IMO that is a horrible example the writer used to say he holds the ball too long. Holmes runs a slow uncrisp route. The ball was there just after Holmes was ready to catch it, maybe a split second late. It wasn't much more if any than two seconds when he threw it and it was on target. He didnt at all look like he was waiting too long, he was waiting for Holmes to turn for the ball because it was a 6-7 yard pass and got there immediately. That's not a pass you can throw before the receiver looks, he'd never catch it.
Not really. But they targeted him for bombs three times against the Giants and at least twice last week. Part of it has just been circumstance. The deep ball against the Bengals was just a great play by the defense off the All-22. It was a sure touchdown on a perfect rope. During the game, on TV, it looked like he threw it into double coverage but he didn't.
I understand. I thought it was great he said it. But regardless of the blocking, when he is in that situation he can't throw it up for grabs as he is being brought down. It's indefensible, except, of course, by the defense.
After Bills wins on Sunday afternoon, Danny Gare used to fire up the Sabres players before the game by yelling that if we lose, the Bills players will get all the hot girls at Mulligans on Sunday night, which was the nightclub of choice back then.
It wasn't true though. That was on Josh.
Imagine in the film session when McD and Daboll are yelling "You just can't do that! Throw it away!" and Josh says "No! It wasn't me! That's on all ten of those other guys, too! Maybe 45 or even 52 of them!"
I would imagine a lot of them are. It mostly came from $17 donations and I saw a lot of tweets and the like from that kind of fan. But surely a lot of Bills fans who donated disassociate themselves from BillsMafia.
Funny little story about the Dawg Pound. The original dog pound guys used to bring in that dog house on their shoulders. It took a couple years IIRC for the cops to realize that 4-6 guys carried it in and two carried it out. That is because it held a half keg of beer. To the Browns credit, when they found that out they just made them sign a paper saying they wouldn't do it again rather than ban them from games.
