  1. Andy Isabella hands!
  2. I get that their are other punters in the draft, but this regime has been pretty adamant about their preference of a lefty. They went after Bojo, Dustin Colquitt, Michael Palardy, and of course Haack. McDermott preaches field position and flipping the field etc. Araiza seems like exactly what they would want. I get that we don't punt a whole lot, but when we do typically all hell breaks loose. I think this guy makes too much sense. The issue is that there are a few teams with a lot of draft picks in first few rounds and someone will take him early.
  3. Whoever we sign/draft to play corner opposite Tre.
  4. I think people will forgive him if he also does the press conference with a beef on weck and bucket of blue cheese. Oh and he should jump through a table. Then, all is probably forgiven.
  5. He has little baby hands. And to your point, with that catch radius he would not be a bad ball catcher. Kyler Murray is a not an accurate dude. Even with all those factors one would think he would at the very least make an impact in the return game. But it seems like he is a complete bust.
  6. That is probably 100% his future, but they won't put him on TV with that lumberjack look. I also think he might make a very good coach down the line.
  7. I don’t feel nostalgia towards Fitzy in any way. I mean it’s cool he was at the playoff game. But my feeling are meh. Maybe I am just cold, but I feel like those were some decent teams and he wasn’t good enough. And that contract they gave him was so short sighted, and they just kept on passing up QBs in the draft because they thought he was the guy which all leads up to the forced picked of EJ Manuel. I’d want to sign Jim Kelly down the line to a one day contract so he could get a ring with the Bills.
  8. I am a huge McBeane supporter, and I think they take too much criticism at times. The one thing that sticks out to me, and bothers me, is their strange loyalty to players who aren’t getting it done. They seem to just wait too long to cut bait, or to try something different when the move is obvious. It started with Nate Peterman. Like what the hell was that about? Mike Tolbert? Seriously? The guy played way too much. Vlad Ducasse, just was so terrible and worse and worse every week, but he stayed in there. Ramon Humber, Jordan Mills. Philip Gaines, Marshall Newhouse, John Miller. Then came Trent Murphy and Jon Feliciano. Who needs Wyatt Teller when you have Jeremiah Sirles and Brian Winters? They just seem to take too long to make the move when they have younger guys waiting in the wings like Teller, like Bates. Would have been nice to have Brandon Powell returning kicks this year, but he was too busy playing in the Super Bowl. I have a lot of opinions on Tremaine on both sides. But, if they think he is the guy, they should extend him now. If they are on the fence, they need to trade him. What they can’t do is play out a lame duck year.
  9. Andersen and Sky Moore always fall to me in mock draft simulator fun. Last time that happened was in 2017 when I almost always drafted some guy named Matt Milano with a late pick.
  10. Definitely not the right move at this time. But they will have to reshape the room. I still have my money on Kyle Allen to be Josh’s long term #2. Then a very cheap veteran, a guy like Brian Hoyer, who is a good guy to have in the room but will never touch the field.
  11. Just watch some all 22 film of him and you will forget that he is 290. The dude is a technician who plays with great leverage and has a very nasty streak. Excellent in pass pro, can really move and is great in the screen game.
  12. I don’t think they will draft Linderbaum, but I think they should if he is there. Linderbaum is essentially a polished, slighty bigger Jason Kelce, who cane into the league at 280. I really want to see what Linderbaum benches at the combine, and his other measurables. I am not sure if he can play guard, but I do know that Mitch Morse can. Maybe a move to guard might actually protect Morse as he wont have 340 lb NTs right on his head. But I am not worried about Linderbaum. He plays with leverage, and while he could stand to add 10-15 pounds to his frame, I think he is going to be an all pro center right away. Former Iowa guy James Daniels came in a little undersized and didn't really take off until he added that nulk. I think the thing with Humphrey was that there was no combine, people saw a kind of sloppy body guy with a neck beard who snaps left handed, with inconsistent game film. He doesn’t pass the eye test in that way, so I think he is a bit of a unicorn. I fon’t think people thought he was going to be the elite athlete that he is. I don’t think center was on our radar, but I would feel worse if I were say the Eagles or Packers…teams who drafted centers before Humphrey.
  13. I agree with this. And the more former quarterbacks you can have on a roster, the better. This is the same reason I liked the Kyle Shurmur hire labeled nepotism. Who better to break down film as a defensive quality control coach than a former quarterback who played for the Chiefs and the Bengals?
  14. Don't forget about Reggie Ragland!
  15. I am a big "never draft so and so position in the top 15" guy. But at 25 all bets are off and think you just take BPA, guys who drop because people reached on upside guys and quarterbacks. It is how guys like TJ Watt, Ray Lewis etc etc go at the end of the first round. But my rule is, never draft a linemen, other than a true LT in the top 15-20, unless they are Quentin Nelson elite. And I am a line guy.
  16. My major point here is that they should have drafted Nick Bosa. And then Deebo Samuel in the 2nd, and they could have gotten by with any serviceable quarterback, like SF and Jimmy G. They would likely have a better record if they did not take Murray that year. And good points. Giants should have totally drafted Herbert and just traded Jones for whatever. Ham sandwich. Those people who wanted to keep Tyrod also wanted to keep Anthony Lynn for continuity sake. Which is crazy. Why would people want continuity from a crap regime?
  17. Should have just played baseball. Maybe they should have drafted Nick Bosa and Deebo Samuel and stuck with Rosen. But, Kingsbury wanted his guy, and it may bury the regime.
  18. Seems like he takes a long time. Any thoughts Gunner? I would be all for drafting a guy like this.
  19. The Bengals fixing their o-line. That is their clear flaw. Say they sign Terron Armstead, move Jonah Williams to LG and sign Brandon Scherff. Then draft Tyler Linderbaum. They have the cap space to make that type of thing happen. If they get the o line fixed, they will be a pain for a awhile.
  20. I will say that Ford seems like a straight bust. Good pick at the time, good evaluation, hasn’t panned out. Pre-draft he seemed like a pretty good bet to, at the very least become a competent starter at guard. He had some interesting traits, but a lot of flaws in his game, especially when he had to play against good players in college. These flaws have kind of shown out here, and he regressed, so I blame Bobby Johnson. I really like the transition to high RAS guys. Bates, Doyle, Brown etc. I hope that trend continues this year and they go after guys like Austin Corbett, Connor Williams, James Daniels. RAS isn’t like the bible. Orlando Brown had horrible scores and he is a very good tackle. Gerard DeBeer had a very high score, hasn’t done anything. But I think you want to have gives who are athletic you can mold.
  21. This position is not high on my list of priorities, but My list: 1. Trubisky if we can. That would be my #1 choice 2. Kyle Allen - Highly athletic guy with upside. Washington brought him in to be a long term back up to Dwayne Haskins. Allen is a good guy to have around Josh as they train together in the offseason so they speak the same language. Kyle is an RFA who maybe Washington tenders, but it won’t be a high tender. Probably not going to get a chance to start anywhere. 3. Jacoby Brissett - I know some people really don’t like him for some reason, but he is familiar with the offense and has proven he can win NFL games. Smart guy, good size, good athlete. I am guessing he tries to go to a place where he has a chance to compete. 4. Blaine Gabbert - I know, I know. He’s a good dude who has been around forever but somehow just 32 years old. He has seen a lot of things and has been an understudy to Brady for the last two years. Extremely intelligent player who essentially had the Sam Darnold career, start too early and had 8 OCs in 8 years. Maybe he gets a shot to start in Tampa, but to me he is ideal backup material. Gabbert was also in the same QB room with Jordan Palmer for awhile in Jacksonville. After that it’s probably Dalton or Colt McCoy. If I were a betting man, I’d say Kyle Allen gets here somehow on like a 3 year deal to be Josh’s backup.
  22. Here’s my 2020 Captain Hindsight draft: 2- Antonio Gibson or Jeremy Chinn or Logan Wilson (I'm probably taking Gibson) 3- Cameron Dantzler CB very good corner 4- Gabe Davis - great pick 5- Darnell Mooney WR 4.38 6- Bass - sticking with it 6- Kamren Curl - S Beast 7- James Robinson RB Only sticking with two of our picks here. I think this draft was a huge whiff. I get that AJ still has potebtial, but we passed on some true talent to take him and the Moss pick felt very forced, as well as the QB pick.
  23. I actually like Tommy Doyle as a possible guard if they can’t sign an Austin Corbett type. Yeah i know he’s tall, but it doesn’t matter if you have a 6-5 QB. Doyle has explosive measurables and athleticism and seemed to be coming around as a blocker. I don’t know that you can get an offensive linemen at 25 with more upside aside from Linderbaum.
  24. I feel like they need to hit on free agency. This roster needs complimentary veteran players to help put them over the top. I am not sure if rookies at the back end of each round will really move the needle. Maybe Jordan Davis, or a corner, or a DE like Cameron Thomas. but somewhere they need to find IOL, a corner, a punter, and pass rush. They should also try to package some of their nine picks to target guys and come away with 5 good draft picks.
