  1. Clapp's probably a downgrade from Bates as backup C/G. But so is his salary.
  2. Will Clapp is the new Rick Bates.
  3. Holder, now that's our true position in need
  4. Glad he's not on the Chiefs anymore.
  5. Will Clapp is the new Rick Bates.
  6. I think the reason the Bills chose to run in the red zone so much last season was based on it being higher percentage. They don't really have a red zone receiving TD machine. And that's exactly what I think Brian Thomas Jr. is. I hope Kincaid significant increases his TD's this season. Would love to see him in the 6-8 range. Anything more than that and it's all gravy. But I also think the Bills need a red zone monster. I'd support a trade up into the low 20's for Thomas Jr. I think he's really the vertical deep threat and Red Zone TD machine the Bills need to add to their chain moving receivers of Kincaid, Samuels and Shakir...
  7. If the Bills don't take a 1st or 2nd round receiver, Jermaine Burton is in that next group of wr's the Bills would be targeting. Like Tez Walker, Javon Baker, Burton, Brendon Rice. Those would be the Gabe Davis replacements as more physical x / deep threat boundary receivers. To have their pick of the third tier receivers they'll probably have to package some picks and move into the 3rd round... While Burton is the smallest of the 3rd/4th round x receivers, he might be the best deep threat.
  8. The way he was used in the second half of the season showed me that he can put up #2 receiver numbers in the coming years. The question is, how high is the ceiling?
  9. I've been thinking that there's a chance they want to replace Tre with a true #1 lockdown cb. Elam hasn't planned out and Rasul is only on a one year contract. And he might also be enamored with Burton as a deep threat.
  10. Schobel deserves respect. With his 78 career sacks, he averaged just over 8.5 sacks per year over his 9 year career. With four double digit sack seasons and a high of 14 sacks in 2006. Toohill's production this far makes him more comparable to Ryan Denney or Chris Kelsey.
  11. 4th is where he's projected to go. He gave up 8 pressures and 4 sacks last year. His weakness are being undisciplined at times in pass pro. I think that's something he can improve on with technique and coaching.
  12. Except Limmer's RAS is based on the Gaurd position, not center. He's the exact same weight as Humphrey and 3/10ths of a inch taller. So basically same body, except I think Limmer has a stronger core. Very close 10 & 20 yards splits, 3-come and shuttle. Creed has him by a hair. But Limmer's 36.5 vertical is impressive, as is his 39 reps. Check out his anchor against 360lbs Sweat:
  13. If he's there in the 5th, I think Beaux Limmer is the guy. Very similar athletically to Creed Humphrey, except he put up 39 on the press to Creed's 29 reps. He played mostly Guard, but filled in at Center this season. Need a guy that can anchor against the bull rush of elite DT's.
  14. I like Isaiah Davis and Isaac Guerendo if either of them are they in the 5th or 6th round.
  15. Curtis Samuel is a massive upgrade from Harty and McKenzie. And Hollins is a decent upgrade from Sherfield and Kumerow. Now we need Gabe Davis's replacement, and hopefully a 6th receiver as well. Because this team should be carrying 6 wide outs with Josh Allen at QB.
  16. Question: you've played with a mobile QB before in Can Newton. What's it going to be like playing with Josh Allen and his ability to extend plays? Answer: my job is to get open as fast as possible so maybe he doesn't have to scramble as much.
  17. Add to that the idea that many formations in today's NFL allow multiple receivers to lineup in "the" slot on either side of the field. So there's not just "one slot" or one slot receiver.
  18. Curtis Samuel is one of the best receivers at beating man coverage in the league. Guess what the Bills struggled with against good defenses? Beating man coverage. If you look at Mahomes stats, he gets around 1500 yards of production and 10 TD's per year from the bottom of his roster -- from receiver 7-15 (this is including all pass catchers). Josh needs MORE viable targets to throw the ball to. And more guys that can beat man coverage quickly.
  19. Samuel's best season is about as productive as Harty's entire career has been.
  20. Would have preferred Scary Terry... But this will do...
  21. What if Beane gets a #1 cb?
  22. Yeah but what percentage of Samuels targets are contested? Cause he's average catch percentage is actually slightly higher than Diggs'. He's not a jump ball player. He's a separator that specializes in beating man coverage and getting YAC... Also, he's not replacing Davis, imo. He's replacing Harty. Davis' replacement will come in Rd 1 or 2.
  23. This is Beane giving Allen more options to beat man coverage. Huge upgrade from Deonte Harty.
