  1. Not their type:
  2. Yeah Levi is one of the slowest corners in the NFL. He gets every ounce out of his ability and I appreciate his efforts as an UDFA, but at the end of the day he was a huge liability. But this is liking going from a Yugo to a Lamborghini.
  3. He reminds me of AJ Klein honestly. Spector is a bit smaller and more athletic and explosive. Spector should be able to gain 10 lbs in an NFL strength program and his instincts will play. I really like him.
  4. I feel like part of that is the drafting BPA for need strategy as they shore up the defense. I think the other part about that is when their time has come on the clock, a lot of the defensive players on the board were just better than the offense imo. 2022 - Elam was the right pick over guys like Hall and Watson. 2nd round Cook works. 2021 - The argument can be made that they should have taken Elijah Moore or Javonte Williams. I think they made the right choice in Rousseau. Rd 2, I like Basham more than most, but they should have taken Creed Humphrey. 2020 - Diggs trade rd 1 (If they didn't make that trade I assume they draft Jefferson), Rd 2 in a redraft I am taking Antonio Gibson there. I also really like Jeremy Chinn. Obviously AJ was the wrong pick, but the offensive players around there were very meh aside from a few. Ezra Cleveland is pretty good as well and fits the profile of linemen they are now looking for. To me JK Dobbins is meh. 2019 - Ed Oliver was the right choice. And if we did a re-draft I would consider Brian Burns. The best offensive player selected after our pick was Chris Lindstrom and then a bunch of linemen who had their 5th year option rejected. Obviously the Cody Ford debacle in the 2nd is a problem and that is probably their biggest mistake. However, they were trying to shore up gaping hole at RT. 2018 - Josh Draft, an argument can be made for DJ Moore over Tremaine.
  5. I have to say that this pick is really growing on me. I really didn't know much about the guy, but he has some very cool traits. This may be our next safety honestly.
  6. Giants fans are foolish. They think Feliciano is the second coming for some reason. A lot of fans have pencilled him in as their starting center.
  7. I think they really like Jones. He is a “Matthew Slater” level special teamer, except his dad wasn’t a famous NFL Hall of Famer so no one cares. Having guys like Jones around is pretty valuable. Something has to give in the running back room, but I am not sure Jones is the one who is a goner.
  8. From a wheel chair? Nah
  9. Probably a culture guy for Lovie. Smith and Frazier are very close so Leslie probably gave him a great review.
  10. It happened with the Chargers Drew Kaser. He averaged like 48 on punts and got cut because he could not hold. He is out of the league. But generally it is never an issue.
  11. This article is really amazing. I love the bit about Schoen being all gross and sweaty, literally sweating it out in 2018.
  12. Ok so with the Breece Hall tidbit, if Elam was gone and we took Breece, in the second the corners available when we picked were Cam Taylor-Britt and Martin Emerson. So would you rather have: Elam and Cook or Hall and Taylor-Britt/Emerson I would take Elam and Cook all day every day. JMO.
  13. 100% it is Elam. No doubt. We have been getting by with scrubs across from Tre. Having a truly talented corner with that speed and size is awesome.
  14. Maybe more subtle like Matt “the messiah” Araiza? We used to have a guy named legatron who sucked. Schmidt maybe? Maybe legatron fits better here? Or like Araiza 1:19 says I just pinned ur ass
  15. Yeah I agree. I think a young developing guy is way better just kind of staying on one side, at least as a tackle. For me a guard doesn't matter as much.
  16. Looking at mocks like this, I am just so happy and relieved that we have Josh.
  17. I think he meant that if Dion goes down they would flip Brown to the other side and bring in a RT, which is something they did last year when Dion was out.
  18. I agree. I was responding to people who are saying "why didn't they take so and so." The simple answer is that they liked Bernard better and passed on those other guys.
  19. Some ideas: Riley Reiff T - Perfect swing tackle who has a lot of experience and could start for you if need be. Billy Price C/G - Interior O linemen who has had a very disappointing career so far. Can play guard or center and played much better with the Giants. Trey Hopkins also makes sense as a backup IOL. Kyle Long is probably done, but is a Kromer guy from his time with the Bears. Jesse James TE - Is it finally time for this to happen? Stephen Carlson - H back type tight end Dante Pettis WR - I think there is something there. Always liked him and can compete as a return guy Will Fuller WR - He hasn't't played in a while, but he is the guy who can stretch the field, which we don't quite have in our corps right now. I know a lot of people don't like him, but I think he is a fit. Landon Collins - DB - A chance to revive his career and he could serve as a top flight #3 safety, play a ton of specials and play some heavy nickel. Collins is coming out of Ron rivera's system, so should have some knowledge about the scheme. That's all I got.
  20. They chose Bernard over guys like Leo Chenal and Brandon Smith. So obviously they liked him better. That is the way the draft goes.
  21. Joe Marino said something interesting in his recap, that Bernard could allow them to play more 4-3 sets as opposed to always being in that 4-2-5 front. Having Bernard and Milano as outside backers gives you enough coverage ability that you can get away with more base sets and have a stronger run defense. I thought it was a good point. Bernard could enter into a bit of a job share with Taron Johnson.
  22. His write up on NFL.com is something else: A coach's dream, combining competitive nature, exciting versatility and elite character on and off the field. For a short-armed player with average explosiveness, Shakir puts an emphatic stamp on games. He's more football player than prototypical slot receiver and needs to prove he can handle an increase in contested catches. He can be activated from a variety of alignments with the vision, wiggle and toughness to move the chains once the ball is in his hands. He finds a way to frequently show up on the notepad when watching tape and his will to outperform the guy across from him should not be overlooked. Shakir should become a valuable piece for a creative play-caller. Impressive stuff.
  23. Everything is on the first page. Not sure if any of them are technically official yet.
  24. Agreed. Gaine was a pretty calming influence. So boring is sometimes better!
  25. Gaine seems like the most un-interesting person on the planet. Maybe being in Houston crushed his soul.
