  1. Really terrific discussion and article. Everyone should read this.
  2. That doesn't make a lot of sense for a whole lot of reasons. Rivers going to SF.
  3. Even though they would likely be for glaringly different reasons, if Pegulas only gave McDermott two years to turn it around, like if they went with a rookie QB, it would be hard to get a top coach to come here after they jettisoned three straight coaches after only two years. Not that I believe they have him on a short leash to turn it around. But that would be tough to sell to anyone.
  4. But no matter what they do it won't go away until they start winning and making the playoffs. If the FO did everything to perfection the narrative would be "The Bills won the off-season!" but until they win and make the playoffs none of this means anything. And that would be totally correct. It doesn't, unless they win. But if you agree with that you must also agree that none of this coverage means anything. Which it doesn't. If they win, this dysfunction conspiracy all goes away. If they don't win, it will be something else to complain about. Granted, I truly believe that to win it all in this season, or even to get in the playoffs you need good ownership, good front office, good coaching and good players, all on the same page. I just don't think the accusations of dysfunction of the Bills by TBN had anything whatsoever to do with winning or losing.
  5. I'm assuming we have a much better defense and a terrible offense. The reverse of this year.
  6. Yup. No question. Although if TT did throw a TD (running it in himself or god forbid, handing it off, doesn't count, if he left more than two seconds on the clock for the other team to score, it's a loss. That loser Dak Prescott tied the game with two amazing plays with 36 seconds left but he's a loser. 36 seconds?! No 4th Q CFB stat for him. He can't put away a game.
  7. It's a lot of luck. It's been reported that the Cowboys liked Connor Cook better and would have taken him if he was available over Dak.
  8. If we get rid of TT and don't get a clear top 10-15 guy like Brees or Rivers ( not that I think we get either) we could easily be a 6 win team.
  9. Because I'm reasonable. Take things as they come. Going back a ways I hated the Jauron hire. Thought he sucked. Didn't think much of the Gailey hire but didn't think we had a shot at anyone good. He won me over for a while for making chicken salad out of chicken schitt but after awhile because of his defensive decisions he had to go. I didn't know much about Marrone so I gave him a chance and there wasn't anyone realistic I really wanted. I soured on him before halfway into his second season. I am the optimist as you know but I don't just rubber promo stamp anything. I was in favor of the Rex hire but soured on him quick, as soon as I saw we werent getting Rex. I will admit and have no problem admitting I like Whaley but that doesn't at all mean I like everything he does. I don't think Marrone or Rex was his first choice. I do think he backed both of them so he's complicit to a degree. He gambled on Sammy and I think it was a good move. I'd do it again. He's a star. It's not Whaley's fault he got hurt like there is some blame to be had for the Lawson pick knowing he was hurt. IMO there is a bunch of talent. Maybe 11-15 in league. If Rex didn't !@#$ up the defense we probably go to the playoffs either year. QB is an issue. If he doesn't get it right he needs to go.
  10. Considering that in the last year the Pegulas have given Whaley an extension and power to choose the HC while retaining the power of the 53, not to mention what Terry went out of his way to say in the interviews, the Pegulas aren't about to fire Whaley soon. If they tank, all bets are off. But there isn't any indication whatsoever that they are unhappy with him, unless you want to read into some stuff they said as bad (which they never said) and totally ignore other good stuff they said (which they did). I think he needs to produce quick, too. But I don't think he's on a one year trial basis in any way. If he screws up the quartback situation and the Bills finish 5-11, which is possible, then maybe.
  11. Childress has a long, long resume.
  12. Andy Reid runs the offense and calls the plays. I would say each of the OCs has less than 25% to do with the success or failure.
  13. Yep. And now I'm going to get the papers, get the papers. That's not the same thing as an ultimatum. It's the same thing you and I were thinking.
  14. I'm an ASU fan. I saw every game he played in college. He wasn't very good at all by the eye test and in big games. He was drafted high because he's big and has a very good arm. If he was Tyrod's height and Tyrod was Brock's height, Tyrod would likely have been a first round pick and Osweiler would not have been drafted. I don't know one ASU fan who thought he would be a good pro.
  15. It's very possible that a lot of fans here would say he sucks because he doesn't run as well as Tyrod. And not because they love Tyrod. But rather because they just like to complain. The real interesting question, with no answer possible that has any real veracity to it, is what Aaron Rodgers would have been like if he had been drafted by the Bills. Surely he wouldn't have got the coaching. Surely he would have been thrown into the fire as a rookie and not his fourth season. Eventually his talent would have rose to the top but I imagine it would more likely be the Steve Young trajectory, on another team, rather than the Bills having a franchise guy for 15 years. It's impossible to know.
  16. TT played substantially better in college and in both of his professional years as starter than Osweiler did. Osweiler was never good. TT has far more upside.
  17. Olivia Munn is right up there for me with the greatest woman. She is awesome in a lot of ways.
  18. Yep, and it's really the smart and only way to go. Unfortunately they haven't made good decisions yet. I love the Murray hire but everything else has been bad in retrospect between, Darcy and LaFontaine and Rex. You would say I imagine that keeping Whaley was bad, too. I liked him previously but am at the end of my rope with him if he jettisons Tyrod and doesn't have a solid guy in place. I agree with Terry though that he never gave Rex and Whaley an ultimatum. Terry said he would never do that and it would be ridiculous and I agree with him. There is zero reason to tell a coach or GM you get in the playoffs or you are fired. It's just stupid.
  19. That's a good and fair analysis. I think I would be more in favor of the veteran guy rather than the more risky guy. Because we have a first time HC who is a defensive guy.
  20. I really don't think we can learn much of anything from the Pegulas decisions with the Sabres. They both stayed with the status quo one time and they blew it up another. Plus the were several extenuating circumstances that influenced those decisions that aren't likely to happen in the NFL. They are conservative in nature and in their normal business and yet they like to make a big splash, like the Rex hire. They are both loyal and willing to make mistakes, of which they have made quite a few. So it's very tough if not impossible to make a prediction as to what they will do. I imagine they will just make decisions on Whaley as they go along.
  21. Okay so this was supposed to be an afternoon game, right? But because of weather they switched it to a night game? So the afternoon game would have been on CBS. But NBC has Sunday Night Football and it's probably in their contract that no other network can show games on Sunday Night. So the NFL was forced to show it on NBC and not CBS who basically got screwed but I assume will be monetarily compensated? Is that what happened?
  22. Yeah, I have no idea how the press works. My brother is one of the biggest media critics in NYC. I work in the entertainment business, but only for 30 years. I need other people to form my opinions. Fukk off. I had to ask FireChan this, but this please just refrain from responding to me for like, three years. You're a really smart guy and you ruin this board. It will be better if you don't respond to any of my posts. I won't respond to your utter nonsense. Win win.
  23. What a game. Crosby hits two 51 yarders under pressure. Cook catch was just filthy. Rodgers had, what, 36 seconds?
  24. Holy crap what a great play by Cook and great pass by Rodgers.
