  1. Giants? Vikings? I'd still take Danielle Hunter off there hands.
  2. Singleton is really a WILL backer. The few times I have watched them play, he was all over the field, but he is similar to Matt Milano. Good add as a linebacker and special teams guy, but one would think he might find a starting gig elsewhere. Unless the Bills want to use him on passing downs with Milano and have Tremaine rush the passer. PFF doesn't love him, but I don't love PFF stuff. Maybe he has some inside knowledge on Troy Andersen as they are Montana State guys, though they never played together.
  3. Those prices are going to have to come down if those guys wat to secure jobs. With the draft as strong as it is for DBs, they have to be careful not to price themselves out.
  4. Perusing what is left of the guard market there is not much left, especially when you consider that this team seems to be looking for the RAS guys. Unsurprisingly, Cody Ford had some terrible agility score. My conclusion is that we really need to try to keep Bates. Will Hernandez - Somewhat surprising to me, but he has some nice athletic traits. Hernandez did not have a great start to his career with the Giants, but really who has? There is upside there. Honestly, Hernandez is really the only guy out there who is still young with upside. Laurent Duvernay-Tardif? Maybe. Former Chief that was pushed out of a job. The Jets probably cut Greg Van Roten, who surprisingly, (at least to me) posted a great RAS score coming out but he was atrocious with the Jets. He was solid with the Panthers. We had rumored interest in him during free agency. My unrealistic dream is that the Falcons miss out on Watson, trade Matty ice, go into full rebuild mode, and trade us Chris Lindstrom. FYI The Vikings version of Tremaine, message board scapegoat, is Garrett Bradbury. It looks like they are thinking of Bates as a center upgrade. They should sign JC Tretter and leave our guy alone.
  5. Excellent article on what McDermott's defense looked like before the shift to full time 4-2-5. He hasn't done a ton of 4-3 under here, bit it is essentially a 4 man front with a walk up linebacker off the edge. It is what Von Miller was doing in Denver for most of his career early on. It is an very strong run defense. https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2017/1/12/14236950/sean-mcdermott-buffalo-bills-head-coach-4-3-defense-all-22
  6. Overall, I am not sure what the Patriots are doing honestly.
  7. Time to get triggered:
  8. Somehow them dudes are hanging around
  9. Gotta repurpose my Dareus jersey again
  10. It was total mishandling. I think they were just so desperate for sacks that they made that move. And now he just had another meh wasted year. I am holding out hope that he just needs a minute. It took him a while at Iowa. But hope is starting to wane.
  11. Dude gave a pretty interesting and profound interview. Great listen.
  12. Bobby Johnson kept him on the bench all these years. So I guess he’s happy with good ole Mongo
  13. It is an interesting way to get a long term deal signed as well. I would think that the Viking would try to pry him with multiple years. It sets the market and gives Bates and the Bills an idea of what he is worth.
  14. I would have added Dri Archer. But that’s me.
  15. It sounds cheesy, but I think the presence of Settle is going to help Tremaine Edmunds on and off the field. Phillips and Shaq with Ed as well. It’s a cool dynamic that I will be happy to watch.
  16. I like it. And I honestly remember a lot of people on the board really liking him in the draft. Young and hungry
  17. Yeah Ford sucks and the guard market has really dried up. So unless somebody gets cut, we should very much try to keep Bates.
  18. Yeah it makes sense. But it is only about a million more. So I think if they were really planning on him being their guy they should have done that. At the same time, it is hard to put a price on guys like this, so finding out what another team is willing to pay is not a terrible strategy.
  19. They are pretty much in the same boat as us in terms of cap space, so it is interesting to see where this goes. Bates, Edmunds, pick for Danielle Hunter? If they were planning on him being their starter, they should have given him a 2nd round tender, and they didn't. So they are either taking a huge risk, or they don't think as highly of him as we do, or they are planning on finding a starting guard in the draft.
  20. They better not steal our guy
  21. We are in excellent shape. IMO we need: Corners: Whether it is a vet or a rookie, or both that is a glaring hole imo. I like Dane Jackson, but he is just a cheaper Levi. We need an upgrade there, preferably really fast. WR depth: I think McKenzie has a role, but not sure he is a full time slot. I nominate Adam Humphries. It would be amazing if Allen Robinson too less to join the party. The deep speed of Will Fuller would be nice, and he has a lot to prove. Maybe a young and hungry Dante Pettis. Backup QB. I keep saying Jacoby Brissett, but honestly this can go in any number of directions once the dust settles on the Watson stuff. Tackle Depth: There a bunch of free agent guys out there. One guy who makes sense is Jason Spriggs, a super high RAS guy who can play either tackle. IOL Depth: None of the guys left in free agency are better than Bates imo. So I pencil him in there and likely draft IOL early. And preferably a guy who can play center so Bates can focus on one position. Change of Pace RB: I like Jerick McKinnon, a guy who can catch it and run it with speed. More DL Depth: The more the merrier, Calais Campbell, Morgan Fox, Akiem Hicks, Carl Nassib, Matt Ioannidis. Competition and depth at Linebacker: We all have our opinions on Tremaine, but let's bring in legit competition and see what happens. Is that Bobby Wagner, or LVE, or Kwon Alexander? Or a rookie like Brandon Smith, my personal draft crush.
  22. Adam Humphries. Similar type of agility, 4 years younger, so if you project his production it is on par with Beasley. Much cheaper without all the drama. A process guy who we were in on a few years ago before he went to the Titans. He is also a little bigger with better short are quickness. Perfect replacement. also a former Commie, so makes him kind of like a former Panther. Also some YAC ability
  23. If they picked Najee or Etienne, it would have been a very bad decision on both counts as they would not have Rousseau. This is the Josh Allen team. Any running back is only going to account for a small portion of the offense unless they can catch the ball like an Etienne or McCaffrey. This isn't ground and pound and that is why I think it would be a bad decision and why I don't think they go there first round, unless Hall is far and away the BPA on the board.
  24. I am happy we still have our picks. Watching the Bills play last season, I never got the sense that it was our year. Now, it is starting to feel like this team is being set up to take that next step.
