  1. Linderbaum might be the best center to come out in 20 years. Gotta pull the trigger if he is sitting there.
  2. Agreed. He is going to BPA in that area, should be a top ten pick but won't because he is a center. I'm 100% good on that. Can't draft for need.
  3. You know what I find frustrating? McDermott was a disciple of the late Jim Johnson. Coach Johnson's defense was very aggressive and punched you in the mouth, sometimes to a fault. I think Coach needs to go back and look at some of that stuff and try to marry some of those zone blitz concepts. Steve Spagnola is a branch off the same tree, and what you see from him is a bit more Johnson and the attacking mentality. We need some of that back.
  4. If Daboll goes, you are probably getting Ken Dorsey as the OC and Mike Shula as QB coach.
  5. Mike Zimmer makes a lot of sense. Fangio is a 3-4 guy. A lot of what they do is 4-3 under type stuff, but not sure it meshes with McDermott. Brian Flores would be awesome. Patrick Graham, who is a Belicheat/Flores disciple would be an interesting fit as well. Bring back Jim Schwartz. Or call me crazy, but is there anyone on the planet who knows what McDermott wants to do defensively more than Luke Kuechly? Dude is brilliant and knows exactly what coach wants. Everyone else is hiring young guys without experience, why not us? All that said, if Frazier gets another job is or is let go (which I think is highly unlikely) I think they just promote their DBs coach John Butler.
  6. I think the Mack idea has legs. He was hurt this year. Plus there will be a new GM and coach and they do not have a first round pick. So whoever the new GM is will want to recover a pick. Now is Mack worth a late first at this point? I would say yes for us. It is the perfect fit. I mentioned Bradley Chubb in another thread Again new coach coming in, a guy who will be on a fifth year option who needs a change of scenery. I mentioned doing Edmunds for Chubb. Now I don't know if he is really the answer. He was terrible this year, and hurt. WFT...I'd target Montez Sweat. Will they part with him? Maybe not. But they won't be able to pay all of those guys. They don't have to worry about it yet, but I'd trade my first for him in a heartbeat. They also need a linebacker very badly. Do they like Edmunds? Outside of that, you have to look to other teams who will have a ton of turnover and will want to bring in "their own" guys. Or you look to the draft and hope you get a Watt type at the tail end of the first.
  7. I would love Mack. I have to say, our pass rush wasn't good obviously, but it was so vanilla. No sort of gaming, twists, zone blitz type stuff. But Mack makes a ton of sense. We are in that late first round right now, kind of like the Diggs trade, where moving that pick for a known commodity won't kill us. Look to Washington, where they will not be able to re-sign all of those first round d-linemen. Depending who the Broncos bring in to coach, would they do Chubb for Edmunds? I would. Both guys could maybe use a fresh start. 5th year option for 5th year option. And then you have free agents like Von Miller, Chandler Jones, melvin Ingram. Just throwing ideas out there, but there needs to be some change at all three levels of the defense imo.
  8. Diggs. I just keep thinking about that image from last year. I think he takes the game over. He has that burning desire capsulized.
  9. He plays like rookie year Josh. I do think he really has not been coached, but I lean towards your conclusion that he sucks. Maybe Daboll can turn him into a Ryan Tannehill lite. If he fixes the turnover issues, something can be rectified there. He will never be anything close to Josh.
  10. I run a ton of G-T QB Bash Counter with my high school team. The play is dirty, and Josh gives us the ability to do something like that. Aside from Lamar Jackson, no one else is doing those things. You can also tag RPOs to the thing
  11. The Alpha Male Monty Brown with an appearance. But man the game was so much more violent. So many plays there would be considered illegal now, which is a good thing. Just an observation.
  12. Though, Linderbaum probably projects to be better than Humphrey imo. But he's on the smaller side and the position is seriously undervalued, so I think/hope he is in our wheelhouse:
  13. I wish they used him to blitz more. I think he’s fine where he is, it is just difficult to quantify his value. I think he does what the team asks him to do. I think he’d make a million plays in a Baltimore type attacking 3-4. That said, that tipped pass play that AJ Klein made was all instinct and I am not sure Tremaine will ever make that type of play. I hope he does.
  14. Tyler Linderbaum from Iowa is probably in the wheelhouse of where we are projected to draft. Tough to find a quality center in free agency, but the 20-30 range in the draft is a great spot. Draft Linderbaum and sign a Sherff or Norwell and I would be a pretty happy fan.
  15. Dion and Brown start next year. And probably Morse. I think its 1 more year for Morse. I think he plays out the contract. Boettger is an injured UFA and Bates is a RFA. I think you resign Bates and maybe he replaces Morse eventually. Ford is still on a rookie contract 1 more year and Williams and Feliciano have some dead cap if cut. I think Doyle has really nice upside, at the very least as a swing guy. But I think he can play guard too. I think Andrew Norwell or Brandon Scherff are targets in free agency.
  16. I think Bates has earned another game to start. I think he looked a little better at RG than he did on the left side. I also thought that Cody Ford looked the best he ever did when he as playing next to Dion at LG before he got hurt last year. I think our best line combo is Dion-Ford-Morse-Bates-Brown. That’s what I would do. Bates seems very good in pass pro and your RG often times winds up with a 1 on 1. I think Williams has been ok, but not great. Having Williams and Feliciano on the bench is bot the worst thing. With the drafting of Brown and Doyle, who both scored elite RAS, as well as the Lamp (also elite) signing and even drafting of Jack Anderson, I hope they have realized the need for more athletic linemen in the league today. In fact, I hope they can get Anderson or Lamp back if they wind up on practice squads again. Another great thing about having Bates in there is that he has to know the pass protection calls on the same level as Morse. Essentially, you have two protection experts on the same line, so I saw what looked to be much better communication and execution in pass pro the other day.
  17. Two things that still really bother me…trading Teller and drafting Zay Jones instead of Cooper Kupp. Just hard to get over. I like Ike Boettger a lot, but this really puts his career in a weird place. I bet they go after Brandon Scherff or Andrew Norwell. Get well soon Ike.
  18. Dawkins came in at LT, Bates Moved over to LG, Williams bumped in to RG and Brown flipped over to RT.
  19. I like the way Bates played. But I think the difference was Morse. I thought he had a very good game. If he plays they way he is capable I think it makes a huge difference. Brown and Bates are both guys with ridiculous RAS numbers athletically. We looked more athletic out there today.
  20. I feel terrible for Ike man. Get well soon man.
  21. Who are the announcers in that game? They are just awful
  22. He definitely looked legit today. Always had the speed, but I thought his route running was really on point today. I’ve never been the prez of the McKenzie fan club, so I must admit I was pleasantly surprised and I think he is a legit guy going forward.
  23. Ryan Bates is pretty good guys. He’s doing a nice job
  24. I think Taylor Decker is keeping the seat warm and holds the job for a year or two while Sewell develops
