ESPN guys last week tried to get Shady to badmouth Rex for being a buffoon and Shady brushed them off and said "I love Rex." And you can't say Shady didn't give 100% and do everything he could to win. Unless he sucks there is no question that they will. And unless he is very hurt he will not suck. He's one of the better players in the league.

GM Doug Whaley has been fired
Kelly the Dog replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Face it, Terry is a fan, he even admits it, and acts like one. He got inFATuated with Rex and giddily hired him. That wore off quick. So he held more interviews and got infatuated with the anti-Rex, Mickey Rat, who was a no nonsense, detail oriented discipline guy. So infatuated that he actually fired the Sabres general manager because he wanted his hockey team run by a guy like McDermott. Let's see if it works or this summer romance wears off quick, too. -

If you don't notice the seismic difference when Watkins is even 80% healthy and playing, and the times when Walt Powell or Goodwin is your top receiver, I have no interest in discussing football with you. http://nysportsbiz.com/2016/12/07/tyrod-taylors-numbers-withwithout-sammy-watkins-and-robert-woods-are-alarming/ -

Take Tyrod out of it, it's inarguable that the play of a team's defense has an enormous affect on the play of its offense. Bad defense puts offenses in consistently bad positions. Long fields. Less series. Having to play from behind. Loss of momentum. Good defense gives offenses shorter fields, sometimes drives they only need to go 10-20 yards, more plays, more series, more play options, greater momentum. There is no case against that. And there is no case that the Bills did not have a terrible defense. -

Tyrod? Under the circumstances, yes. He didn't have Watkins for 3/4 of the year. Some games he was throwing to Arena League players. The defense put him in terrible situations, so yeah, I think he was "pretty good." -

Actually Chan started Edwards over Fitzy. Let Edwards play like two or three games, saw he was horrible and then just cut him. -
RD 5, Pick 171: Nathan Peterman (QB) - Pitt

He wound up and threw it very slow though. It was bad. He also threw what could have been a backwards screen that was blocked by a DL that looked bad. I actually think he is really good, don't get me wrong, I just worry he has a rag arm. If he doesn't, he could be a Kirk Cousins, and that kind of player will last ten years in this league. That game, however, did not scream NFL player to me. I understand that some will say, under tremendous pressure, against a top team, he eeked out a huge upset, which is surely true. He threw five TDs I think. None were wow throws. But one was a great lob in the endzone. Another was a very nice dart from ten yards between a few guys. Both excellent throws. One was a shuffle pass although he did it nicely (several times he worked the shuffle great and it's a play I hate). One was an easy throw to someone that was not covered at all. Can't recall the fifth. That's a very good fifth rounder. -

His worst one, by far, was a weakly thrown WR screen that should have been a pick six but was just broken up as an incompletion. He threw some jump balls that were very bad passes. Gunned a few from four yards away. Missed open recievers 15 yards downfield and one or two longer ones. And again, he made some great throws. It was his best game. -

Yeah he was under attack the entire game. Welcome to the Bills. -

He made some great throws and plays. It was his best game ever! He also made a dozen terrible throws and several horrible plays. Some of his incompletions were great throws and some of his completions were bad throws. He made a lot of bad throws and a lot of nifty ones. Watching it, I would never say this screams NFL QB though. At all. Watch it. It's every pass play, including ones he ran on, some of which were very nice. -

I watched the full game against Clemson. The Youtube with every pass play back to back to back. His best game ever. He threw over a dozen absolutely terrible balls. So many. -
The funny thing about Brandon to me is, I don't want him remotely making any kind of football decision whatsoever, under any circumstance. And yet, if I were owner, I would let him be in some of these meetings, keep him happy, throw him a bone, let him know what the team is doing and thinking so he feels a big part of it for his own ego. I see nothing wrong with that. Except, and this is a big one, if I thought that Russ was behind some of the very damaging leaks and misinformation that has come from OBD over the last few years, which I think is possible. if I had reason to believe that I would keep him away.

That's what I think, too. But then again, I see people I think can;t be that dumb doing that dumb things all the time.

I don't see that at all. McD seems like a very straight shooter and details, disciplined guy. The everyone competes guy. He's going to go into this exactly as most every new coach would. Everyone has a clean slate. He's going to give TT first shot and TT is going to blow all of those guys away playing with the first team, except for Yates, who will show exactly what he always shows. It's not even going to be close. Once the season starts, it's all up to Taylor. If he plays lights out or very good he stays. If he plays just pretty good (like last year) or average they will draft a guy #1 next year. -
McD and Beane could go to the league and just say, "Do you really believe we could be that dumb?" Then again, the league might say, "WE are! All the time!" And bust them.
-
I still think it's Beane and a done deal. Veach is the other possibility.
