  1. Well, Carroll is one of the best coaches and smartest guys in the league, and had TEN TONS of experience before getting the Seahawks job. So if McDermott is one of the best coaches in the league and knows personnel, too, with zero experience, then we'll be great!
  2. Yep. He's the man now, and even though anyone may not like the way he is acting, or it's too much to bite off, or other guys and teams it hasn't worked for, he is our guy and this is how he works and the buck stops here and we don't know how it's going to turn out yet. No one does. But the best thing in the world for a Bills fan to happen is if this guy is right. And that's yet to be determined. So go McD!
  3. Absolutely right. The Bills should do what the Jets did.
  4. Already wished him one, but... hbjw
  5. Agreed. It's what I don't get either. He's an incredible talent even when not 100%. And he's shown it. And he showed it in college. He's a superstar. Let's get rid of him.
  6. If he is healthy this year, the chance of a re-injury goes way, way down. This is a fixable injury. Several players have come back 100% and excelled. It's not likely that this goes on into the future, unless he is not better this year, and all signs point to him getting back. Sure it's not 100%. But unless the docs are seeing something we don't know about, he should be back. at 85% he was uncoverable.
  7. He's young. A couple three years ago, Fitzgerald got 126m and Megatron 113 or so. Not sure how much guaranteed but it's going to go up. That's why I ballparked 50m more guaranteed. He's going to get a lot more than 4-60.
  8. I'm not sure how McD is going to turn out. I like him. I'm an optimistic fan. But I have watched the NFL for 50 years. There is an endless series of former coordinators that get bumped up to HC because they are great at their coordinator job, and then they are not great HC because they dont concentrate on the one thing they are great at that got them the job in the first place. First time HC also often bite off more than they can chew. McD is taking on everything. Let's hope he can do it.
  9. Two tag years would be about 35m guaranteed. Then a long term extension would be about 50m more guaranteed. So in three years, you would have 85m guaranteed. Relatively limited...
  10. It's not easy normally. But I think because of the kind of guy McD is, and the culture change he is trying to install, it would be easy. McD would say I want people that want to be here. I'm not predicting this. What I predict is Sammy is going to be fine and have a monster year and the Bills will try to sign him to a huge extension. If we have a good passing game and they don't ignore him like they have before I think he will be happy. I just don't know at all what is in his head. Or what kind of year we are going to have on offense. If they do what they need to do to get him the ball. What picking up the option means is we don't have to worry about that for an extra year. What not picking it up means we have to worry about that now.
  11. Well it's well chronicled that Marv was how I described. In fact, myself and a lot of others are convinced that the reason we lost all those Super Bowls was BECAUSE Marv was such a delegator and should have taken more control and got rid of the defensive coordinator. On his first day on the job, one of the very first things Mickey Rat said to the question of whether he is going to concentrate on the defense was something to the effect of "I'm going to be deeply involved in everything. I'm going to spend a lot of time on the offense and every aspect of this team. And now we know he immediately took control of "one voice" for the organization, and took control of the draft, and every single GM prospect out of ten rumored has been a non traditional GM that would have control over the roster but an up and comer who would be under McD. So he's just like Marv.
  12. Because is you picked up the option he can't say no. For two years. If you tag him he can say no.
  13. We know what he can bring to the trainers table.
  14. Because he can easily say no. If we picked it up we have a minimum two years.
  15. That's the only thing that would make sense. That the recovery is not going as hoped or expected. But everything reported so far by everyone, even as late as yesterday, has been he's right on schedule and will be ready for camp.
  16. You mean as in Marv was a delegator who let his coordinators run both the offense and defense themselves and let his GM get him players just like McD wants total control and runs his defense and wants to be in the offense and demands he picks his players himself?
  17. McClain knows his stuff. One of the most wired in guys in the league. If he gives this guy high marks it's likely true.
  18. Yep. Or just use one of those electric dog collars.
  19. If they picked up option they would have this year AND next to find out if he's worth 100m. Now it's just one. Yes they can tag him but he can force his way out. If they picked up option he couldn't. Bad move.
  20. He probably meant one in a third of a trillion. So it could easily happen again.
  21. I definitely wanted this as soon as I saw he was cut. Would be terrific signing considering no TE early in draft.
  22. Got it, thanks. I thought the poster was saying he finished his undergraduate in three years at Pitt, and I knew he was at TN for at least two. He actually was at TN for three years, 2012-2014, and Pitt for two, 15-16.
  23. No, but that sounds better than my snarky joke. So thanks!
  24. I havent in a long while. Didn't Ahab harpoon a couple whales?
