Allen Town - This week's Fan article in BuffNews
Kelly the Dog replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a good nit to pick. I missed that. Thanks. I try not to say "we" when writing, here or even in conversations with other fans but it often sneaks out. I think fans waffle between the "they" and "we" perspective all the time. You're absolutely right though, we should stick to one or the other. Yeah, I was saying his success is not assured. That would have been better. -

I actually just titled it "Allen Town," from the cool area in Buffalo, and what I have on a tee-shirt I bought last year. The headlines are written by someone else. " What's the matter with the songs he's singin' Can't you tell that they're pretty lame After listenin' to a couple albums Well, they all start to sound the same So he tried to change his musical style He tossed all his ballads in the circular file Then he found the punk sound Breakin' ground all around It's still Billy Joel to me" - Weird Al Yankovic Pick your nits! I will pick one with you, how is he not destined to Canton yet, unless you think it is already determined he is not. -

It's amazing to me that he can still both rush the passer and play ST at such a high level at this stage of his career. -

Pleasant surprises through two weeks...

The scoring on long drives. The Red Zone scoring. The relative ease that Singletary has been able to break free into the secondary from both the blocking and his vision/decisions. The TE blocking all around. -

If you switched them on the teams, Mayfield would have got killed in Buffalo with no OL, WR, TE, RB, or blocking, and Josh would have fared much, much better with a lot more time, WR, TE, and run game. -

Of course, if what happened to the Jets happened to the Bills, we would be cursing Davis' Webb's entire extended family by now. -

Wow that was awful pass blocking. Garrett is tough but that was pathetic. -

That is true but it is also true that they made some horrible choices to begin with. -

I don't hate Mayfield and think he is pretty good, but I also think he was overrated last year. He made a lot of nice passes for sure. But he is blessed with great skill players and a very good line and often had all day. He also threw a lot of terrible balls. -

If there is an exception to every rule there would be an exception to that rule and there would be one rule without an exception unless of course the one rule without an exception was the rule that says there is an exception to every rule. It’s pretty straight forward. -

Yep. They have become the second most detestable team in record time. I'm rooting for a terrible game with a lot of mistakes and bad officiating, cheap shots and missed opportunities finally won late by the Jets because the Browns, Mayfield and Landry did something incredibly stupid that tears apart the team from the inside out. -

Kelly the Dog replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice write up as usual, Shaw. One thing I would take umbrage with is Smoke and Beasley run way, way better patterns than our WR of the last couple years. Crisp, with purpose, technique sound, plant, come back for the ball, and they get wide open often. That is not at all what we have been seeing. -

Gore was excellent yesterday. Very glad to have him. The sideline view of him bulldozing the Giant linebacker back into the endzone was awesome.
