Yep. Although those are going to happen. We do need better pass blocking for sure. That's kind of what I was saying later. he breaks away from rushers so often, so quickly, and with such seeming ease, that we take it for granted. Most QBs in the league are getting sacked twice as much on those plays, or throwing it immediately away.

Watch this on the Foster bomb to the endzone. It wasn't nearly as bad a decision as I thought while watching it. It was a good decision and a perfect ball, the safety just made a terrific play. https://twitter.com/Marcel_LJ/status/1176522951786749952?s=20 -

Maiorana's Report: Realism or Pessimism?

True but one way to look at it. All things considered, the Bengals scored 17 points, had only 306 yards, the Bills got three turnovers (officially four), the Bills ran and passed decently, and won the game. If that is sloppy we go 11-5 or so with that performance. -
I love Pinto Ron, just an undeniable amazing guy and fan. I always thought the condiments thing was stupid.

Be hurt, dammit! I genuinely do not understand the association that anyone puts on these Bills under Beane and McDermott and Pegula, with about two players from previous Bills administrations. There is no connection and no carryover. It's like not jinxing a no hitter; that's not actually a thing.

He just needs to retire with Morse, and Murphy, and Singletary. It's not worth it and I fear for his family.

If I HAD to bet, I would bet the Patriots win by 14, scoring late to make it look worse. But I don't have to bet. And anyone that doesn't enjoy the six days before the game starts is a personal killjoy. Now is exactly the time to dare to believe. The week is so much better after a win, obviously, but twice as good thinking we are 3-0, we haven't played our best yet, we are at home, we finally have a QB and some weapons and we can beat these guys.

Rational Thoughts 24 Hours-ish Later (Bengals)

Wholly true. They worked, what, three times out of four? Four out of five if you count the forward one to McKenzie? Five out of six if you count Knox? That said, the one that didn't I don't mind people complaining about because it was gimmicky and more so, third and one. If you have Josh and Gore, you should not get too fancy in a close game IMO. And yes, we would have said great call if it worked, but it didn't. That was not the time to call it. -

Absolutely. You cannot try to neuter him, or eliminate mistakes, it's a stupid strategy. You have to try to minimize them. -

Someone pointed out last night, which I agree with, is that on the Brown pass, and some others, he had a little room, so he was able to run around the defenders, beat them with his wheels, and then look downfield. In the grounding and interception he didn't have as much room and defenders closed on him fast, so he was going backwards and not around the defense. Thats when he got in trouble, trying to throw while backpedaling, even with the huge arm. It's tough in the heat of battle and pass rush to know. -

I just watched the entire game again and I would advise anyone who hasn't to do just that. Allen had a better game than I thought he did and I think he is getting credit for. We are so use to his scrambling and running that we take it for granted. He had ten very good escapes and runs over the course of the game, including three on the last drive alone. There were as many big drops or mistakes by receivers as the blatant mistakes he made, which were plenty. Tommy Sweeney probably needs to jump and catch that ball in the endzone which was just an insane play by Allen on the replay. The deep ball to Foster was not necessarily well advised because he wasn't open but it was an absolutely perfect pass that is a TD if the safety doesn't lunge and knock it away at the last second. Knox obviously had a great game but a drop that's a first and goal at the three. Yeldon's fumble cost at least three points. Allen was under a lot of pressure all game and constantly avoided the rush. Three times this led to bad decisions by him including the atrocious interception and bad decision on the intentional grounding which likely cost us three points himself. But he escaped so many times, over and over and over that I think a lot of us take it for granted. His running, too, was ridiculous in this game on several occasions.- 89 replies

He needs to drop way back to get sight lines. He cannot step up often because he cannot see. So he immediately tries to roll right.

How long before OBJ starts being a bigger idiot.

I would say almost all of Singletary’s good plays were East West.
