TSW Mock Draft 3.0 - 4 Rounds - Complete!!!
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I almost took Harrison but I was afraid I would lose Trautman and went through the whole draft without any offense yet. Backed myself into a corner a bit. Great pick and I agree I like how Harrison fits into that defense and as Gunner said, super happy that you are not the actual Jets GM. Unless you are Joe Douglas on a burner account?????? -

The Ravens have gone all defense so far, but finally switch to offense and get what they believe could be the steal of the draft. With the 92nd pick in the 2020 draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton. 6-5, 255, long wingspan. I have not seen this guy play aside from the Senior Bowl and highlights, but the more I study, the more I really think this guy could be something special. His background story is a bit Josh Allen and bit Dawson Knox. He played quarterback in high school, was really skinny, was offered a preferred walk on spot with Michigan State, but Dayton really wanted him and he felt wanted there, so he went there. He decided it might make sense to switch to tight end so that he can showcase his athleticism. Anyway, long story short he got on the Ravens and the Colts radar as a junior and has worked himself into an interesting prospect at tight end. He is not super fast straight line, but his 3 cone time was the 5th best from a tight end since 2006, so his short area quickness is elite. He played at a lower level of competition, but he dominated there with 23 touchdowns the last two years. When you watch his highlights, you see a ton of contested catches, and I don't care what level a guy plays on, that is a skill that translates. I think he will need a little time to adjust to the pro game, but the Ravens have Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle (who is more of a blocker) so he can have some time while giving the Ravens some juice on offense, especially in the red zone. With the trade of Hayden Hurst, it makes sense for the Ravens to grab a replacement and is one of the BPAs at this point. The Jests and @MAJBobby are now on the clock. @Virgil -
I hear what you are saying, but if something better comes along you make moves. They are still in the business of winning games. Players don’t think sentimentally like that. It’s a business and they know it. Jordan Phillps and Shaq are gone and replaced. Spain would be gone if the price wasn’t right. Zay Jones got tossed like yesterday’s garbage. Players would be sad to see Milano replaced, but would be more fired up that their GM was aggressive and acquired an elite player like Kwon.

I’ll say this, if he was playing, and as you noted, that’s a big if, he’s totally takling Deshaun Watson at the end of that playoff game. He’s just better. But he has been hurt. I’d rather have a somewhat risky, but elite player in Kwon, who I have to give up a pick for at 13 million than pay Milano 13 million.

That's the fun in it. My wife thinks I am nuts studying the draft and getting upset when guys are getting scooped up in this mock draft. -
I'm not sure what those numbers mean, but I do know Kwon has been injured the last couple of years and it seems to skew that score. All I can say is he's just better than Matt, and he is the best linebacker on this list, though it is close with Jaylon Smith. And I love Matt Milano, but Kwon is better. So if we are talking similar salaries, I'd rather pay Kwon.

Anybody want to do a NFL Draft Zoom?

There I fixed it. -
I’d take Kwon Alexander off their hands in a heartbeat to play WILL. It would mean the end of Milano. But Kwon is awesome and has a nice connection with Leslie Frazier. And FYI, Kwon is a month younger than Matt Milano. I’d rather take Kwon’s contract than pay Matt 13 million per. No thanks on Dee Ford.

It feels very Doug Whaley esque. But I do think it is possible. The spent all of free agency improving the defense, so I could see them spending the draft on offense. -

High motor baby! -
Well the definition of "high motor guy" has not changed. You've got your Wilikies and Tszuskas of the world. I was not on this board, but I thought Blaine Gabbert was going to be something truly special. I also really liked Joey Harrington back in the day. So we all have moments.

At 54 the Bills will take? Your guess here!!
MrEpsYtown replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering there may not be OTAs and rookie training camps and such. I think it is very possible. I think there will be a huge run on offensive tackles early, even some guards and centers and I think that will push skills guys down I think teams are going to go safe this year with more OL-DL guys. We saw a lot of tackles go last year and the offensive tackles in this draft are better imo. I also think that the running backs will got earlier than expected for the same reason, as a lot of those guys can plug and play and contribute year 1. I think the high risk-high reward guys may drop a bit. -

Hall's scouting report and style reads like a McDermott corner to a tee. -

My take on all this is that this is not a great draft. I hope Beane packages picks to move up and get better players. And I hope he drafts a punter in Mann. If ever there was a year to spend a pick on one, this seems to be the year. -
I would count him as a shot at some upside. If he doesn't appear to be anything close to his old self, I would not even want him as depth.
-
Yep. Even Maurice Jones-Drew was Maurice Drew during draft time. He knew better.
-
Tony Khan is spending way too much time with the guys in All Elite Wrestling. Pro wrestling locker rooms truly twist your mind and make you change your view on the world, because a pro wrestling locker room has standards that are very different than the rest of the world. Tony Khan cutting a promo. I'm surprised he didn't end with "if you smeeellllllllll what the Khan is cooking."
-
Yep, 28 goin on 29.
-
I guess I'm asking if you think Harrison can play some SAM?
-
IMO it is only crowded if you count Duke, McKenzie, Foster as anything other than depth.
