It allowed them to keep Hodgins. If they IRed him he would be out for the season and if they waived him another team could have swiped him. Roberts and Marlowe not being subject to waivers allowed the Bills to use two roster spots for one day. With Feliciano, if he were put on IR before the cut down, he’d be out for the season, but now they can bring him back, I’m pretty sure anyways. It let the Bills play with two bonus spots for 24 hours.

It comes full circle as he will learn from Brady, but not the way a lot of people thought. My understanding is that he excelled on special teams and as a blocker, but also had some clutch catches over the last couple of years and was a favorite of Aaron Rodgers. Good guy to have around imo.

Panthers cut Kaare Vedvik...so he’s a better fit now.

Butler is gonna start imo, but Phillips, Jefferson gonna be on the field a lot.

Richie Leone has been the best punter in the CFL for a few years. Could be an interesting grab. Punting is punting.

Ingram is a very good player, but really not what these guys look for as prototype edge players. Short arms, kind of a guy without a position here imo.

Agreed. We just went through this with Dion Dawkins...and Cordy Glenn before him...this likely won’t go away for a while because pre draft prognosticators said Ford would be an all pro guard. But if Ford improves his play like Dion did, it has a chance to go away. Raw tackles like Dion and Ford take some time to develop in the NFL. And in Ford’s case, Oklahoma did not ask him to do much technique wise. The things he is being asked to do in the NFL are things he’s never done before. Patience will pay off here.

I remember when we drafted him as a defensive tackle then used him on offense as a guard for some reason. Then he went on to have a respectable career as a....defensive tackle. Ahhh, the good ole days.

Boehm is a natural center who has played a lot of right guard in the NFL. He started like 40 games at center at Mizzou, interestingly though, the majority of his NFL experience so far has been at guard. Not sure why that is, but he’s an interesting depth guy for sure. Interestingly, all of the other centers on the roster Morse, Bates, Boettger, even Feliciano (played a ton of RT at the U) are converted tackles. Fun fact...Ryan Bates’ dad’s first name is Norman.

Evan Boehm is essentially a younger, much cheaper version of Long. I liked Long, but this makes sense if the Winters thing is official. But as others have mentioned, i do think they really like Ryan Bates as well. Still a lot of flexibility in terms of guys who can play guard and center. If they need more, with Morse and Boehm already here, maybe they being in Justin Britt too, some more Mizzou grit.

Winters was a left tackle at Kent State, I’m guessing he could play center, but I don’t think he has ever done it. But he is a lunchpail guy. Also, he might know where Dri Archer is.

I always liked his game. He plugs in at right guard, and while I like Jon Feliciano, Winters is the better player. He is tough as nails as he played through the pain of a seriously messed up shoulder. He also has a nice level of nastiness in his game. I love this move.

Worst part about this whole thing is that they are going to start broadcasting the National Anthem again, which they only do when its week 1, the super bowl, or controversial....they only broadcast it to exploit it in some way. All in all, it simply means one thing, another commercial break ?‍♂️

Prescott is such a weird player to me because he is both super underrated and super overrated. I think he is a middle of the road quarterback, but Dallas should not pay him what he is asking. He will not get that on the open market imo. I’ll ride with Allen.

That is about a tilted Nose tackle, which is a 1 technique. The idea of the tilted nose is to eat up blockers and keep the linebackers free. The strength of Ed Oliver’s game is penetration, and that is the job of the 3 tech, or outside shoulder of the guard. Back in Tampa, Warren Sapp was the 3 tech next to the tilted nose who was Brad Culpepper. All that said, putting Oliver there is a misuse of his talents imo. I could see using him there in stunt and twist scenarios, but he’s a prototype penetrating three technique, and that is where he needs to play imo.

Bryce Paup for sure. One guy I loved in his short time here and I was always a fan of when he was in Green Bay is Nick Barnett.

Wait was it one or two first round picks he was traded for? I forgot.... But seriously, he’s an idiot and a weirdo and while he has talent he seems to lack that competitive edge to be great. He’s a follower, not an alpha. Oh well. Should have just been Mack. I don’t wish harm on the guy, but in twenty years this is going to be the guy they are talking about eating out of garbage cans down by the river and engaging in lewd acts with raccoons after pawning his super bowl ring in exchange for a Mr potato head toy who “talks” to him ...not because he ran out of money, just because he’s nuts.

They feel totally different to me. Freddy was a small school guy who was slept on for so long and kept grinding and when he got his shot, he proved he was a playmaker. Duke was a guy in the limelight, who blew all of the chances he had and then had to grind to get another shot. While he made some nice plays for us, he’s kind of look like a jag. And when ur number is called a limited amount, you have to catch the ball. The way that Hodgins catches the ball, he easily beats Duke out. He can do everything Duke can, but better, plus he’s younger. Duke is stronger, but Hodgins has him beat everywhere else. I was excited about Duke, I watched a ton of him at Auburn, but I think he is going to struggle to make the team. I won’t count him out, but he is closer to “out of the league” than anything remotely approaching Fred Jackson.

The Gilliam guy is intriguing as an athlete, but again has no stats or anything. What I find most interesting is his length. On his 6-1, 255lbs frame, he’s got super long arms, a wingspan nearly the size of Tee Higgins, and that is why those blocked kicks are a thing. So it’s an upside play. I’ve never seen the guy play, so expecting him to beat out DiMarco does not seem likely. He definitely sounds like a practice squad candidate.
