  1. Anybody who can honestly treat Henry like he was a subpar back is sniffing glue! WHile he did have a fumbling problem 2 years ago, Henry was a hard nose running who gave everything he had on the field as at times he refused to be tackled by one defender. How can anybody try and take his past 3 years in vain, especially last year when we had no passing game to speak of whatsoever? This guy had 10+ TD's the past 3 years! And just because teams play to stop the pass doesn't mean that a running game will develop; if so where was Marino's 1300 yard back or Elway in his early Super Bowl runs? And for those who give KillDrive the credit, maybe he was on to something that the Bills should take note of: if you don't have a dominant blocking FB, you can sometimes have more running success by running with a 3 WR set as it spreads the D out and puts an extra guy in coverage. If it wasn't for McGahee fans would be giving him more props and blaming the O-line. Now just because we have McGahee who hasn't faired much better everyone seems to forget what Henry has done and now take shots at him. I'll bet you will remember him when he is playing for another team giving his all and being productive while McGahee is playing for another team as he and his agent will want an astronomical contract to stay a Bill. WM doesn't show the willingness to give his all for the TEAM like TH for TH seems to be Bills first, TH second. I think WM is the other way around, only time will tell!
  2. Maybe he is finally planning on using both in the backfield at the same time like he had suggested all preaseason...
  3. and then set up the line this way: LT Jennings/Price LG Mike Williams C Teague/Tucker RG Villareal RT Price/Peters/Free Agent Look the guys we have aren't that bad. When Drew is replaced with JPL next year (or this year if we are lucky) then you will notice a big improvement in pass blocking. While I still think M. Williams gets too much blame just because he was a high pick, since his strength is drive blocking he'd be a stud at guard, probably the next Larry Allen. At center I think both Teague or Tucker could get the job done equally. Now at RT, Price has proven he can play either side effectively; if Jonas comes cheap we could move Price to RT. Then if Price is set at RT, this lineup would look pretty good. Now if Jonas cost too much, simply replace him with Price at LT. This wouldn't be much of a drop off and then either groom Peters to take over at RT or sign a free-agent RT. I think that by 2005 with a year and another off season to get adjusted Peters will be a force to consider at tackle for he definitely fits the bill (or Bill) athletically. Overall, the key change would need to be at QB for once Drew is replaced there will no longer be a sitting duck back there. Unless a team blitz you rarely see immediate pressure upon Bledsoe. Now while all the sacks aren't Drew's fault, half of his sacks are either coverage sacks or instances where he doesn't sense the rush and step up in the pocket. If we had a QB who could beat the blitz then guess what; teams won't be as tempted. Besides this year this group of guys have proven they can run block as TH hasn't gotten all those yards by himself the past 3 years; with M.Williams at guard we will pave the way to victory in 2005. All we need now is a coach or GM with the you know what to make bold changes and put these players in the best position regardless of salary or preference. I guess Murlakey is on the right track for by placing starters on special teams for our special teams has played better than they have in years. If he takes that same attitude to the O-line and QB then we'd be an elite team again instead of a heartbreak hotel losing close games and what ifs'!
  4. I thought about this yesterday: maybe the football gods have put a curse on Tom Donahoe for coming in and sticking it to Bruce,Thurman, and Andre. Maybe we can't win until someone sticks it to TD; just a thought!
  5. While Eric has dropped a few passes this year he has more than made up for them as he is the only weapon we have. Dropping all key TD's, he has made all of them besides 2! BTW TO has made his share of drops this year and in his career but he like Moulds has more than made up for it. I can't believe anyone who has watched any Bills game would be stupid enough to say Moulds is over rated or should be traded, especially when he has made all these plays, continued his catch streak, etc without ever having a quality top QB getting him the ball or a legitimate offensive scheme that has an orchestraed gameplan. Imagine Moulds playing in a West Coast offense or catching balls from Peyton. Or worse case cut him and watch Tom Brady or even Jay Fielder dropping bombs on him burning our db's...
  6. No the sad thing will be starting the what if's IF we turn things around and end up winning WINNABLE agmes and end up one game back from missing the playoffs in 2004 or us fixing the offense in 2005 with JPL but then having the D fall off...it seems that us Bills fan just can't win. I know that once we become competitive again I'll have to listen to my friend rag (he is an annoying Cowgirl friend BTW) about how we can't win the big one. Until we win it all we will never win to some. But what the he!!; a 3 game winning streak or a convincing win against a team like the Pats would seem great right now...
  7. Regadless though the D has played pretty gold all year; as good the Pats or Jets. As a matter of fact better for they have been exposed because of an inept offense that they have to bail out. Imagine the Colts with our defense playing the way they have in 2004 or us having evn half the offense Indy or the Vikings have; we'd be at least 4-2 or hell 6-0!
  8. ...Drew and company throw it away! This is very frustrating how the Bills can not put it together; in 2002 we were all offense no defense. In the first few games last year before Moulds got hurt we looked like a team; after he goes down until now we are a one dimensional team that can't win on that dimension: damn good but not great on D. I just knew for sure in 2004 that by us keeping the same defensive personell, swapping Vincent for Winfield that this team would kick some @$$ this year for with a healthy Moulds and the drafting of Lee Evans this offense would step it up enough to make us contenders; boy was I wrong! Hell maybe we should kept KillDrive I meant Gilbride as offensive coordinator for at least this year he has better personell to run his style of offense this year. I don't get it; it seems as if the only consistent offensive threat we have is Moulds. There seems to be truth to those posts were Drew haters claim he locks on to one reciever. And all these stupid posts I have read the past few weeks regarding dumping Moulds are ludacris; if he had say went to Philly ala TO he'd be the one lighting the NFL up! I mean can't we find a way to get the other guys involved? I mean Reed strength is suppose to be crossing routes and RAC, where is it? Where is the utilization of Lee Evans instead of just using him as a decoy? Where is the passes to Campbell? At least they have finally got Shelton involved. For the past few years the Bills have never established a passing game with a two-back set, their main running personell or ran consistently with a 3 WR set. They are so predictable it is painful. They have no scheme whatsoever, it is pathetic. Do you know what my worse fear is? That the Bills will finally get it all together, go on a winning streak and miss the playoffs by one game and leave the fans sitting here saying what if at the beginning that had won this winnable game or that and then get our hopes up for 2005. Then based on the sucess of 2004 start out 2005 with Drew and START OUT LOSING THE SAME ALL OVER AGAIN MAKING THE SAME EXCUSES, WHAT IF!!!!
  9. Now I have nothing against most of the moves TD made for they were the most part well calculated moves that just haven't panned out yet; I'm not most on this board who give up on players after a few games. But the WM move on draft day I feel was bad for we were more than one player away and that player was not a RB. Now I am not dissing WM, I'm just responding to the statement that he should play for he was a first round pick. My whole problem with WM is the overhyping of his performance against a suspect run D and the taking for granted the play Henry has showed us the past 3 seasons. Now hear me out, while WM ran hard and gain all these yards after contact, he wouldn't have had to encounter as much contact at the line if he had ran into the hole where the play were designed instead of tippy toeing at the LOS. That is why he averaged about 3.2 yards; if he can correct this and hit the hole hard when it is there then maybe he can be special WHEN HE IS BACK TO RUNNING FULL SPEED! Everyone seems to have gotten brainwashed into thinking he is so much faster and more explosive than TH and at this point and this is clearly not true as WM is yet to show the speed he had at Miami. I'll admit he is much more physical back than I expected and a better blocker and probably a better reciever than TH but right now he is too hesitant when he hits the LOS to be considered a better runner and better D will expose his flaw and then you guys will be crying to put TH back in after a few sub-performances, WRITE IT DOWN, YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST!
  10. This year I'll admit Henry has struggled but also he has faced some good run defenses in the Jags & Raiders and he ran pretty good against NE (I was alittle disappointed about the Jets game however) and I would have expected the same if he had played against Miami for their run defense was suspect which is why I think WM game has been a little overated, especially being that he only average about 3.2 YPC outside the 31 yard run. To make Henry a scapegoat is ludacrous, especially with WM having similar averages in the same games running behind the same line. When the blocking picks up and the competition level drops Henry will once again excel but I mean running aginst the teams mentioned above and now the Ravens is no picnic. Some act like WM is Bo Jackson and TH is Marcus Allen, with one RB running for 5 YPC and the other at 3.8 YPC!
  11. So what if he was a number 1 draft pick? Most would agree that was a wasted pick, even if WM turns out to be the next OJ. All that will mean is that TD got lucky with his gamble. If he had drafted for other needs the Bills have we probably wouldn't be 1-4. Did you see the burst Joe Burns showed when he spelled WM in the Miami game or the game Sammy Morris had, does that make them special? If we had drafted for a need that year and just had one of these backs come of the bench we wouldn't have a need of 2 quality starting backs. With that being said, I wish WM all the best as I am a Bills fan. And how can you be stupid enough to make acomment that TH can't get the job done? BS; you'd have to be a fool to think he is hands down better than Henry; especially after posting identical numbersthroughout the year. As a matter of fact, up until the play where he slipped, TH game against NE was more impressive than WM game against the Dolphins as he consistently gained yardage against them keeping the chains moving..
  12. I can't believe some of you fans on this board; how you guys can jump on and off the ship so fast. I mean for the Bills sake I hope WM does well. But for god sakes he had one good game. I mean I kept note for at one point he had 23 for 75 yards, nothing special. But then he finished with 111 on 26 as he had a 31-yard run. While he ran hard, kept his feet moving and gain all those yards after contact, if you take away that run he only averaged 3.2 YPC. If Henry hadn't slipped on 3rd and 2, had a 20+ run and we had won that game against the Pats everybody be on his you know what; he finished with 98 yards as he ran hard from beginning to the end. My biggest irk is that some seem to think WM is so much faster or a break away threat than TH. He hasn't showed me any explosiveness whatsoever this year. The 31 yard run he had was more impressive with the stiff arm he showed than his display of speed. He NEVER explodes into a hole or out off a cut making defenses respect his speed. TH hits the hole way faster and harder than WM. Now WM can get by with his patient running style read and react defenses but aggressive, penetrating defenses will stop him cold if he continues to hesitate at the LOS. With that being said WM is strong runner, hard to bring down, moves the pile much better than I expected; I thought he'd be more of a slasher type. He also is a much better blocker than TH. Next year he might be all that is advertised. But for anybody to think that at this point and moment that WM is head and shoulders, hands down better runner than TH after one game is ludicrous for they must have amnesia to the way TH has played the past 3 seasons. It is a shame that the fans on this board can turn on Bills players so quick after one bad game or stretch. Think about, especially this year: Nate Clemens, Eric Moulds, Travis Henry London Fletcher, and Sam Adams has played consistently above average here for the past few years but once they have one bad play or game the fans here act like they are expendable and over rated. Some fans need to wake up a realized that one good play or game doesn't make a player a superstar or worthy of replacing a starter just as a bad play or game should send a major contributor to the bench. CONSISTENCY is the key...
  13. I will be moving to the area in November; more than likely in Northern Suffolk or Chesapeake. I'm coming to town this weekend for a visit and I want to know a place I can watch the Jets game.I remember a post a few weeks back about a few spots in VA Beach; can somebody tell me what those places were and/or if there are any spots closer in Chesapeake or Portsmouth to watch the game; or even Hampton for that matter?
  14. The Panthers playbook is great for the Bills. But the best feature on Madden is the create a playbook. You could simply go thru each team playbook and choose up to 78 plays you like; do that for starters. You can then either edit these plays or create them from scratch. You can also do the same on defense. Some don't like this as they claim it is unfair. But I hate to see those run the same 5-10 plays over and over again. If your partner is the competitve type he would come back with his own playbook, especially if he feels that it gives you an advantage. To me this brings more strategy in the game for if you are a true gamer you would step your game up a notch rather than try to limit your opponenet. If Madden 2003-2005 didn't do such a lousy job of the Classic teams ratings then this feature would really be awesome because I would have a K-Gun playbook with 3 WR setup to play with the 1990-1993 Bills or a Run-n-Shoot with 4 WR setup for my boy when he plays with the Oilers. But since they gave too many guys high ratings on the classic teams strategy doesn't mean as much. Take for instance in Super Tecmo Bowl you had to find the correct plays to match your personell or you would either limit your production or get killed by putting players in the wrong position. Once they do a better job in rating players in Madden in more fields you see more of a similar effect for gameplanning according to your personell would mean a lot more... There is no better feeling in the world than to make a game winning play that you designed to take advantage of your boy's stupid play. Best example one of my boys in Madden 2003 loved to use his MLB to take away passes across the middle, no matter what defense he called and his MLB coverage assignment. SO I designed a play where the WR ran 5 yard outs and the TE an angle slant route to the left. I sent the FB on a deep route, which is usually the MLB coverage responsibilty when you blitz. In the 4th quarter I called this play and it worked just as I hoped, with Centers running free down the middle and I won the game. So play around with creating a playbook. Warn your buddy beforehand and tell him to step his game up; if he object's to it then at least create one for play against the PC and see the differnece; you'd be glad you did for over half the plays form most teams playbooks you don't even use!
