How bad is it for Lesile Frazier?
MrEpsYtown replied to Marvlevydraftdaygenius's topic in The Stadium Wall
One thing that does make sense, now that the Giants decided to hire Martindale, perhaps Steve Wilks make sense as a replacement for Frazier. Or, maybe he comes in as assistant head coach and defensive consultant or something. He was with McDermott for a while and replaced him in carolina so there is a connection there and one would think they would be in lock step in terms of what they want to accomplish. -
Rumored Giants Players Available for Trade
MrEpsYtown replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
This makes a ton of sense and hits the mark. They are going to want the same types of players. Especially if they wind up hiring a Steve Wilks as a D-coordinator. Then it's gonna be Buffalo south. I could see trades sending our guys to them being more likely than us taking from them. -

Texans clearly wanted to hire McCown. They waited too long and put themselves in a position that it would have looked absolutely horrible for them and the NFL if they went down that path. So they pivoted. Smith has the better HC resume, including a super bowl and I think that is where he beats out Leslie. -
Maybe Lovie tries to poach Frazier 🤷♂️

Beach chairs are back! (Kromer hired as OL Coach)
MrEpsYtown replied to MWK's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve almost lost hope for Cody, but he was different after the knee injury. I’d like to see him drop like 10-15 pounds, nothing crazy, just get some flexibilty in his game. He is extremely stiff. but I do think there is a chance Kromer could make him serviceable. -

I would not worry too much about scheme. This guy is an excellent teacher and has made middle of the road guys into very good players. Ofcourse there have been duds-John Miller, but even so, Miller was serviceable when Kromer was here. He has some super athletic guys to work with here in Buffalo. Great fit imo. -

I think its a little bit of everything. He seems pretty cerebral in the way he thinks about his players and what they can do. In LA its a ton of wide zone, when he was here it was a lot of gap/power stuff. -

Love love love this hire. And I hope it means Austin Corbett, future Buffalo Bills guard. -
I am a huge Johnnys Mt. Vernon guy if venturing just north of the Bronx.

I remember a lot of pre-draft smoke around Thomas here. I thought they really liked him. He is pretty much the perfect #2. And the shallow cross is something I am happy to see more of.

Vikings Oline coach Phil Rauscher (Twitter speculation)
MrEpsYtown replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t know a ton about this guy, but the fact that he worked under Bill Callahan is a huge positive. And those young Vikings linemen seem to sing his praises. In that case I am good with it. I just hope they checking in with Munchak, Cable. Not sure I love the idea of going more to a stretch zone type deal, unless you add speed like Raheem Mostert and Jerick McKinnon. -
So Linderbaum is super athletic, and similar in size to Ryan Bates. He is also a converted D linemen, and a former wrestler. I see no reason why he could not play guard for a year. I also see no reason that Morse could not move to guard. That might actually protect Morse more. And a move to more zone blocking probably pushes Williams out. I do think Linderbaum will be gone, but there is a chance simply because centers always drop, but he’s a generational talent. He really isn’t a true need for us either, but if he’s there he is probably BPA.

I prefer Jerrick McKinnon. I think he brings a different dynamic and he is a better receiver. But I agree with the premise and the thinking.

This topic seems eerily familiar

Mark Wahlberg impressed with JA, depressed as a Pats* fan
MrEpsYtown replied to Michael1962's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love “the other guys.” The old ball and chain. So many good bits in that one. -
I think it is a great hire if true. Young guys with fresh ideas who have trained under some of the best coaches is not a bad place to be. Add Chad Hall into the equation, ad I like what they are doing. Now add an old school plugger as a the oline coach and I really like where they are at. Mike Munchak worked for Tomlin. 👁️🗨️

Carolina, back to where he made some noise in college and does fit what Ben McAdoo wants to do. Maybe Tampa or New Orleans. i do think there's a chance he stays.

Ted Cottrell was the original Rooney Rule sham interview guy. I would be very curious to see what his thoughts are.

Bills request to interview Tee Martin for OC Job
MrEpsYtown replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall
Perhaps they still try to bring in Tee as the QB coach 🤷♂️ -
Munchak is a mixed bag. Some zone, some gap, some pin and pull. I like the idea of a guy who is good at everything and will work the system to play to the strengths of the players

McDermott seems like a guy who trusts his coaches. But with great power comes great responsibility…I think when they screw up he doesn’t take it too well. I don’t gather he is much fun to be around. I don’t know if it means anything. Most head coaches are like this. That’s my 2 cents.

Ok so this is the guy I really like, in addition to Tom Cable. However, he left the Steelers to go to the Broncos to be closer to his family on the west coast. So I am not sure i love our chances. They should be chasing Bill Callahan as well. If the Bears can pursue him, why not us?

Yes he was drafted specifically for McDermotts's D to replace Josh Norman. -

Bradberry is a nice fit...he was up and down for McDermott. But that's a big cap number. If he is cut, 100% makes sense. Personally I prefer Donte Jackson because of the speed he brings. But Bradberry would be a good fit here imo
