  1. And Chung doesn't even have to be there!
  2. Beane very likely held out for a sixth after the Patriots started with a seventh.
  3. Bellichick is probably thinking, "I haven't been able to draft in about ten years, what the hell do I need another 6th round pick for?"
  4. Fair enough but practice and preseason are never played at full speed, and the difference between those two speeds and real bullets are completions and interceptions.
  5. Maybe they thought they were getting Jethro. Strong as an ox, that dude.
  6. So the Patriots are going to tie him to a chair under a single light bulb and threaten to kill him and his entire family unless he gives them secrets about their own offense? Daboll runs the Patriots offense.
  7. The thing is Bodine probably thinks this is the best day of his life. Yesterday I knew I was going to be cut and my career may be over, today the Patriots thought I was worth a 6th round pick to trade for. It doesn't guarantee a roster spot but on the brink of the season it probably does, as well as a whole season's pay at his existing contract.
  8. That is a tremendous trade. It not only gives us a 6th but makes the Patriots worse! Unless Ernie Adams and Bellicheat can put their sorcery to work on him. I don't think you can do that to everyone.
  9. If Tasker said that, they were close knit. He is always wrong.
  10. After they released him even though he wasn't on the team, the Bills are now going to try to stash him on someone else's PS. I'm tellin' y'all, that Beane is a genius!
  11. Arm strength is overrated IF you can make all the throws. A guy like Fitz doesn't have good arm strength but he can throw a deep out pass in the regular season. Barkley cannot. It's an enormous difference.
  12. And my work will be done and I can take the rest of the day off.
  13. I know it's only noon and 9 am on the west coast but you have to drink a shot every time they release a guy you never heard of.
  14. Is that the first time in history that a team released a player they didn't even have?
  15. It does, however, show how coaches can be hoodwinked by practice and preseason. Fitz would actually be a good if not very good starting QB in this league if he did not try to force passes so much in real games and write checks his arm can't cash. That doesn't happen in practice and preseason, so he can look great and beat out his competition in that setting. For the smartest guy in the league he throws the most dumb passes.
  16. He took a knee three plays in a row a couple weeks ago, and IIRC at least five times this preseason.
  17. Fitz was the 9th rated QB in the entire league last year with a 100.4 rating, 17 TDs and 12 INTs in less than half a season, and yes I saw all the bad Fitzy games. 14th in QBR and if he played the whole season he was on pace for 4800 yards. He led the entire league in yards per attempt by a lot at 9.6 which is ridiculous.
  18. The thing is, the preseason doesn't have real games. The poster said "beat out" many QBs, am delighted in practice and preseason he probably would. You wouldn't get the bad Fitzy yet.
  19. If you rewatch the Jets game he threw floaters all game, and got lucky with them several times. He could have had a few interceptions. He doesn't have the arm. He can get away with it sometimes, like did against the Jets, because he is smart. But he is the same guy he was on Philly and Chicago, and was chosen in the fourth round. He has everything you want except an arm, and they get killed in regular season games. The practice and preseason is Peterman 1.0
  20. There are some tough cuts. We need to keep Duke. Do we really need four RB? Everyone seems to think we will keep four, and we probably will, and sure, Gore and MCoy are old, but Singletary is not. Two of them would have to get injured in one game for it to be any real risk. We also may be able to get away with three safeties if Neal is one of six cornerbacks. He could also be the fourth safety.
  21. Actually, the wife of the guy who owned the Anchor Bar made them 14 years ago when some customers came in without headgear.
  22. There is no equivalent to experience in games. You can only learn so much on the sidelines. I wanted Josh to start from day one in OTAs, and I think he would be further along in his development if he did.
  23. Only if you count hands, routes, speed, awareness, YAC, knowing where first down and sidelines are, tracking the ball, release, fight, demanding safeties, and hand strength.
  24. I bet that's not even real cheese.
  25. Now that Teller is on another team, we could trade Zay for him.
