  1. Just sign DJ Chark. You are getting the same type of physical specimen without having to give up draft pick compensation.
  2. He drops too many passes for me. He improved there a lot this past year. But in the playoffs, when it mattered most, he had some critical drops. With Allen's velocity, I don't like the fit.
  3. I mentioned him the other day. Perfect fit. Cover 1 reading around here?
  4. It is an extension of the Rooney rule, that does not seem to be working.
  5. David Sills is already there. If they bring Brandon Reilly in, that will be some troll job.
  6. Not necessarily. I want more draft capital so the aren't afraid to use a pick for a specialist. Third seems rich, but Mitch Wishnowsky when in the beginning of the 4th. I think the 80 yard legatron dude probably goes end third round comp pick area.
  7. I mean Peyton Manning credits Caldwell with his development. So I'll go with Peyton's opinion on that one. Matt Stafford as well.
  8. He sucks, but he has a lot of energy and his Dad has a ton of connections and is well liked. Denver probably thinks they are getting McVay.
  9. Is it the Mason Rudolph show? Bills message board dream!
  10. Maybe he brings in Jason Garrett as OC? Caldwell makes a lot of sense as well
  11. I want those comp picks so we can draft that punter guy
  12. Frazier to Chicago was our best shot imo. Hopefully Daboll turns down the Giants...that is our next best shot.
  13. Eh, I just don't understand why the Bears wouldn't go with an experienced HC. But this hire is going to come down to who he gets as his OC to work with Fields. And that is no knock to Eberflus. I just think it is a weird process.
  14. Yes and no imo. It means he is replaceable. And I think Mathieu is replaceable at this point in his career. I think they do re-sign him, but I think he is down the priority list for them, just not as important as Orlando Brown Jr. Maybe they turnover their secondary like the did their O-line last year.
  15. Outside of White, our outside corners are too slow. That is where the change needs to come imo. Speed in the secondary is the issue imo. No reason to re-sign Wallace, as Dane Jackson gives you the same production.
  16. Evans and Brown regressed a ton under Haslett. i don't hate it, but I think there will be stronger DC candidates out there if Frazier does move on.
  17. I agree...but the Chiefs are 100% in this team's head.
  18. Meh. They need to re-sign Orlando Brown, and they will. Other than that, guys are replaceable. This past offseason they replaced all 5 offensive linemen and some defensive players and they were fine. The just beat us without Honey Badger.
  19. The Colts only won 1 Super Bowl because of Tom Brady. It didn't matter who the Colts coach was. All of the hate McDermott is getting is leaving out the part that Patrick Mahomes et al are really good. McDermott has made tactical errors, but he has made a number of mistakes his first couple of years and has certainly shown he has learned from them. He will learn from this and be better. Yeah it should have never happened, and if it happens again, see ya later. There has to a growth mindset and an understanding that there is a process and people get better. They will pivot a bit and do more to surround Josh with better players and continue to develop our own. That's my 2 cents.
  20. This is the correct answer. You can't rush 4, spy, and cover. We lacerate Edmunds on this board, but people want to add more and more to his plate.
  21. Ok, so to preface, I love McDermott. I think he does a good job, and he has taken this team out of the abyss. That said, this is his fault. A few points...so i am a high school football coach, and have been since 2007. As an assistant for many years, I was in charge the offensive and defensive lines, and special teams and relaying calls to our kicker. The head coach I worked with was a bit of a control freak and never let the assistants make their own calls. There were so many times, when I begged and pleaded him to tell me what he wanted...squib, deep, onside, rugby punt etc etc. And there were many times when he would completely ignore me and then be upset with the call that was made on the field. He wasn't ignoring on purpose...he was so enamored and distracted by what we are going to do on offense and defense and what play he was going to call next, that he just did not let special teams enter his mind. Now I am a head coach and I do not call plays. I let my trusted assistants call and send in play calls so that I can pay attention to the flow of the game and make critical decisions and manage the clock. Now I get it, its high school so obviously very different. But I think McDermott was so caught up in what defense they were going to play, that he allowed this mistake to happen. In my mind he should allow Frazier to make the calls and have his special teams coordinator trained in a way so that he knows that coach wants a squib in that situation. It's about communication and preparation and making sure your guys know what you want in situational football. I think the moral of the story is that Coach McDermott has to stop thinking like a defensive coordinator and think like a head coach. I do believe he will learn from this. This situational stuff is what the Belichick's of the world excel in, but it takes time to get there. Andy Reid was the absolute worst at situational football. Now he is one of the best.. Every situation is always covered and so there are no surprises and confusion in the moment. Heath Farwell should not be axed over this, unless he ignored a directive from coach McDermott. No one should be fired. Everyone simply needs to get better.
  22. I do think there is a chance Trubisky is back if another opportunity does not materialize. That said, I think the backup next year is Kyle Allen. I don't know if the WFT tender him considering he is coming of an injury. I think you bring in K. Allen and he competes with Davis Webb. Allen is a young guy with upside who won't give away the game. The other guy that makes a ton of sense is Jacoby Brissett. He is a UFA and he has some starting experience. he is also versed in the E-P offensive system. I think he is about as solid you can get on a backup. No thanks to Fitzy.
