I’m very happy with how far we made it.

That's my point though. Winning the division doesn't say much. The Bills are better than the other three. Nobody doubts that -

Nobody doubts Allen will continue to be good next year. And I'm sure the team will win the division. That has never been a problem. Beane needs to bring in a stud number one receiver. Young pass rushers and CB's. Even if he does, KC, Baltimore, and Cincinnati will all improve too. -

Those other teams aren't defensive head coaches whose D gets obliterated by the same opponent consistently. Cincinnati's D did good against them in the two playoff games. SF D did good last year. Ravens D kept them in check last year despite Lamar screwing up. Allen is putting up stats against them. It's McD's defense that has been the issue. -

This. For 20 years the fans had to endure a dynasty in the division. A top 5 QB of all time. The organization had junk after junk at QB. We were jealous of the Patrots succes. Everyone wondered if we would get the guy at QB someday. Then, somehow we do get the guy. And...people will be ok with another year going by with no SB appeareance. Another loss to the same team and coaches? Allen is nearing 30. New England is thrash now. But what happens if they get the right players in. Maye becomes an elite QB. And..winning the division is no longer a given? Can't keep letting these opportunities slide through our fingers. -

We beat them in their house frequently during the regular season. Let's not act as if they blow us out. So, said regular season success proves they can play with these guys. This isn't Denver yoing into KC. This is a top three team going in there. So yes, a loss would hurt and make me angry. They are more than capable of beating them. It's not 2020 anymore. Where just making it to the AFC title game was a successful season. That year I knew we had no chance at winning. -

They've done enough this season to get to this point is what I mean. They've been a top three team all year. It's not as if they are Denver who was just elated to make it. Follow the team as I always have. -

There's no viable replacement out there. Johnson & Vrabel are not an option now. Belichick is in NC. McCarthy will likely get the Saints or Raiders job. Regardless, McD wouldn't be fired if the team lost 71-24. And great coaches were available. But...I'm of the opinion he should be gone with a loss. Specifically, one where his D is shredded. How could you not be upset with yet another loss to the same team? I'm legitimately asking. Not trying to be rude. -

This. I'm also not suggesting McD is a bad HC. I'm going by other sports. In Baseball or basketball, if a HC lost to the same team 4/5 years, while being mostly outcoached by the same people, they would be fired. Regardless of the round it happened in. Win or lose Sunday, KC isn't going away. They will be in our way to a SB for the foreseeable future. We can't keep trying to beat another army with the same generals at the helm. Have to wonder how much faith the QB will have in the coaching staff if the D let's the team down again. Everything we are thinking is probably going through his mind. -

Fair or not, the season is a failure for me if they can't get to the SB. It doesn't matter if they exceeded expectations. They are here now. Have a great opportunity. They've earned the right. With an elite QB, you need to be able to get over the hump (KC) eventually. These opportunities aren't guaranteed each year. Losing 4/5 years to these guys just isn't acceptable for me. Sorry.- 178 replies

AFC Championship Game Week Thread - Bills at Chiefs
Billsfanatic8989 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just researched. No NFL team has ever defeated another team in the postseason four times in a five year span. A loss would be historic. Do you fear them losing because the Chiefs are much better or mostly due to the officiating? You have to wonder if the refs would dare make the calls they made Saturday against the Texans in Orchard Park (Chiefs@Bills). The fact this is in KC makes it tough. -

The national media narrative since the Bills won

Ben Volin (Boston writer) thinks KC wins 45-21 -
What about going exclusively to a no huddle offense. Or is it too late in the game (no pun intended) to try that?

I'm looking through NFL history. Has one team ever defeated another team in the postseason four out of five years? It seems impossible to imagine. Denver beat Cleveland 3/4 years in the 80's. NE absolutely owned Pittsburgh and Jacksonville in the postseason. But the victories were spread out over decades. -

Chiefs would pick on him all game. Would be a disastrous decision. -

You get that recognition when you consistently get to AFC title games and win several SB's. They got the credit because it was earned. The Bills haven't done anything to really get that recognition yet. Win a SB and the narrative changes. -
So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well...no imo. If the Bills get one ring, the goal should be two. There are plenty of one off SB winners who get forgotten. Multiple SB winning teams are remembered most. So if he was having 3-14 level years, he would likely be gone. -

The difference is Allen has been great while the D has been bad in postseason losses. That's on McD and why Sunday is the biggest game of his life. Why do the Bills keep beating them in the regular season. Yet, losing in the postseason? It has to be coaching and defense. Does the pressure get to McD? Harbaugh has his moments. But his QB is the one turning it over. He can't help it if his TE drops and fumbles balls. -

Refs won't allow the Bills to.get ahead that much. Pegula needs to be making a call to the league this week and ensure no funny business happens Sunday. -
Need to go all out to stop Barkley and force Hurts to be MVP of the game. Our receivers against their back end is an advantage for them too. We don't have an AJ brown out there who can exploit great D's. Our RB's would need to be the X factor. Said turnovers were a dropped snap and not securing the ball. I feel like scheme wise, the Bills did nothing to fool them.
-
No. The Ravens had three turnovers and still put up 25 points. Their turnovers were more self-inflicted than anything the Bills did. The fact they could have won despite this is scary. I don't have faith in McD's defense to stop an offense that doesn't turn it over. Who aren't sloppy. Who have historically shredded his D in the postseason. The only way we are winning this is by shredding their D. Which isn't easy. It will take a 40-37 type win. Edit: I just feel like KC has more ways to win than us.

So how is the #1 receiver. The open guy? Coleman?

That FG Decision by McDermott
Billsfanatic8989 replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know what you mean. McDermott is second guessed either way if Baltimore wins. People will scream he should have went for it. Ended the game right there and the Ravens don't get a chance to tie. People will scream they failed on 4th down. Allowing Baltimore to get the winning score. Instead of the fg.
