  1. Unless something changes on this roster, they are drafting a corner in the first round. Anyone who thinks any differently are likely lying to themselves. It’s a massive need and Beane seems to leave one huge position of need for the draft every year. It’s been his MO. Convincing ourselves that he drafts BPA is just not true. Now which corner it is, who knows…but it’s going to be a corner imo and Amos fits what they look for.
  2. And just to add to the punt discussion, Miami signed Ryan Stonehouse. So there will be a competition between he and Jake Bailey. If this Camarda-Robbins battle does not work out, one of those two guys likely shakes loose. Dolphins new special team coach comes from the Titans, so it seems likely that Bailey is gone with some cap savings as well.
  3. He seems to outkick his coverage and doesn't have that savvy, which was a concern coming out. Jake Camarda was a much better prospect coming out, so if he makes it for us, the whole Araiza saga comes full circle in a way that feels somewhat okay with me.
  4. Watching his press conference, this dude has been through some stuff and seems very appreciative of what he has earned from hard work and dedication to the craft and thanks those few people who really believed in him along the way. There is some tremendous pain in those eyes. I am happy for him.
  5. David Shannahan, left footer, former Gaelic footballer. Checks some boxes. But to me this is Camarda’s job to lose. Beane did say they were very high on him in the draft. He had two really good years and struggled this year and was cut. He’s a great athlete and there is upside there. Robbins feels like a nothing burger.
  6. Diggs and Josh McDaniels are about as toxic as you can get for a young quarterback like Drake Maye. Add Vrabel to the equation and a backup quarterback with physical traits like Joe Milton and it is shaping up to be a bad situation for Maye.
  7. @GunnerBill awesome work! with the way this draft fell, if the Bills force a corner pick, which I think they will do if no other additions were made, whose the corner left on the board you would take if forced to pick a corner at our pick?
  8. I wanna see that cake clap
  9. Bryant Johnson watch all over again
  10. I have fallen into the trade for young vets who have fallen down the depth chart/fallen out of favor trap and the two guys who make sense the most to me are Julius Brents and Jalin Hyatt. And so I will sit alone on this hill and wait and see if anything happens with those guys. It's more likely that their teams will go into camp to see what they have, but if I am the Bills, with ten draft picks I would be willing to sacrifice a couple of picks to add those two guys who are still younger than some of the guys in this draft class.
  11. I think he makes a ton of sense because he adds and interesting dynamic to the offense that isn't quite present.
  12. Yeah Fotu is similar, at least on paper to Jones.
  13. I would look to trade a pick somewhere for a young guy who is now blocked because of what his team did in free agency. I mentioned trying to get Alex Austin back from the Pats, coaching changes etc and he is basically a 3/4 corner there where I would be excited to have him starting here opposite Benford over guys like Jackson. This seems unlikely, but it's something I would pursue. How about JuJu Brents? He has had issues staying on the field, but he has flown down the depth chart in Indy, and there was also a defensive coaching change there. I am not sure he is a great fit for the scheme there now. He was already behind Kenny Moore and Jaylon Jones, and they added Charvarius Ward and Corey Ballentine. He seems like a guy who badly needs a change of scenery, and I always like his fit here. Brents is a slower corner at 4.53 with ridiculously long arms and a crazy 3 cone. I'd give them what we got for Kair. Maybe Jacksonville's Montaric Brown or Jarrian Jones? Seems like they are making changes there. Just some ideas to try and get guys who maybe could use a change of scenery. I would love to get our hands on Brents. He was made to play in the McDermott scheme.
  14. The guy that there were rumors about Samuel...is still around. I just really hope they add a legit starting corner, otherwise, they are telegraphing their first round draft pick once again.
  15. I don't think he is the tub of goo we (the fans) are really looking for, but he adds depth and I am ok with it if he I really cheap. He is pretty big but he is also pretty tall and long, he isn't the fire hydrant NT type. He's more epoor man's Raekwon Davis, the long nose tackle. Not the best breakdown, but there is a lot of him playing three tech in here, and some zero.
  16. I suppose that’s my point in a backwards way. Newsome is not a great fit here imo, is very expensive and is on the brink of walking. Emerson is a great fit, cheap, and also on the brink of walking. Maybe Newsome is available, but I don’t think the Bills can afford to pay him 14 mil, or would be willing to pay what it cost to get him. IMO the Bills would prefer a guy like Emerson, but the Browns are less likely to want to move him because he is cheap, but he is also on the brink of walking. I don’t think either situation works.
  17. I am not Gunner, but I’ll share my take anyways… I think the issues with Newsome are multiple…first he is a nickel corner. I suppose the Bills could move him back outside, but he’s become a nickel guy. Second he is playing on a 5th year option, so not only is the salary high, nearly 14 million for 1 year, he then becomes a free agent. So you aren’t signing Newsome and Benford. And finally, despite all of those issues with the fit, he will also cost a significant draft pick imo. The better fit is Martin Emerson. He seemed like a great fit here draft time, he played corner at Mississippi State where McDermott has ties, and he was coming out as a good zone corner. Long arms, a little slower, tackles..he’s a McDermott corner. However, the issue is he is an also a free agent after 2025 so you run into the same issues. I could see the Browns trying to get something for him if they plan to pay Newsome, because they won’t be able to pay Emerson, Newsome, and Ward. But I think a trade for him is more realistic mid season. But I don’t think the Browns would trade a young, cheap, corner unless they want him out or are trying to get something for him before he leaves.
  18. Thanks, and he may well be done, but Bills brass, who I do not typically support, don't usually say things like that about players.
  19. It's not the Bills' style to do that type of thing. But Browns will be Browns.
  20. Porter seems like he was made in a lab to play for McDermott. Long arms, zone acumen. The problem is he's like 8 months younger than Benford. Maybe it makes sense to have an older prospect for really cheap to play opposite Benford.
  21. If all else fails you can always trade him to the Cowboys for a 5 and 6 since we jumped them for him. But I do think he comes around.
  22. Yep. Beane needed a RT. Really good thread...if someone wants to make one for cornerback that would be cool, since right now that is going to be our first round pick.
  23. Yeah I know people trust McDermott with DBs...I am not quite there, but I trust Kromer with OL. He is very unique in his teaching, teaches techniques that not many other guys teach and because of that he can re-program guys with things that work for them. I feel like he coaches to player's strengths rather than turning them into cookie cutter robots. So if he sees something in Green I'm down. PFF O line scores mean nothing IMO. It is good at times, I don't agree with their OL stuff.
