NFL Trade Deadline Primer update on page 15
MrEpsYtown replied to MAJBobby's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Kwon is a nice get. Not sure why the Niners moved him. Also not sure how the Saints always find a way to squeeze the cap. Also I would like them to send us Trey Hendrickson. -
To me the issue with trades is that we don’t have a 4th which was part of the trade for Diggs. Obviously great trade, but there seems to be a lot of guys on the market who could be had for a 4th, but maybe not a fifth. I’m not willing to part with any of our first three picks unless we are talking elite guys. Ideally we try to find a way to pry Trey Hendrickson loose from the Saints. Not sure they part with him, but they won’t be able to re-sign him and he is just starting to make his mark. Most realistic target right now is Kyler Fackrell, one a 1 year deal, provides pass rush and can play off the ball as a linebacker. The Giants make sense as a partner as they have no fifths. Do two fifths and a seventh get me Fackrell and Dalvin Tomlinson? I doubt it, but there is a Carolina connection. What is Tomlinson worth? What would Engram cost? Kyler Rudolph makes sense too, but Vikings have something like two 4th, three 5ths, two sixths...something like that so not sure they would love more 5ths. I see, a 5th for Fackrell, and a 7th for Jacob Hollister.

Agreed. Was just about to post this. Wood beat me to it. -
Bills to work out TE Alex Ellis
MrEpsYtown replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it is one of those change of scenery type deals. The guy has potential, but will probably never be good in NY. -
Bills to work out TE Alex Ellis
MrEpsYtown replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Foster Moreau is a guy i really like. He’s been pushed down the depth chart and is running #3 right now behind Waller and Witten. It might be worth a look, or at least an inquiry. The Evan Engram idea makes sense depending on the cost. Maybe make a call to the Seahawks. Jacob Hollister is also running #3 on their depth chart behind Olsen and Dissly, plus he’s got that chemistry with Josh Allen and knowledge of the offense from his days with the Pats. -

They should find a fullback, sign Johnny Stanton off the Browns practice squad, and use Gilliam as a real TE2. I am also hoping for a Sweeney return at some point. -
So Tell me about Jordan Devey
MrEpsYtown replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has to be Ike Boettger at LG. It’s either him or Ryan Bates. The fact that Ike came in when Ford got hurt last week, makes me think he’s the guy there this week. -
What really sucks about that graphic on cap space is the fact that we have quantity without quality...a bunch of meh players making too much. At least Indy, Philly, KC, ATL, Pitt, LA, Cincy, Cleveland, and Dallas have top tier “best in the league” guys on those defensive lines. I’d rather have quality over quantity.

Realistic Trade Scenario- One player
MrEpsYtown replied to McBean's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m going Carlos Dunlap. He makes sense on a lot of levels, but he is also signed for next year so not a pure rental. I know we said one but my others Tak McKinley, Kevin Zeitler. -
Quinton Spain released; signs with Bengals PS
MrEpsYtown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the fact that they kept him over Teller and Spencer Long is meaningful. Also, when they released Ike briefly a couple of years ago, he was quickly scooped up by KC. I think people around the league like his potential. -

Seems like from the other comments that he kind of checked himself out with a foot injury this week. On a positive note, I think they really like Ike Boettger. Maybe he’s ready to assume more responsibility. -

MrEpsYtown replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I liked Spain, but his career is very dubious. Undrafted out of WVU when he clearly had draft able talent. Then has a really nice run with the Titans who have zero interest in re-signing him. Goes to UFA and its crickets for him and he signs a pretty modest deal with us. Resigns here, with pretty much no competition for his services, and now this. Just a really weird run that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Good luck to him. -
Why can’t Barkley be the placeholder?
MrEpsYtown replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hindsight 20/20, we should have drafted Braden Mann instead if the Bass man. Bojo sucks and maybe Bass would have still been available later or we could have stuck with Hauschka. Mann should have been the pick because he would have been an immense upgrade, whereas the kicking battle was more 50/50. -
Knox is sooooo raw. Patience is important here. The drops can be fixed. He also pancaked a guy on McKenzie’s touchdown. I think he has that potential to be a top guy and I think he will be. Remember, and I write this alot, but the guy was a high school QB who walked on at ole miss and became a tight end, and really didn't play a whole lot. He will get there. Tight ends sometimes take a while. Knox is Jeremy Shockey, who had a ton of issues with drops early in his career, but to me, this is the same guy. The upside is there and something we have not had at the position in a very long time. Just to add, I hope we see Tommy Sweeney again soon. He can help this team.

We Need Elite Pass Rushers
MrEpsYtown replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I think guys on teams going nowhere can be had. Maybe a Tak McKinley or a Kyler Fackrell who are both pending UFAs on losing teams. I might give the Bengals a call on Carl Lawson who is also set to be a free agent. Trades may be hard to come by, but I think those guys can be had. A guy I really like, who is starting to come into his own and finally developed is Trey Hendrickson down in NO. Now will they trade him? I highly doubt it, but he should be a free agent target of ours. Hey maybe the Jets are willing to trade Jordan Jenkins who is “tired of losing.” I know its in division, but they made a trade with the Giants last year and Jenkins is a pending free agent as well. We need some sort of shot in the arm. At the end of the day, none of these guys are elite pass rushers because they are just hard to come by. I’d like to see less Murphy and Hughes and more Daryl Johnson and AJ Epenesa. -
How about them Ohio State quarterbacks! 🤢🤮

*blink* what'd Rapoport do? off air until 10/22

That thing is freaking sharp as hell. Feels like Wolverine is shaving your stuff....close shave, but one slip up and its like the elevator scene in the Shining. -
Need to trade for a pass rusher
MrEpsYtown replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We need to start talking about Daryll Johnson. What seemed like training camp, small school fodder last season, is turning into a dude. He is the prototype in terms of size and length but he also has a ton of speed. How many base defensive ends run down on the kickoff team? Every time this guy plays he makes an impact and I think he has a real future here. He needs to play more as his pass rush is producing results. I think we have a real gem on our hands. -
This 100%. Announcers talk way too much and bombard the game rather than letting it breath. And they use the same outplayed lingo. Just awful.
-
This is all about getting the most out of Ford and finding a home. I assume that they love what Daryl Williams is doing and he is young enough (and needs to be re-signed) that it makes sense to put your former second round pick in the best place to succeed. Winters, Spain, Feliciano are not important imo when it comes to the choices they are making here. This is all about Ford.

Seems Cody Ford is settling in at OG
MrEpsYtown replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He looks very very good there. And playing between Dion and Morse gives him the protection he needs to develop, whereas, out there at RT he was on an island to himself a lot of times. Of course in hindsight, you don't love spending a high draft pick on a left guard, but he certainly has some tools there and the play of Daryl Williams allows them the luxury to do this. -
Some of my random O line thoughts... Honestly, to me, that was the most natural and competent Cody Ford has looked his entire career. That left guard spot may be a nice home for him. Being between Dion and Morse is a nice place to settle in. I’ve been a “leave Ford at RT guy,” but I was really impressed with his play yesterday. I think Ford may have found a home. The power in his game was evident and his pass protection was better than it has been. I think he may be a phone booth player, and that guard spot may truly be a place for him to excel. Ford was sloppy on some outside zone stuff, but this team should be running more power O stuff and less zone stuff. Outside of Morse, these are not zone style linemen. Go steal fullback Johnny Stanton off of the Browns practice squad and start running some power plays. I think that would also help Zach Moss get going. Singletary is awesome btw. And how about whipping boy TJ Yeldon? Dude looked explosive and fast, and fresh. I think he should have a bigger role here. He can be a dynamic receiver as well, so those five wide looks can be even more deadly with Yeldon out there. I know this is supposed to be about the offensive line, so i will get back to that... Daryl Williams is an excellent find as well, and after having been toyed with a bit the last few years, I think he may have found a home here. He had one or two big time whiffs, but that defensive line is very good. This is probably the best RT play I have seen here in a very very long time. Winters was okay. He did have some terrible spots there, but he was playing against the best in the league. I do think he is a good player, is he better than Spain? Maybe. I like Feliciano, but I also think Winters is a better player. Feliciano does bring the glue and the toughness, but he is definitely a liability at times. And how about Ty Nsehke coming in cold off the bench with the game on the line and doing a great job? Ty is so important as the back up swing guy. But he is also probably one of the top five linemen on the team. I think it is a dilemma, as he should probably be playing more. Another poster said it in a thread here, but Ike Boettger may be worth a look at RG at some point here. The guy has talent and upside, and he also has that nasty streak that Feliciano brought to the OL. Honestly, Ryan Bates is another guy who probably deserves a shot at RG. I do think Winters is a good player in this league, but I am not sure he is a guy who will be here long. I hope one of those guys earns that spot or that Feliciano comes back with a vengeance and reclaims the RG spot. Interestingly, every linemen on this team aside from Spain, were starting collegiate tackles, even Mitch Morse. So it seems they like a certain type. I do hope they find a way to trade Spain if they don’t feel like he can really help the team at this point. I think he is a good player, and maybe he just had a bad week of practice or maybe this is just about Cody Ford, but Spain should have some value in the market.

Inside track on Lawrence after 2 weeks?
MrEpsYtown replied to 4merper4mer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was thinking more along the lines of Lawrence could probably teach Gase a thing or two.
