Bridgewater Will Grier PJ Walker and technically Cam Newton
-
Do you agree that he could double as a fullback-tight end? I like the way he plays too.
-
Just fyi, guys in this draft who are technically tight ends but can play play fullback. I know a lot of fullbacks go quite low in the draft, but these guys offer more versatility and can be on the field way more than the traditional fullback. Dalton Keene VA tech Jared Pickney Vanderbilt Thaddeus Moss LSU Josiah Deguara Cincinnati I really like Keene. He reminds me a bit of Juszcyk as a jack of all trades kind of player. Keene also put up some impressive combine numbers. He is also used to doing a million different things at Virginia Tech. The interesting one to me is Moss. If you could convince that kid that he’s basically Juszcyk and going to used all over the field, he could have some ridiculous upside.

Daboll, in the Jets game especially and in the Houston game looked like he was trying to get a mismatch. The went 5 wide with Lee Smith/Kroft and DiMarco in the game. If the other team came out in base defense they would throw, if the defense was in a sub package, they could shift to heavy formation and smash with the run. This is a good strategy but just did not work because Smith and DiMarco do not offer mismatch situations. Texans linebackers were way more athletic than them.
-
Smith I think could. He played some fullback when he was with the Raiders. I’m not sure Sweeney is a good enough blocker at this point, but I could see him taking over these duties in the future.
-
I really wish they went after Dan Vitale as a guy who can do more in the passing game. If the Bills want to have a guy who can block but also split out as a receiver when they go empty sets, they should have pursued Vitale. I don’t have a problem with DiMarco, I just have a problem with the way they use him. If they are going to do more of that stuff they need a Delanie Walker-Kyle Juszcyk type. There are a few of those body types in the draft this year.

I think Jameis was done once he did that whole licking fingers thing. Its almost weirder than Brady kissing everyone. -

Side note on PJ Walker to the Panthers thing, I 100% think that this could make Kyle Allen available. Walker is Matt Rhule’s guy and I’m guessing he is being brought in to compete with Allen behind Bridgewater. The reason I bring it up is that Kyle Allen would be the absolute best pick to be Josh Allen’s backup. They are close, and they train all offseason together with Jordan Palmer. I’m sure Allen would like a chance to start again somewhere, but not sure he will get it. Anyway, the guy has some upside and got a good amount experience last year. Hypothetical, I know, but the perfect fit imo. -

Matt Rhule Temple guy And here’s one more, also a Temple guy: Maybe we sign him next year as linebacker depth? He will be a former Panther at that point. ?♂️ -
I think they are quite different. Kamara is just a ridiculous receiver out of the back field. He’s longer and leaner than Devin. Kamara to me is a different type if runner. Singletary is like a little bowling ball, with deceptive speed and burst who makes quick cuts to make guys miss. Very much a LeSean McCoy type. He has some Travis Henry in him minus the terrible life decisions. He actually reminds me a lot of Garrison Hearst minus the long speed (he ran a 4.38!).

Parham would be an interesting grab. Raw small school guy who has some upside. I think I remember reading he came to football really late in life, so the rawest of the raw. But an interesting guy. The easy connection to make is Artis-Payne as a former Carolina draft pick. Not sure he moves the needle. -
On the Pennington discussion, he was drafted 18th overall. Burrow is going 1 and you are passing on a generational talent like Chase Young to take him. So I think its different. To me this is like taking Sam Bradford over Suh and McCoy. Remember that Bradford threw 50 TD passes for that loaded Sooners team as a Sophomore. I think Burrow will be good, I just don’t know that he is that much of an upgrade over Dalton that I would pass on Young, or 3 first rounders. But I think it comes down to how much you like Burrow.
-
If I’m the Bengals I try to trade down for a haul like this, if not I just take Chase Young. I actually don’t like Burrow. I mean the dude threw 60 touchdowns, unbelievable. But just something about his game I don’t love. I just don’t think he’s going to be great in the pros. Ironically, I think its a very Andy Dalton-ish career. I’d just take Young and role with Andy.

Totally agree with you, but the biggest difference, unfortunately, is that they won six championships. So if they have a little dip, it’s no big deal. I do hope they wind up in qb purgatory for the next 20 years also, but somehow I think Belichick will figure it out. All that aside, our team is bow equipped to beat those guys anyways, even if they figure it out. -
If they don’t match they get the other teams second round pick. In theory a team that really wants him could negotiate different compensation with the Niners, like a 4th rounder or something, but that rarely happens. Sometimes a team puts the tender on a guy in hopes of trading him later for something less.

I know that I am in the minority on this one, but I actually really like Jarret Stidham. He’s got a lot of tools, really athletic, good arm, smart, big time high school recruit. I studied a ton of Auburn film, so I do like his game. He’s not going to be Brady obviously, but I could see him be a Dak Prescott type of guy who might be good with a good running game. That said they should trade anybody who is good and tank for Lawrence. But as others have said, as currently constructed, they might be too good. I’m interested to see how differently the refs call the games now that the golden boy is gone. -

I’m supposed to come here and say he sucks now right? I wanted him the other day, but he signed elsewhere so now he’s terrible. ??? -

Yep. I have a hard time understanding what the Jets are doing actually. I think McGovern is a good add and I always liked Alex Lewis. They still need two tackles. Fant is not the answer. They must either be working on something big like Clowney or a Trent Williams trade because their offseason has been strangely conservative. -

Breshad Perriman vs Draftng a WR
MrEpsYtown replied to r henderson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The problem with him and the construction of the roster is that he isn’t going to play very much. He just wouldn’t get enough snaps here to justify the contract he might get. A rookie or Foster or even a Rashard Higgins are better suited to that role. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have him, but there are teams out there who can offer him a bigger role in the offense. -
Would you trade Trent Murphy for Rashaad Penny?
MrEpsYtown replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to be honest, but I put myself through the torture off rewatching the Houston game on NFL Network yesterday, and I know someone else pointed it out somewhere on this site, but Murphy was one of the best players on field. If that’s the fully healthy Murphy we are getting this season, then he will be worth the price tag. So unless they wind up with a Clowney type or trade for a guy like that, Murphy stays. And if we had Stefon Diggs, we win that game handily.
