He said the exact same things when he got the job. He's been saying the same thing forever. He's not going to think the team he put together needs to be completely rebuilt. That's a public admission he failed terribly.

That's ridiculous. He's not going to change his mind in two weeks. What he is going to do, regardless of its validity, is believe the guys he signed are good. Everyone in the world. He's not going to stock the team with his choices and then tell and sell Pegula on the fact we need a full rebuild. Pegula would say thanks for your honesty, we'll find someone else to do that Doug.

Thanks for that. Still not a lot of time in the league as a coach to develop an offense, identity and playbook. But I'd like to know more.

Don't know much about him other than remember him as a college and pro player. Just doesn't have the experience in the league as a coach for me, especially with a first time HC. Pretty big risk.

Okay, here is an analysis... Doug Whaley said "We are close" - specifically - verbatim - the same time as he allegedly implied we are in a full rebuild. That is a fact. We are close does not at all imply a full rebuild, just the opposite. Where there is fire there is fire.

I think it's fun to analyze what the Bills may or may not do. But there are precious few facts. Taylor is on the roster, in the building, talking to the new coach and working out on a daily basis. It's not at all a fact they are moving on from him. I merely made a point that this whole theory is six degrees of separation from six sources that rarely say anything of worth that we can bank on.

Are you talking about Chip Kelly, Jim Kelly, Megyn Kelly, or me... it's unclear.

The Bills have not not committed to Tyrod Taylor. That is also a fact.

No but a few other national guys like Rappaport and LaContortion (in that vein) said Olson was interviewing in Buff for the OC job yesterday, and if I'm not mistaken Chris Brown would tweet about Olson based on those reports, which always seemed bizarre to me. That's what I was referring to.

"Olson was in the mix to be the Bills' new OC, but apparently was getting passed over and will take a position coach gig with the Rams. Olson coaxed a big year out of Blake Bortles as the Jaguars' OC in 2015 but was canned by Jacksonville back in October after a horrid start. He was also instrumental in developing Derek Carr in Oakland as a rookie. Olson previously was the Rams' OC back in 2006-07 under then-coach Scott Linehan. Olson's next project is Jared Goff."

The Leafs have a little moreover talent, much better defense, are better coached, and have better goaltending. And if Eichel, OReilly twice, and Kane and Kulikoff weren't out of the lineup at all, but Matthews missed half the games and Marner and Mitchell and three other guys missed the same as our guy, they would be where we are and we would likely be close to where they are. But I agree they are better coached and have more raw talent and our defense stinks and Lehner has been lousy.

Really weird, but very interesting and pretty good overall.

I don't think there was ever a report that Olsen was offered the job. I would estimate that the vast majority of interviews in the NFL do not result in jobs being offered.

I'm not saying Childress is necessarily the guy, but I believe that the only reference to Childress being out is one Vic tweet that said after Olsen was scheduled to be interviewed that it "appears" that Childress is out. All other tweets seem to reference that one, not any kind of real reporting. So I wouldn't at all rule Childress out until further confirmation.
