  1. All new OL except Dawkins, all new main receivers, all new TE and all new RBs. Started only 13 games or something. That's pretty impressive.
  2. That was great. Reminds me of the Yogi Berra (alleged) line when asked if he knows anything, he said "I don't even suspect anything."
  3. So it's either above average or Hall of Fame? There is no in between?
  4. I'm not a huge fan of Kroft but hopefully he will be a solid addition when he gets back. But I have really been happy with Knox and Sweeney overall, and Lee Smith has a distinct purpose, plus he made a terrific little catch today. The TE play versus the last couple dozen years has been good already.
  5. Young is one of the most underrated great QBs in league history. He could do everything Montana could except he was a way better scrambler and runner and roll out guy.
  6. I wanted him gone but he had a good game. Last week not so much except for maybe one.
  7. He had a lot more near perfect throws than misses and near misses. There are so many ways to look at these things. The one longer one that was caught by McKenzie was a little high. If he puts it right on the money it's probably a TD. If McKenzie keeps his balance after the jump it is probably a TD. But he made ten excellent throws today, and maybe 3-4 bad ones. The two rollout passes to Knox and Smoke were fantastic. He thread the needle a few times over the middle. The diving catch by Beasley was actually a great throw because a normal pass would have been blocked, so he changed his motion and threw it sidearm and it was not on the money but it was catchable.
  8. I was thinking Thor, Mother Teresa, that one fireman and the Most Interesting Man in the World.
  9. Until he is on your team and you watch every play he makes, it is hard to appreciate how good he is. Especially at this age. I love having him. Stats don't do him justice.
  10. I think that was Knox.
  11. Yeah, he's like Brady in a insane ability to slide a step or two to avoid guys. But if guys are right on Josh and about to tackle him he's incredible at not being tackled quite often.
  12. The stutter was ridiculous. I think he does it so effortlessly and quickly so often we get spoiled.
  13. Lorax had a sneaky good game, too.
  14. I admit I didn't like the pick either and I was wrong, although I also did not see him as much as the other four guys, but he won me over quickly with his personality and his competitiveness and then his play and attitude.
  15. It's not an easy question to answer. Brady is great at avoiding sacks but getting the ball out quick and stepping up or sideways. But he cannot get away from rushers quickly right in his face like Allen can. Rodgers and Ben, along with maybe Russell Wilson and Mahomes are all very good at it. But Allen eludes and breaks tackles and fakes out and outruns and sidesteps potential sacks as good as anyone, already. It happens all the time, even this year (although not nearly as often as last year). And he still holds the ball too long too many times, that is not what I am talking about. But the sheer number of tackles avoided he has that look like sure sacks is extremely impressive. He's also either one or two as far as running QBs, depending on what you think of Lamar Jackson, who doesn't even run much this year.
  16. And a missed FG. That saved three and maybe seven points. Terrific play. We are really fortunate to have those two safeties. Poyer is getting very good.
  17. Lee Smith catches those!!! That was actually a terrific catch on a bullet by Smith.
  18. I think part of the "conservative" criticism was somewhat on the groupings and the kind of plays, not the fact they were just running all the time. I remember saying a couple times we need to get the ball in Singletary's hands, and we need to go downfield. The Giants could not cover all day. We were very unpredictable in the first half. A couple of the play designs were inventive and worked. That seemed to disappear for awhile.
  19. That one, too. There really is not a QB in the league like Josh, IMO. He's far from great and not even very good yet, but he is on his way.
  20. There really is a lot to like about it, especially the fact that most of the players are new. The coaching seems better, the blocking is way better, the receivers are way better, the TEs are substantially better, the RBs are playing better.
  21. That long pass to Brown was a sure TD that Josh missed badly, and you're right, if he hits that there is little criticism. I still think we got a little conservative, and I didn't at all like kneeling with 47 seconds to go and two timeouts which was the beginning of the conservatism..
  22. The short pass over the middle I think on third down that Beasley made a diving catch on, the pass was going to be blocked at the line and Josh wisely changed his motion and threw it sidearm, eluding the tip. Really nice play all around.
  23. Every round?! That is clearly not worth it, you build through the draft. Everyone that knows anything knows that.
  24. Knox is a surprisingly good blocker for a tallish rookie TE. All of our TEs add to the offense, and we likely get Kroft back this week or next.
