  1. Teams with QBs on rookie deals could manage. Teams that are paying one guy 30 plus million are probably screwed.
  2. I do not think they are going to miss Collins or Shelton. They really like Adam Butler on the dline. They still have Lawrence Guy, who nobody on our team could block last year, and there is a chance that a guy like Derek Rivers finally puts it together. I don't like Josh Uche as a prospect, but I think he can replace some of what Collins brought to the table. I do think that they guy they are really going to miss is Van Noy. I think he is a pretty underrated player. However, they always get production out of linebackers off the street like Elandon Roberts, Marquis Flowers, Jonathan Casillas, Ramon Humber. So I don't worry about them there. I think they have a really good line and good running backs. Now I do not think that Stidham is going to be very good, but I think he is better than lot of people are making him out to be. He has some tools. And for a less than ideal QB to have success you need two things: a good offensive line and a strong run game. So I would not right them off completely, but I do think they are the second best team in the division behind us.
  3. I’m willing to be a big boy and admit that I really liked Trubisky and Mahomes. I did not like Watson. But I thought the Bills were going to draft Marshon Lattimore.
  4. I’d say Spain, Feliciano, Josh Norman
  5. I think it will be Oliver and Jefferson on passing downs in the interior. Phillips and Epenesa rotating through. I think a lot of Bills fans are underestimating how much Jefferson and Vernon Butler are going to be on the field.
  6. I could see an Alec Ogeltree or a Nigel Bradham adding to their linebacker corps.
  7. It looks like he replaces the personality that went out the door with Shaq and Phillips
  8. I get that they may not have been interested in the QB in 2017, but where is the proof that they would not have drafted Trubisky? Obviously they had zero plans to draft Mahomes or Watson, that is a proven fact, But there is no proof (that I have seen) that they would have passed on Trubisky at 10. I feel like that is something we can never know definitively, unless I am missing something. The Panthers scouted him, they were at his pro day, and he was in their back yard. Whether Beane was leaking info to McDermott or not, coach would have known enough about Trubisky to take him if he wanted, and the owner flew down to meet him? I get that they were working that trade down for awhile, but maybe they did not have the firepower to trade up. Remember that the Bears traded up one spot with the Niners to take Trubisky, so there had to be another suitor sniffing around for the Bears to make that move. Again, I am not saying the I know anything for sure, I am just saying I want to see the proof that Bills were not going to draft Trubisky. I do believe that they were punting on the QB that year, but I think that decision came when they knew they could not get Trubisky. It is just my opinion and not based on fact.
  9. It got weird in here
  10. Totally 100% agree with this. He is a great SAM fit and his long arms would help him in 4-3 under looks.
  11. To me the fact that they non tendered McKenzie, nobody signed him, and then they re-signed him for peanuts, tells us what we need to know about McKenzie. He will be available after getting cut to be signed in case of an injury. I also think a guy like Taiwan Jones could provide a jet sweep or two. I think they keep six, including the two rookies and Roberts. Out of the incumbents, imo Foster has the best chance to stick becuase of his ability as a gunner.
  12. Imo Davis and Hodgins both make the team. McKenzie, Duke, Foster are all likely gone.
  13. It definitely stings, but I like the fit with Foles. Getting a vet familiar who excelled in that system in the past is a great move. Their defense is pretty good so I actually think they could have a nice year. The whole Trubisky thing sucks, but they just have to try to find another guy in the draft and Foles gives them some options.
  14. All good. All we can do is wait and see I suppose.
  15. I don’t know man. I’m on the other side, as I think he is one of the most overrated qbs in the league. That game against the Eagles in week 16 I think proved who he was. That was a game they needed more than any other and played like a more athletic Trent Edwards, dinking and dunking to 9 points. If the Cowboys give him that contract, it will be one of the worst albatrosses in the entire league in my opinion. Dalton in front of that line, with that run game, and those weapons I feel could outperform Dak. If Dak makes it to free agency what kind of contract does he get? Who would even be interested? I don’t think he gets anything close to what he is asking. The Cowgirls are negotiating against themselves imo.
  16. I agree 100%. I really don’t get it and I wish one of these Buffalo reporters would ask the braintrust why they believe in Bojo and Vedvik so much instead of tossing them softball questions. I get that iron sharpens iron, but crap vs more crap, is just a big pile of doodoo. My best guess, is maybe they talked to Turk and want to work him out before they sign him. So maybe that’s the hold up, at least that’s what I am hoping. Maybe Turk wants a significant guarantee, which might explain why he is unsigned, or maybe he is hurt. Maybe the Bills told him they would be interested in giving him the guarantee he wants, but they have to see him workout first? ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️
  17. Mitch obviously a bust, but Davis and Ross were huge reaches during draft time so that makes sense. I guess the Fournette thing is becuase they hate each other and probably don’t want to pay 8 million to a running back for one year.
  18. Trubisky is the only one they did not get a chance to pass on. I agree that they likely were not going to take a qb early in 2017, but I do believe they would have taken Trubisky at 10 if he were there. I know Whaley was getting fired and all reports seemed to suggest Watson was his guy, but all signs pointed to the Bills (McDermott) loving Mitch. I mean we will never know the truth, But McDermott would have had a good grip on Trubisky having been from Carolina. To your second point, I think, at least the top ten, all agreed that Mitch was the best. A bunch of teams who needed QBs passed on Mahomes and Watson. Obviously everyone was pretty much wrong accept for the Chiefs and Texans, but the Bears would have been mocked if they picked either of those guys at 2 at the time. Obviously, we should all mock the Bears now, but I have to say I do feel a bit bad for them. Not a lot, just a little bit.
  19. Unfortunately, if Trubisky was there at 10 I think we would have taken him. I think he was the guy McDermott liked and when he was taken, he punted on quarterback. They worked him out a bunch of times and even had Terry Pegula fly down to chapel hill to meet him. I think Mitch was their guy. So the negative posts quota would have remained the same, if not worse.
  20. You know, I could totally see a guy like Matakevich doubling as a fullback in addition to linebacker and special teams ace. Maybe they follow the lead of the Ravens with Patrick Ricard as a two way guy.
  21. Taco signed with the Chiefs this morning
  22. I liked him at Auburn. He was great in 2017 and if he came out he might have been maybe a second round pick. He was bad his senior year. Highly recruited, big time signing for Batlylor. Honestly, he’s very athletic, has a good arm. Smallish hands...he really reminds me of Jimmy Garapollo. I think that is the the of player he is going to be. The difference is that you can shatter Stidham’s confidence if you hit him and pick him. Garopollo has that swagger and confidence that you wont see with Stidham, but I do think it’s a fair comp. I think he is going to be okay, not great. I said in another thread similar to this one that I think he has a Matt Moore type of career. Maybe a little better.
  23. To me it’s projection into a scheme. A very highly recruited big time prospect who put up big numbers in college and really hasn’t found a home in the NFL. It just didn’t click for him in Dallas and in Miami he was playing OLB in a somewhat complicated scheme. But he projects perfectly as the type of end McDermott covets and he has upside as a pass rusher that we don’t have much of on this roster. I guess he is built a bit like Daryl Johnson with more pedigree. To me it’s a very low risk, possibly big time reward play on a guy who is still only 25 and had five sacks in a part time role last year playing in just 10 games.
