  1. Well neither me, nor Demetrius, are Mother Teresa, but he really turned his life around, especially recently. And I always thought it was definitely as good for me as it was for him. He was a great little kid.
  2. So about twenty years ago I was a Big Brother in the Boys and Girls program in Phx for this little black kid, Demetrius, who was six at the time. I did it for six years, took him everywhere. He was awesome. I got him into Little League football and all kinds of other stuff. Then when he was 12 I moved to LA and he moved with his mom back to Virginia and we lost touch for awhile, even though we both looked for each other, but several years because of Facebook, we reunited and we talk all the time. He became quite a good high school football player, and made all league as a senior. So a few days ago he texts me to say hi, and that he is coaching little kids football this summer, and thought of me, which was cool. Then he said "And I know you love the Bills and Tyrod Taylor is helping me out sometimes." And I was like no way! So he sends me...
  3. Wide Receivers. It's what's for dinner. I actually think the Ravens will go after Decker, too, and cut Wallace. They don't need both Wallace and Maclin, and may even cut Wallace if they don't get Decker. If I'm the Bills, Wallace does for me what I would have wanted Maclin for.
  4. Rumor has it, after reading this thread, Maclin has got a big head.
  5. Steven Wright said he "was pretty sure it was a guy named Eddie.
  6. Welcome to the 90s with your IBM Thinkpads and Radio Shack computers hitting the F5 key. How about hitting the little half-moon arrow in the upper right corner of a smartphone or tablet.
  7. I'm not a huge Decker fan but I think he is good. Just not top tier. But there should and will be a lot of options for him. He's just not going to get a huge payday this year. If I were him, I would think about a team that may lose a lot, and be behind a lot, and therefore have to throw a lot, where he can put up some numbers to show he is still relevant. I don't know why that still works but it sure seems to. Balt would be a good spot for him. In fact, his interest in them could actually help our interest in Maclin.
  8. One of the very best in the biz. That is an element to this for sure.
  9. The only offer I know of on the table is for $10.
  10. Maclin is a free agent now. If a trade were made for Decker, the making the trade would assume Decker's basic two year 14m deal, with none of it guaranteed, although one could easily argue the first year would be guaranteed because you are not going to trade for and then release a guy like that. Maclin is reportedly looking for what amounts to exactly that two year 14m deal with some guarantee. Maclin is probably not going to get a guarantee more than that because no one is going to give him a huge long term deal at this point in the game, coming off a down year and injury. If the Bills said two years, 14m, 7m guaranteed, Maclin would likely say hold my beer and gimme a pen.
  11. If you offered that same deal to Maclin though, he would take it, and he is a better option than Decker for the Bills. Plus we save the 6th or 7th.
  12. From everything reported, and we obviously never know for sure what is true and what is spin and what is total speculation, the Bills and Maclin were very close on a deal. The Bills didn't offer everything that he wanted. The Ravens came in and told his agent we are very interested, too, and will come close to Buffalo's deal and Condon said not so fast to Maclin signing. The Ravens may also be messing with the Jets, implying they won't trade for Decker they will entertain Maclin instead. It's all poker every time with these things. I still think we get Maclin and the Ravens get Decker and keep Wallace.
  13. I think that outsiders would say that the Bills need a solid possession guy to go with gamebreaker Sammy. We, and the Bills, likely feel we have that in Zay Jones and we want a deep threat to complement Sammy and Zay, allowing Jones to play the slot as a rookie.
  14. Maclin is just being smart. The Ravens really don't need him. Decker for less fits them better. If they sign Maclin I think they release Wallace who would fit the exact same role for Bills that Maclin would. The Bills don't really need a guy that's going to catch 80-1100-10 although obviously everyone and every team wants that. Maclins not going to do that. The Bills need a serious fast veteran threat on the outside to take pressure off Sammy and allow the rookie Zay to play slot and reduce pressure to put up numbers and beat starting corners outside. I still think we get Maclin, and the Ravens get Decker, we just will pay a little more because Maclin did what his agent wanted him to do, and what WR coaches want him to do, play this out til the whistle.
  15. There is a lot of crappy food in Buffalo. I think he would be dumb not to go to Balt and drive up the price a little. I still think we have at least 50-50 chance to sign him.
  16. Thanks for this. The clarity of these kind of pictures are amazing these days. If you look close, at the fourth window from the left, you can make out Tyrod and Shady on board. They're making a big push.
  17. Seems just common sense that if you are not close to 100% it would be impossible to create the necessary development and chemistry with a QB considering that is completely based on timing and knowing where you are going to be in and out of your cuts. If you practice hurt and run 80-90% that wouldnt create chemistry.
  18. Beane has been pretty impressive so far. That seems like a good get and piece of the puzzle.
  19. Explain to me why, just because you're close to someone, and talked a lot of football with them, and have similar philosophy about the game, and consider them a good friend, you're going to agree on the merits of players? I violently disagree with my closest friends I grew up with, on here, and I watch games with now all the time. It's natural. Not to mention the guy in charge never was responsible for signing players in his life.
  20. My favorite ending of a game. Mostly because Hooks made the two great plays and not one. He was a really good player who wasnt used enough.
  21. Most white people got degrees in White People Studies for the last few hundred years. Nice work, Mr. Jones.
  22. I honestly don't know what I think about this. It's impossible for me to believe any doctor anywhere would tell a guy like Aaron that it's okay to play NFL football, the way Aaron Williams plays, if there was ANY likelihood he could or would suffer permanent damage. To me if a doctor thought there was a 5% chance they would advise him not to play. I know these guys never want to give up, but I really can't see him trying to play if his wife, dad, doctor, agent, friends, family, etc, said there is a real chance you will be really hurt. Everyone knows what we do and more.
