  1. I dunno, I thought the Jordan Phillips thread from three years ago was pretty weird.
  2. I always respect you takes. I just love McDuffie. He's one of my draft crushes this year. I just see so many things he does that project so well into what we do. McDuffie seems like the anti Levi Wallace. He was slow and smooth, kinda let the game develop, but it was too slow. I think you can slow McDuffie down a bit as he processes things, and while he may not be a great fit for everyone, I feel like he is for us. His recognition of route combinations and film work I think is the thing that will allow him to keep up with those savvy guys. But I feel you on Gordon as well. I really like him too and I am interested to see the order in which the corners go. As long as we don't draft a IOL, right tackle or running back in the first round, I think I will be satisfied.
  3. I think Woolen is a very interesting prospect, but he is raw and going to take a minute, especially in a scheme like ours. McDuffie already does all of the things he would be asked to do in this defense at a high level and his instincts are off the charts. His football iQ is crazy good. McDuffie could help get us to the Super Bowl this year. I like Gordon's projection for us as well. Woolen may be better in a few years, but it's boom or bust.
  4. Guys who are punting prospects know that they will have to hold in the NFL. So they have to be doing it in all of their training leading up to the draft. I am guessing teams make them do it on workout visits and pro days. I am not sure since no one cares about punting workouts. I guess my point is, Bojo has been in the league for 4 years no and his holding still sucks. That's on him. I think he is done in the league as a starting punter. He simply is not good enough to accept his deficiencies.
  5. I see the opposite when I watch McDuffie. I see a dude who is all over the field, smart, aggressive, great instincts and I see a day 1 starter who fits like a glove in our defensive scheme. Is he knocking people's heads off? No, but he is so solid in everything he does. I would be disappointed if he is off the Bills' board based on arm length. He reminds me of a cross between a bigger, faster Honey Badger and Cortland Finnegan. He's fiery and everywhere and super smart. When you see him work through traffic in the zones he is doing all the stuff Levi Wallace was incapable of. He probably isn't a perfect fit for every scheme, but he is for us. The dude is everywhere. When you watch Tre White's college highlights and stuff you don't see wow plays either. he's just really good. To trade up to draft a guard with a similar profile to Cody Ford would be a drastic mistake imo. Williams I could see the upside, but I would not trade up for him. If he falls, that's a different story. But McDuffie is plug and play.
  6. I get that, but once the NFL determines that you are punter, you have to learn how to do it as it is 50% of the job. That's all. Bojo is terrible at it, and has not gotten better. Plus he was not the place kicker in college so I am not sure what his excuse is. Araiza will likely be adequate at it because he is an excellent athlete and played DB in high school. He isn't just some soccer kid playing football. Haack is excellent because he was a wide receiver in high school.
  7. When you watch those two videos you can almost cut McDuffie out and stick him right in our scheme. He is a tailor made perfect fit for what we do defensively. All the traits are there. I am typically a height-weight-speed guy and I suppose the short arms are concerning, but McDuffie is a perfect fit. Plug and play in the zone, instincts off the charts.
  8. I wouldn’t hate it. Karlaftis is probably a better prospect than anyone we have in terms of the young guys, borderline with Rousseau. That said, the board would certainly implode.
  9. Yep kickers and punters outside of the elite are essential a conglomerate of “solid.” Thanks for the data that shows that Bojo is a marginally better punter, whereas Haack is an elite holder. I do think they should look to the draft for an upgrade, but I would take Haack over Bojo every day of the week. Bojo single handily turned a solid, reliable kicker into a guy who was coating his team games. And that is why the Packers have already replaced him. No thanks.
  10. Yeah I would pick McDuffie as well. But Karlaftis might be better than anyone we have not named Miller. Its a moot point because I don’t think he is there in the real draft. But one of the two guys are BPA.
  11. I’d be sprinting to the podium for McDuffie, but I think they would take Karlaftis as well. Wyatt maybe not, but outside of Von Miller, there is no proven guy. I like Rousseau and Basham but I could see them spending another pick on an edge guy.
  12. I am guessing they try to trade back a couple of times with the last one, because three 5th year options is really hard to pull off. Either that or they take a shot on a guy like Jameson Williams who they won't need right away. There is some smoke that they like Pickett. And I guess that is the other place they could go, take a shot on a first round QB since they have an extra pick. Yeah gave Wyatt some thought, and if trades were allowed I amy have tried to trade back and take Demarvin Leal, but I just like Davis better so it was more personal preference. Davis isn't a perfect fit for what they do, but with guys like him and Haason Reddick who is that tweener, you can do some pretty cool stuff imo.
  13. Thanks Bill. My bad!
  14. Yeah I feel he was a bit of a reach, but there were still a couple of edge guys and a bunch of receivers left. I wanted to make sure I secured the run stuffer. I am not sure if things go this way, but I do think Davis has some upside as a pass rusher and just has not yet been unleashed. He instantly fixes the Eagle run D issues.
  15. With the 19th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Drake London, WR, USC I had a tough time with this one as the Eagles have been burned by receivers quite a bit the last few years. Smith looks great and they have some speed. London bring something different to the equation with his size. London is big but explosive and is a bad ball catcher and a huge weapon in the red zone. His ball skills are special and I think he will be a great weapon for Jalen Hurts. 6-4, 220...his deep speed is a question mark, but he could be similar to a Mike Evans. The Steelers and @RyanC883 are now on the clock!
  16. With the 16th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select EDGE Jermaine Johnson II, Florida State. Howie Roseman typically tries to build the defensive line from the inside out, and that is what the strategy is here. In the offseason they added Hassan Reddick and he and Johnson make an excellent pass rush especially in nickel situations. Brandon Graham is getting up there and Sweat and Barnett are good rotational guys to have, but Johnson takes this defense to another level. The temptation is to try to get some help for Jalen Hurts, but I love the Johnson fit so much, it is hard to look elsewhere. The Chargers and @TPS are on the clock.
  17. No but I think he can be unleashed as a 1 tech. His athletic ability will be wasted as 3-4 zero tech imo.
  18. With the 15th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Defensive tackle Jordan Davis Georgia. I was eyeing Lloyd, Walker, and Hamilton and they all went off the board. The Eagles had a ton of issues stopping the run last year. Davis plugs the run in the middle of that defense and is the type of presence they have not had on the D line for a very long time. Pairing Davis with Fletcher Cox improves the d line immensely. I am still on the clock. Will be up shortly.
  19. I am shocked that his career has gone the way it has. Maybe a move to safety might help him. But I liked him coming out and it's worth a camp invite flyer.
  20. I just think the Bobby Johnson hire was so incredibly bad. I liked the fit on paper, and obviously the line improved, but, and this is just me speculating, he was way too loyal to his guys in my world. The best players did not play. And that is my issue with what they have been doing here with the line. Johnson seems like a good dude to have a beer with. Kromer has always been a guy who can make chicken salad out of chicken poo. He made it work with castoffs like Kraig Urbik, resurrected Richie Incognito's career. Made a all pro out of a number of guys in New Orleans. Turned Austin Corbett into a top tier free agent. And I think most of it is that he has vast knowledge learned his stuff from Bill Callahan. Another part of it is because Kromer is a (meany...I got censored). He just coaches and wants to get the best out of the players. He's old school in that way. He's a teacher. And that's what gets you to the Super Bowl.
  21. Here is where I am at with Cody. Obviously it has not worked out well. But you if you are team who is looking to plug your line with mid round picks, you could do a lot worse than Cody. While that could be true for us, I think he actually has a chance to start somewhere else. It's a slim chance. Very slim. Like extremely slim.
  22. He definitely improves the beard game.
  23. Agreed 100%. If you have any shot at trading him for an asset, it has to be some team that really loved him pre-draft and are willing to ignore the last 3 years of game film. Or an emergency situation like you mentioned. Showcasing Cody is like an Oxymoron.
  24. Yeah this fees like the EJ Manuel draft. I am not sure teams will reach for guys. But we shall see. I sure hope they do so the talent cascades to 25.
  25. Holding is now a part of the job of the punter. Like it or not, it is in the job description. With new CBAs etc these teams barely practice at all. And with everyone bigger and faster now, if it isn’t a perfect snap, hold, kick its gonna probably get blocked. so it needs to be streamlined and automatic. Punters and kickers are all kind of the same. There are some elite guys, and then a bunch of average dudes, and guys who suck. So if the guy can’t hold, he really can’t do the job. That’s like having a McDonald’s employee who makes great burgers, but just can’t seem to figure out the fryer, so the fries come out bad and soggy. You are going to just fire that person and find someone who is at least ok doing both.
