You put Glenn at RT and keep Kujo at LT, the line coud improve substantially. Miller in year three should be better. Watkins healthy makes the WR corps automatically better regardless of the 2-3-4. Shady and Gilislee will return. Draft a good playmaker and it could be very good.
I know this question has been asked a thousand times but it hasn't been answered that same number: Who can you get to run that same 7th ranked scoring without Sammy Watkins offense?
There are only x number of top level position coaches available each year. Two or three sometimes is a lot. You have to lock them up or face real chance you could lose them.
That's something not really discussed a lot here. It's a lot easier to tolerate perpetual criticism if you're entertaining and clever and sometimes funny about it. If you're a miserable bitchy blanket wetter, it's intolerable.
I can't even believe they are considering it. I'm still a Whaley fan even though he's obviously made mistakes, but he loses my support if he blows this offense up. Unless he pulls off something unforeseen that nets us a solid starter. That's highly unlikely.
Vince Lombardi is famous for saying "This is a football." The greatest basketball coach of all time, John Wooden, started every season showing his players how to put on their socks and tie their shoelaces. So what.
I have no idea what they were discussing but any good GM thinks short, mid, AND long term, at all times.
I have been a Whaley fan but if they don't keep Tyrod, and don't have a serious trade for a serious QB, I have little faith left in him.
Cool. I will check my local listings.
On a serious note, Cooter seems like a rising star. I'm always very hesitant to hire a guy under a guy like that, as you often don't know what substantial part the QB Coach for example had in the rise of the player. As fans, we have zero idea. There may be coaches on the Lions that know something of that but I doubt they are parting with that information to the Bills or other teams.
