  1. I actually wanted Campbell last year. I am guessing he and the Packers do everything to keep him there, because it seems he finally found a home. But that dude is a good player and has been for some time, but he's a nomad.
  2. Yeah I could see Daboll pulling Hall or even Rob Boras, so if you are Buffalo, I guess you have to decide who you want to promote out of those three guys.
  3. Donte Jackson is kind of an interesting conversation as a DB. Former Panther who was drafted to play in Ron Rivera's system. You want speed? 4.32 40 works. He is somewhat slight of build and has had an up and down career so far with coaching changes and injuries and such. But I think the potential is there. Former teammate of Tre White at LSU, who advocated for the front office to draft Jackson in 2018. Maybe he was on our radar, but he went in the second round, and we traded those picks to move up for Josh and Tremaine. I do not think he will be back in Carolina, and quite honestly would be a big upgrade that will likely come at a reasonable cost. At about the 12 second mark, watch him chase down Jaylen Waddle: Some rookie year highlights, playing for Rivera:
  4. On the Daboll/Dorsey conversation, Dorsey is not necessarily his guy. Maybe he has become his guy. Dorsey is a Rob Chudzinski/Mike Shula guy. In fact, with Dorsey's relative inexperience, they should bring in Chudz or Shula as a special assistant or QBs coach under Dorsey who should be our OC. I can't see Dorsey turning down the OC job here to go with Daboll. Daboll has worked with a number of guys out there who could be his OC, so he doesn't necessarily have to scoop Dorsey. Now if McDermott has someone else in mind as an OC, then that is a different story.
  5. Watching Rich Eisen talk about Josh got me a little. I'm still in a little bit of a rut on it.
  6. Well, Gilmore is finally a former Panther, so that just may work
  7. To me Scherff has made a ton of money already. I am not saying he will come cheap, but I don't think he is looking to become the league's highest paid guard. I think he's the kind of guy who will want to find the right fit and win. Just my guess with no actual proof. High RAS score guy, who is an elite player. He's they guy I would pursue in this class. I don't love Conor Williams. I never really liked his game. But if they are turning the corner to going after high RAS guys, then Williams fits. He is long and tall, but lighter and athletic. He also holds a lot. But there is upside there. He is still very young and came out raw. If we are talking a young guard with upside, James Daniels is the guy. High RAS score. He was extremely young coming out and has since put on weight and gotten bigger and stronger. Extremely up and down career so far because of injury, but he's ready to lift off imo Corbett and Boseman are interesting guys, I like Bozeman more, but those are the types of guys teams like the Jets over pay for. I get there isn't a ton of money, but I think they get an o-line upgrade and a receiver upgrade.
  8. To me Scherff is the guy who ties this o-line together. And you have to think he is looking for a change and wanting to win. Andrew Norwell makes sense too, as a guy just below Scherff. DJ Chark would add a different dynamic, and his still young with upside coming off an injury again. If we get away from the small slot guy, Mike Gesicki, PSU guy with upside. I hate him, because he always makes plays against us, so go get him. two tight end sets, with he and Knox would create an interesting Dynamic, along with Diggs and Davis...those are some big, fast weapons.
  9. I think maybe guys in situations like Jerick McKinnon was last year. Signed a 1 year prove it, vet minimum deal, and now he is coming out smelling like roses because Mahomes and the rest of that team made him look good. BTW that is the type of player that would open up the offense even more. A guy who can run it between the tackles, but is also a really good receiver. Cordarrelle Patterson, McKinnon, JD McKissic (for real this time), perhaps a blazing Raheem Mostert coming off an injury. Increase team speed and flexibility.
  10. Definitely true. My point is that I would like to see some of those elements in what we are doing defensively to add a layer of difficulty and intrigue. There really is no right or wrong way. I was just answering the question about comp picks.
  11. Personally, and this won't be popular, but I don't think it matters. They probably should have squibbed, but, wherever it was squibbed to, or if it was a high pop up kick, the clock doesn't start until the guy catches and starts running. If Bass squibbed it to the ten and Pringle kneeled on it, they still get in field goal position. They still have 13 seconds and three time outs. That is an eternity for Mahomes when you play the BS Dick Jauron prevent which allowed Mahomes to get rid of it quick.
  12. He was available for nothing last year and the year before and nobody wanted him. He showed some nice progress, but this is not something that people should be going crazy over. I think he tests the market as he should, but there is no guarantee he won't be back. If he decided he is gone already, it is because they want him gone. I think he should be brought back if the price is right, but I think we see a lot of turnover in the return game and in our receiving corps outside of Diggs and Davis.
  13. Oh defensive name I totally forgot about is Steve Wilks, who is coaching in college right now. Another interesting defensive guy off that McDermott tree is Sam Mills III, who is WFT's D line coach, who I think is an interesting guy going forward.
  14. It's because he is drafting for need in the rounds 2-3 area and that is always the wrong move imo. Just take BPA every round.
  15. I think it is possible if people over draft those quarterbacks like they always do. If GMs use their brains, there is no chance. If they overdraft crap quarterbacks, that will push talent down the board. But if I were a betting man, I think he goes to the Eagles with one of those three!! picks in that 10-20 range
  16. Linderbaum might be the best center to come out in 20 years. Gotta pull the trigger if he is sitting there.
  17. Agreed. He is going to BPA in that area, should be a top ten pick but won't because he is a center. I'm 100% good on that. Can't draft for need.
  18. You know what I find frustrating? McDermott was a disciple of the late Jim Johnson. Coach Johnson's defense was very aggressive and punched you in the mouth, sometimes to a fault. I think Coach needs to go back and look at some of that stuff and try to marry some of those zone blitz concepts. Steve Spagnola is a branch off the same tree, and what you see from him is a bit more Johnson and the attacking mentality. We need some of that back.
  19. If Daboll goes, you are probably getting Ken Dorsey as the OC and Mike Shula as QB coach.
  20. Mike Zimmer makes a lot of sense. Fangio is a 3-4 guy. A lot of what they do is 4-3 under type stuff, but not sure it meshes with McDermott. Brian Flores would be awesome. Patrick Graham, who is a Belicheat/Flores disciple would be an interesting fit as well. Bring back Jim Schwartz. Or call me crazy, but is there anyone on the planet who knows what McDermott wants to do defensively more than Luke Kuechly? Dude is brilliant and knows exactly what coach wants. Everyone else is hiring young guys without experience, why not us? All that said, if Frazier gets another job is or is let go (which I think is highly unlikely) I think they just promote their DBs coach John Butler.
  21. I think the Mack idea has legs. He was hurt this year. Plus there will be a new GM and coach and they do not have a first round pick. So whoever the new GM is will want to recover a pick. Now is Mack worth a late first at this point? I would say yes for us. It is the perfect fit. I mentioned Bradley Chubb in another thread Again new coach coming in, a guy who will be on a fifth year option who needs a change of scenery. I mentioned doing Edmunds for Chubb. Now I don't know if he is really the answer. He was terrible this year, and hurt. WFT...I'd target Montez Sweat. Will they part with him? Maybe not. But they won't be able to pay all of those guys. They don't have to worry about it yet, but I'd trade my first for him in a heartbeat. They also need a linebacker very badly. Do they like Edmunds? Outside of that, you have to look to other teams who will have a ton of turnover and will want to bring in "their own" guys. Or you look to the draft and hope you get a Watt type at the tail end of the first.
  22. I would love Mack. I have to say, our pass rush wasn't good obviously, but it was so vanilla. No sort of gaming, twists, zone blitz type stuff. But Mack makes a ton of sense. We are in that late first round right now, kind of like the Diggs trade, where moving that pick for a known commodity won't kill us. Look to Washington, where they will not be able to re-sign all of those first round d-linemen. Depending who the Broncos bring in to coach, would they do Chubb for Edmunds? I would. Both guys could maybe use a fresh start. 5th year option for 5th year option. And then you have free agents like Von Miller, Chandler Jones, melvin Ingram. Just throwing ideas out there, but there needs to be some change at all three levels of the defense imo.
  23. Diggs. I just keep thinking about that image from last year. I think he takes the game over. He has that burning desire capsulized.
  24. He plays like rookie year Josh. I do think he really has not been coached, but I lean towards your conclusion that he sucks. Maybe Daboll can turn him into a Ryan Tannehill lite. If he fixes the turnover issues, something can be rectified there. He will never be anything close to Josh.
