  1. Agreed. Brown is going to excel there and Murray can hit the deep ball. They are an interesting team to watch.
  2. The Cowboys connection is that Abram Elam played for them. They had him twice in his career and he is Bill Parcells guy. On wikipedia it says that Jerry Jones let him use the team's private plane to get to his father's funeral. So maybe they didn't want Kaiir, but there is a strong connection there with the Cowboys as Jerry has a relationship with dad. If Beane had any inkling they would take him, or anyone would trade up to grab him, then the trade is a no brainer. I was thinking a mini trade up for a guy they were targeting, but I was not thinking ElAm. I think there was someone on here saying that there was ZERO chance the Bills would trade up. I wonder where that guy is today.
  3. I was his looking at his dad's Abram Elam's, who was a Bill Parcells guy, wikipedia and this is crazy and sad: "Since 1987, three of Elam's siblings were shot to death. His older brother, Donald Runner, was fatally shot in 1987. His sister Christina, was killed in 1999. On May 9, 2008, his older brother Donald Elam was fatally shot; at age 14, Donald was once the youngest person ever indicted for murder in Palm Beach County, though he was later acquitted. On December 1, 2011, Abram's father died, and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones let Abram use his private plane to go to Florida to be with his family. His younger brother, Matt Elam played in the NFL for the Baltimore Ravens. His son, Kaiir Elam, played defensive back for the University of Florida and was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft." Matt Elam also got in some trouble with the law. Not saying anything about Kaiir, but he is coming from a pretty complicated situation. From everything that people are saying he seems like a tremendous fit for the culture here.
  4. I think he is angling to become the media DB guru.
  5. I live in NY in the Jets/Giants area and these dudes are funny. I mean of course the Jests are going to have a good draft on paper. They had three first round picks. You better have a good one. Too bad Wilson is terrible.
  6. Just call em a bunch of malakas and they will understand lol!
  7. His 2020 draft was terrible. 2021 doesn't look amazing either, though Vera-Tucker is excellent. Moore is interesting. They love their Hyperbole. It will be interesting to see how it plays out when Wilson's rookie contract is up. I mean that is really what it is all about. I think he is terrible, but if he pans out they will be in good shape in a few years. The crazy thing is, when they have to pay him in year 5-6, they will have to pay maybe Becton, Vera Tucker and will have to decide if they want to pick up fifth year options on Gardner, G. Wilson, and Johnson. Again first world problems down the line, and Douglas may be fired by then, but sometimes having too many first round picks could backfire in the long run. Douglas did a nice job, but not sure he really is seeing the big picture in roster construction, and that is why Beane is the man.
  8. @GunnerBill Any chance you have a best available list for tonight?
  9. They also took Jonathan Meeks instead of Micah Hyde. But yeah they can get back into the 4th with no issue at all if they want to. The have t make sure they hit in rounds 2 and 3. Personally, I would trade more picks in this draft to get multiple twos or threes tonight.
  10. Agreed. I have some level of pride as a Greek American here, and now I have to hate the dude. At least I still have Giannis.
  11. I am thinking receiver if anyone is left of the Watson/Pickens/Moore/Pierce group. I could see McBride or Jelani Woods. Could be Hall/Walker. Totally fine with Hall in round 2. Was not okay in round 1. My guess? Phidarian Mathis, Travis Jones or Damarvin Leal. I like Jalen Pitre.
  12. I love McDuffie. And I did think he fit our scheme really well. We will never know if they liked Elam more than McDuffie. I am annoyed that he wound up with KC, because so I badly want to route for the kid, and now I can't. But I do agree with what is being said in this thread that Elam seems more of the flavor of corner they are looking for. Kansas City will probably move McDuffie around a bit and he will be a pain to play against, but I am good with how things fell.
  13. Classic JESTS. Is Sauce a meme somewhere? ike the Jon Travolta looking around thing?
  14. Haha! I would appreciate that. But seriously, I am always willing to admit that I am wrong when we take receipts. And I am wrong a lot. So I am just pointing out that I had some level of success in a fantasy board draft. Also, a lot of people said a lot of really dumb stuff over the past few weeks that was extremely inaccurate so I hope they take some receipts as well.
  15. Elam is long. He is tall nearly 6-2. His arms are "short" so to speak at 30⅞", but considering his arm length, his wingspan is huge by relation 76½". That is a bit longer than Tre White's 76.125 inches. So next time we have the arm length conversation, I am thinking wingspan is more important to these guys.
  16. In TSW mock draft 1.0 I had the Eagles taking Jordan Davis, which was met with doubts. I think it is the perfect fit. In 2.0 I had the Texans taking Derek Stingley (at 13). Banging the table that Stingley he is better than Gardner. The League agreed. In 3.0 I had the Saints taking Olave. That is why i love those drafts that @Virgil organzies. So much appreciated. It is was a really interesting draft and there is still a ton of talent on the board. Excited for today.
  17. Anybody still think they think super highly of Dane Jackson? I kid, I kid. He is good depth and he will push Elam as Beane mentioned in his presser. All that conjecture about the regime not spending on #2 corner and all that jazz was just wrong. All that stuff about not starting a corner and all that was inaccurate. Elam was my "I would settle for" pick in that other thread. I wanted McDuffie. I thought it was going to be Booth. It makes a lot of sense and I have felt since the jump that there were 4 top corners and the Bills would make sure that they got one of those guys. Where I was mistaken is that I had Booth in that top four rather than Elam. We can argue Booth till we are blue in the face, but he is still on the board and there must be a reason for that. When Beane says Elam was the last first round pick on the board, I believe him and sacrificing that late pick to move up to secure him is the right move. They got a guy in the first round with a first round grade. I am good with this. I think that he's a good piece of clay for the Bills to mold. The bottom line is that they got a lot better, the level of ability between Elam and Dane/Levi is extremely significant.
  18. Been saying Stingley is awesome.
  19. Marquan mcCall! Love that dude 6-3, 379 and he can move Likely is a good weapon in the RPO game. I like his upside. I like TY too!
  20. Jones has good traits. He was over drafted, thrown to the fire, and had some awful coaching. Where I kind of blame him, is that I fee like he could have corrected those flaws in the offseason. So I am curious to see where it goes. He is similar to Darnold in my mind. Rejecting the option makes a ton of sense, and you put the honus on him.
  21. I like to look back at those “way too early next year mock drafts” that everyone posts like the day after the draft. He was the projected first round tight end before the season. So its projection. Bills have shown interest and it is totally worth a late round shot.
  22. Is that on ESPNU or something?
  23. No problem! You just have to be patient, because they do rehash a lot, but then they circle back to highlights and analysis for guys who were picked while they were rehashing and interviewing people.
  24. Because he is a righty! Jesus was a lefty.
  25. Yep. He’s the best corner in the draft. Probably the best player.
