  1. I think they definitely bring in a guard of some sort. Brabdon Scherff is top of the line with Andrew Norwell and his Carolina connections. I like Corbett because he is still young with upside and he turned into a pretty good player. Corbett coming here would put some closure on the whole Wyatt Teller thing since Cleveland traded Corbett because he was a bust for them and ended up replacing him with Teller. Full circle, kind of. Other Kromer guys who will be available are Austin Blythe and Kyle Long. Blythe would be a nice replacement for Feliciano after he gets traded to the Giants. Blythe plays center and guard. Other guys who make sense are James Daniels and Conor Williams. I am not a Laken Tomlinson guy, but he makes sense as well. There will be options for sure.
  2. From all accounts Kyle is a very intelligent dude with some physical limitations. I get that he was a quarterback who will be working with the defense. If I need a guy to chart plays and prepare scout teams to help our defense, I want it to be a guy who played QB for our two biggest AFC rivals going forward, KC and Cincy. I think this is a genius, kind of shrewd move and I like it. He would have extensive knowledge of both offenses and he could make a difference for us.
  3. Ian Thomas of the Panthers has been mentioned a bunch of times here by others. I think he is a really good number 2 tight ed to pair with Knox. There was also a lot of smoke from us around Thomas during pre-draft times. I like Tommy Sweeney, but the fact that he was a frequent healthy scratch at the end there is a worrisome. Gerald Everett was mentioned in the thread. He did a lot of good things fr the Rams as their number two. If we are going to see some Rams wrinkles courtesy of Kromer, then he could make some sense as well. Knox is the clear 1.
  4. Interesting for Mongo because he's going to have to look at real estate closer to East Rutherford. Ford is meh and Ike is an injured free agent. I am excited to see Kromer work with Bates (who is a RFA) and Spencer Brown.
  5. So do we want Nick Sorensen? Seems like an interesting dude who spent some time as a secondary coach in Seattle.
  6. Any of those teams that trade out or pass on those top two defensive ends are idiots. They are they two best players in the draft.
  7. I bet his contract was up. I believe assistant coaches get two or three year deals typically, and maybe he just wasn't asked back.
  8. Fine. As long as Blake Costanzo and Jon Corto are around somewhere.
  9. What's Bobby April doing these days?
  10. I feel pretty strongly that this dude is going to be elite soon. He is already pretty much the best tight end we have ever had. It doesn't mean you don't keep looking, because this is the kind of guy someone offers an absurd contract to. Knox's first 3 years are on par with everything Hunter Henry was doing.
  11. Lost in all this 3rd string QB hoopla is the fact that the G men also plucked Jamie Gillan the Scotish punter guy. So if Haack is gone, who is next? Michael Palardy? College 80 yard guy? Some other person?
  12. This enhances that James Bradberry conversation. He is a zone corner, for the most part. If he was on the "possible cuts" list already, I think this moves the needle closer to cut.
  13. One thing that does make sense, now that the Giants decided to hire Martindale, perhaps Steve Wilks make sense as a replacement for Frazier. Or, maybe he comes in as assistant head coach and defensive consultant or something. He was with McDermott for a while and replaced him in carolina so there is a connection there and one would think they would be in lock step in terms of what they want to accomplish.
  14. This makes a ton of sense and hits the mark. They are going to want the same types of players. Especially if they wind up hiring a Steve Wilks as a D-coordinator. Then it's gonna be Buffalo south. I could see trades sending our guys to them being more likely than us taking from them.
  15. Texans clearly wanted to hire McCown. They waited too long and put themselves in a position that it would have looked absolutely horrible for them and the NFL if they went down that path. So they pivoted. Smith has the better HC resume, including a super bowl and I think that is where he beats out Leslie.
  16. Maybe Lovie tries to poach Frazier 🤷‍♂️
  17. I’ve almost lost hope for Cody, but he was different after the knee injury. I’d like to see him drop like 10-15 pounds, nothing crazy, just get some flexibilty in his game. He is extremely stiff. but I do think there is a chance Kromer could make him serviceable.
  18. I would not worry too much about scheme. This guy is an excellent teacher and has made middle of the road guys into very good players. Ofcourse there have been duds-John Miller, but even so, Miller was serviceable when Kromer was here. He has some super athletic guys to work with here in Buffalo. Great fit imo.
  19. I think its a little bit of everything. He seems pretty cerebral in the way he thinks about his players and what they can do. In LA its a ton of wide zone, when he was here it was a lot of gap/power stuff.
  20. Love love love this hire. And I hope it means Austin Corbett, future Buffalo Bills guard.
  21. I am a huge Johnnys Mt. Vernon guy if venturing just north of the Bronx.
  22. I remember a lot of pre-draft smoke around Thomas here. I thought they really liked him. He is pretty much the perfect #2. And the shallow cross is something I am happy to see more of.
  23. I don’t know a ton about this guy, but the fact that he worked under Bill Callahan is a huge positive. And those young Vikings linemen seem to sing his praises. In that case I am good with it. I just hope they checking in with Munchak, Cable. Not sure I love the idea of going more to a stretch zone type deal, unless you add speed like Raheem Mostert and Jerick McKinnon.
