  1. 1. Pennington is the only one to even be good since Montana. 2. Pennington only went so far and never really won anything. He wasn't a top ten QB.
  2. Yeah, Overdork will be gone.
  3. I love the Pegulas for buying the Bills and Sabres and putting their money into it and always will, like I loved Ralph for keeping the Bills here. But he is approaching Russ Brandon territory as far as not being able to believe anything he says in public. There were quite a few whoppers in there.
  4. I was a big Whaley fan for awhile. He started to lose me when he didn't want to keep Tyrod. Didn't like handling of Gillislee. Let's hope McD knows what he is doing. Most coaches don't make good GMs, too. A few do. Let's hope he's Andy Reed.
  5. I thought right away when Murray was fired from Sabres that it was a direct reflection of Terry watching McDermott and liking his take charge, no nonsense, disciplined approach.
  6. Yeah, I think Mahomes has a better chance than any of the other QBs to be great, and it's still a maybe 25% chance. At any one time there are only 10-12 people in the world who can be great at this job.
  7. 40 speed is very deceiving a lot of the time. It really makes no sense they even let these guys run on tracks without pads on. I can never really remember Andre Reed getting caught from behind. Acceleration is not pure speed but it's often the difference in a game. Zay is plenty fast.
  8. I knew a guy who was on the Bill Walton teams at UCLA that won three national championships in a row IIRC. A few of these guys only lost one game their entire college careers. The guy said he and Walton and every single member of their team, except one, smoked weed every day, including often before the games.
  9. There is an enormous difference in "not having a strong arm" which was Brees, and having an average arm, which seems to be Peterman right now. It seems like a semantic difference but it's really not. Guys like Brees obviously can succeed. Guys with weak or average arms cannot. There is some arguments over whether Peterman has just enough or just short of being enough. I am on the latter side, which is the only reason I'm not all over him. I think if he had the arm that Brees had coming out of college he would have been a number one pick. The reason people are saying career backup is because he has a weak or average arm.
  10. One of my all time favorite sports stories is Bobby Knight had a player on Indiana U named Landon Turner who was a good player but not great. The Celtics were his favorite team. After the season was over Turner got in a car accident and was paralyzed. I think for life. Bobby Knight, without telling anyone, called up Red Auerbach of the Celtics and convinced him to draft Landon Turner, which he did with the Celts last pick in the draft that year. Just a great thing that Knight and Auerbach did for the kid.
  11. Montana is the last QB with a below average arm to be good in this league and it's been 25 years, and the DBs are way quicker and faster now than then. It's very possible Montana now would not be nearly as good as he was then. People will say Pennington but Pennington never won anything because he lacked the arm. He had everything else and he still couldn't do it. If someone could post a video with throws that show Peterman has a strong enough arm, to "make all the throws," then I would like to see it. I have not seen a lot of him, but have seen him. Everyone says the knock on him is he doesn't have the arm. I'm still shocked that NFL personnel guys still believe players like Colt McCoy and Kellen Moore can play in this league. They can't. I don't see much more of an arm than those guys. Maybe he has a better one than that. If he doesn't he cannot succeed.
  12. He's not going to be handed the job. He is, however, going to be handed the ball.
  13. They couldn't be that dumb, could they? Not to mention that a lot of guys seem to get surprised their girlfriend or wife is caught cheating on them after the first time they slept with her she was cheating on her bf or husband.
  14. Me and Julio down by the schoolyard.
  15. Ha. If Daryl Dawkins wasn't dead I still think he could have made a decent RT, at least in the run game.
  16. I give it a B- I didn't really like the trade but that can only be determined by what they do with the two firsts. I like the Jones pick a lot. We may get three starters out of it but White and Dawkins could very well be very mediocre starters. The two baby linebackers will help on special teams but we drastically need a coverage LB and just hope one of them can do it in games. Peterman I said not a favorite of mine even though he will look good and fans will overrate him.
  17. I hope this guy becomes great and I am wrong. Some (few) do increase their arm strength over a couple years. The real problem to me is that he is going to look great in camp and in preseason because of all the great qualities he does possess, which cannot be underestimated. So fans are going to ge the big tease, kind of The Trent Edwards Syndrome. It is only in the real game when you see the guy cannot play in the NFL at a top quality level. Edwards had enough arm, he just couldn't deal with pressure. Peterman has a different problem but it is only in the real games when the arm thing gets exposed because the game is played at a different higher speed. And the pass that is completed in camp and preseason is knocked down or is intercepted in real games.
  18. He's been in a slump for quite some time now.
  19. 5th rounders are garbage. At least about 85% of them.
  20. I don't even think he made the Greatest Jewish Sports Heroes pamphlet.
  21. There wasn't one throw in that entire video that showed any real arm strength.
  22. Behind every silver lining there is a dark cloud.
  23. It's a small chance but it's a chance. The game isn't too big for him. He played on the biggest stage and he excelled. He's got a great arm. He has charisma and leadership qualities. He's fearless. He's huge. Whether or not he has the mental capacity to read NFL defenses and make good decisions under pressure in real NFL games is yet to be determined.
  24. We have three bigger slower guys in Lorax, Ragland and Brown. We desperately need a coverage LB.
  25. There was never any question about Russell Wilson. He has an absolute cannon for an arm
