Definitely not something I ever expected to hear about the Detroit Lions. But it's definitely true. -

What do people think about this Maye kid in New England? He might end up good. But they aren't going anywhere with that hc and other players. -
Take a look at Belichick/Brady's record in close games. Montana/Walsh. Reid & Mahomes. We have one half of the equation (QB). We are missing that other half. Some will say Belichick is a defensive coach first. True. But his defenses were able to shut down elite offenses when it mattered most. Sean's defenses have never been at a Belichick level.

Huge reason this franchise won't get over the hump with McDermott. Culture and stability alone doesn't win titles. McD got the franchise back to respectability. But in 2024 that SHOULD not be enough any longer. At some point you have to realize you have a franchise QB and he is being wasted.

Raiders are open to trading Davante Adams
Billsfanatic8989 replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are a team that desperately needs him the most. Forget culture. I'd rather win a SB with shaky "morals" than losing with good guy receivers. The Chiefs have the coaching and TE to overcome a lack of receivers. We do not...at least not to their level. -

It's clear Baltimore is much better than us. -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
As of this minute Allen is playing better. Stats wise at least. McDermott is a defense first HC. Yet, usually it's his defense costing the team postseason games. This team should have a defense on par with KC. Three weeks in they look good. However, I'll reserve judgement until the schedule gets tougher. -

Than the answer is Mahomes. -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?

I'm adding context. Obviously there's no case to take Allen over Mahomes right now. Mahomes has 3 SB titles. But I believe coaching is what has cost the Bills in the postseason. Talent wise, JA and PM are very similar. So in a postseason game, I don't worry about Allen vs Mahomes per se. I worry about Reid vs McDermott. -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Forget Mahomes vs Allen. All things being equal, both have the talent and drive to win. Both were phenomenal in 2021 & 2023 playoff games. The biggest concern is Spagnola/Reid vs McDermott. It's not close in the postseason. And I believe KC holds things back in regular season games because they know in the grand scheme of things...said game is meaningless. A QB can play great and yet still be letdown by coaching. That's Allen/McDermott postseason. -
Bills vs Jags Game Week Thread - MNF
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
This has all the makings of a classic letdown game on primetime against a not so good team. Team needs to come out. Take care of business. And move on to Baltimore. Going 3-0 makes the Ravens game not as important. -

Jesus that looked bad. Real bad. I certainly hope this guy doesn't have to retire at 26. Brutal. -
Packers QB Jordan Love - sprained MCL out 3-6 weeks

Rumors are he might be back after two weeks. They can't afford to throw thrash like Malik Willis out there for too long. -
The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he's still an elite QB who makes players better around him. But the point is, I could live with not getting him. But it stings we handed him over to KC. Exactly. You never trade like that in conference. If it was an NFC team...go for it. -

And we have a few SB wins right about now. So... -
The chatter around the Worthy trade isn't rational
Billsfanatic8989 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fair or not, two franchise altering decisions were made: 1. Not drafting Mahomes. It was idiotic at the time. Not hindsight. We had no QB at the time. 2. Getting a worthless late first rounder while simultaneously turning the Chiefs into a dynasty. We unintentionally cost ourselves a few SB trips because of one move. -
We have not taken a step back.
Billsfanatic8989 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Step back? No Step forward? Also no Right now, KC, Bal, Cin, & Hou all have better teams imo. And if Rodgers is healthy, I'm not seeing us being that much better than the Jets. Thus, winning this division is no longer a guarantee. Time is running out. If NE actually gets a franchise QB, they could be division contenders by 2026. -
Tbh, that is not an impressive looking receiving core.
