First, obviously there is the Harbaugh connection but Roman is known as a running game guy. Why would they want him for their passing game coordinator. And second, it just doesn't seem like Roman is a Hue Jackson type guy. Granted, when you are the head coach maybe he just wants a creative offensive mind to help carry out his vision, as Harbaugh did, and it worked for awhile in both college and the pros. Iirc Roman was a coach when Luck was at Stanford but wasn't in charge of the offense.

Sure. I totally agree with what you said. I just don't think that he is going to get the best opportunity, unless maybe Lynn gets a HC job. The next best thing would be to get a job where you already know and agree with the defense you're taking over, and it helps if they are not bereft of talent like most teams that have big openings do. So the Buff job, despite it's glaring downside - being the DC to the guy who used to be one of your proteges - might be the very best job for him not the worst. Obviously Washington is a better spot.

It would depend if he gets any offers to be a DC from a team with an offensive minded HC. There don't look to be many.

I don't automatically dismiss Bellichick disciples out of hand either. Although not many have panned out. The problem with them is that they succeed, IMO, in large part, because of certain Bellichick qualities that I think you just can't learn or take away. He's by far the best game planner in the league, he's the best talent evaluator as far as choosing players that fit his distinct systems, and he's an incredible motivator getting all of these guys on the same page and playing as a team on game day. Those are three incredibly important concepts that his disciples don't take with them, but helped them do their jobs to an extraordinary degree.

Some guys are just dicks, and others, can just be "a" dick for the most part. I think it's an important distinction and if we hire him we are getting the better kind.

At first I wanted Lynn as the lesser of evils, but because he's still under contract and may not get any of the jobs, my best case is Richard, with Lynn kept as the OC, and maybe Bradley under Richard if that's possible. I also think that combo of Richard and Lynn means Tyrod stays.

Yeah, his best bet bet may be to come to a defense coming off a bad couple years with some good players, and getting credit for rebuilding it quick (if, of course, that were to happen). Then Richards stays here and Bradley gets another chance down the line. His career, however, is more likely to follow the Schwartz timeline, and it's going to be awhile if ever before he gets another HC chance.

Just pisspoor defense. Inexcusable.
