. Dion may never be an elite LT, but the dude is at the very least above average, and at 25 years old still has room to grow. There are a couple of elite left tackles in the NFL, and then there is everybody else.
  13. Same reason Gal Gadot is singing “imagine” to you. Famous people are insane.
  14. He’s an interesting guy but not quite the change of pace I think we need. I think you would still need more of a complimentary back to Singletary. But Thompson could certainly find a place on this team if he were replacing Yeldon.
  15. Patriots took my fullback upgrade. ?
  16. Point taken. I’m pretty sure Kroft is that guy for them. They signed him to be their starter last year, over a guy like Ebron who was available at the time. Then Kroft got hurt. He was okay when he came back, but aside from Austin Hooper, Kroft is still probably better than any other guys available in free agency. I think Olsen could have been that guy, but obviously he chose another team. I do really like Cole Kmet and he’s on my short list in the second round, though I don’t think he makes it there.
  17. Can this merge with poll one? And can we take Gordon out of the poll? Good discussion in there
  18. Ben is on the beer, cheese, and ribs regiment . I am also on that diet regiment.
  19. It just isn’t that easy. Offensive linemen are so hard to find and there is a huge fail rate. Free agency is littered with failed first rounders like Germaine Ifedi each year. There are no dream team situations, unless you want to wind up like the Rams. The Bills are doing this the right way, a good mix of solid veterans, game breaking young players, and developing players. There is a good chance that Conklin gets hurt again with the Browns. There is always risk.
  20. I hear that. I just think Knox is super raw as a receiver and blocker, but he definitely has upside. He needs a strong offseason (current status in the world isn’t helping) but I think his drops were mostly a kid trying to do too much and being amped up. He tried to turn and run with the ball way too often. Knox was a high school quarterback who was hurt his senior year and sat out. Then walked on at Ole Miss, redshirted and only played in 18 college games. He is a true work in progress. He needs to take a big step up and find consistency, but I do think he is already better than a good number of tight ends in the league.
  21. I just think they believe in Ford and Knox. I think those guys are their starters and if anything they would look for competition. I think the Olsen thing was a special case and he would have replaced Kroft. They believe in their draft picks, which they should. I suppose they could have pursued those guys, and maybe they did. Those guys are clearly better than Ford right now, but i just don’t think it ever makes sense to dump a boatload of cash into the RT position. Its debatable whether or not any guys left on the market are better than Ford. On the tight end situation, it really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a complete in line tight end who can do a lot of things Kroft is better. If you want a receiving tight end who is an athletic freak, then Ebron is better. For what we do offensively and the fact that we have Knox, Kroft is better in my opinion.
  22. Man you know when the Bills put out that official graphic it is truly on! ????
  23. My favorite tight end out there is Nick Vannett. He can block, he’s huge, and he has some pass catching skills. I think there is some potential still there as a former third rounder. All he would be doing is upgrading depth. He isn’t looking for starters at those positions. So maybe he brings in a Greg Van Roten or a Nick Vannett, but those guys would be coming in to compete. There are no upgrades to our starters at those positions out there in my opinion.
  24. I just don’t think Ngakoue is a scheme fit. Obviously I’d love to have a player with his skillset, but I just don’t think McDermott would want to hand out a massive contract to a 240 pound defensive end. Even Jerry Hughes is a questionable fit, but as a rotational player he has been okay. If they are handing out a massive contract to a guy, it has to be a perfect fit like Clowney or a Frank Clark, Demarcus Lawrence type. Bigger ends and defensive linemen so that you can have smaller rangey linebackers like Milano make plays is the MO here. That’s just my 2 cents.
  25. Good safety depth which we sort of lack. I do think we upgrade at safety during the draft. Marlowe is limited but was okay on special teams as well.
