  1. After a little reflection it's understandable what Beane and Opie are doing, I just don't think it's the right move. They are going way overboard on character and culture to the detriment of talent. You need both. Sammy clearly rubbed them the wrong way and they made a choice that they weren't going to re-sign him. Newsflash, a WR has a big ego and says some questionable things. This was all about making a statement and bringing their own guys in and building a long term team. It may or may not work. Right now, it's a bad move IMO. Wasting what is likely Kyle's last year. Maybe not being able to truly evaluate TT in the most important season. Getting rid of star players. Banking on your own ability to do something you have yet to prove you can do under anyone's standard. They are looking for a certain kind of player. I can't really think of a team where that has really worked, meaning we want 53 high character guys and we will jettison better players with less character.
  2. Nope. But I'm all over the extraordinary possibilities of Chris Hogan against EJ Gaines.
  3. They have made numerous wise decisions and numerous bad ones for quite some time. Far better than Bills though. I hate these trades. Although if you trade Sammy you need a decent starter. Matthews is a decent starter. I feel bad for Kyle and Shady and Tyrod though.
  4. They started slowly but then tapered off.
  5. To anyone saying there is no way we were going to pay Sammy you're also saying there is no way we are going to ever win. You need stars to win and you need to pay star players.
  6. A second round pick and an iffy CB for Sammy fukkin Watkins?!!!! I think maybe Bellichick made this trade.
  7. Tolbert is a very good cog player. He will see some solid action each week. He's very reliable pass blocker. Decent short yardage and goal line guy. Can still move upfield. Pretty good hands. Can play FB in pinch. We can just dress four backs counting FB with him on game day roster. Very glad we have him. Opie loves players like him.
  8. By the way, Peterman did not throw one pass out of 25 that either proves or disproves or sheds any light whatsoever on his arm strength issue. You cannot tell if an NFL QB has adequate arm strength on a 15 yard pass. He looked like he had the rag arm as advertised if only because he didn't throw downfield. I don't expect him to though. It's not his game. Showed a bunch of nice things. Did not show any arm strength. Let's hope he can be one of relatively few that can build it up over a few years.
  9. The irony is Jimmy Two Times saying he didn't hear something once.
  10. I thought he was decent. About what I expected. He has very nice throws and just as many poor ones. Made mostly good decisions. He didn't throw one pass that showed me the arm strength I need to see. The TD pass was a beauty. For a first outing he wasn't bad.
  11. Yarborough was the brightest spot of the game, along with JWill. Even regardless of the sack, he had a bunch of nice plays and just looked the part. He's a huge surprise and it's great that his first game matched his training camp hype.
  12. I thought he looked very slow and didn't have the quick decision making and first step that he showed in college and that he has to possess because he doesn't have the great foot speed. I have to think it's lingering affects of the injury.
  13. I'm thinking they may have some trouble with ball security.
  14. Can black people have high motors? I thought that wasn't allowed. Maybe they changed it when I wasn't looking. Good read. Gotta root for the kid. He sure has a chance with our lack of depth and a great DL coach to learn from who likes him.
  15. Fair enough. I would bet anything he has illegal dealings that will be uncovered. They may not be so egregious for a normal prosecutor to try to indict a sitting President. My disagreement with you may be that I think there is a very good chance that Trump will piss off Mueller and his entire team so much - by publicly lying about them and disparaging them - that they intentionally stick it to him more than they would an Obama or Bush or Clinton if they did the same thing. And it will be wholly Trump's azzholiness at fault.
  16. I think they were discussing something a little different than the common footwork and timing of passes goes. They were talking about how your feet were the inner clock and not your eyes or your head. And the placement of your feet was the trigger to throw, not seeing the break or the receiver or the anticipation of where the receiver would be. Like trust your feet not your head.
  17. He won't need to pardon himself. Pence is such a scumbag that they will have a deal in place. It's one of the reasons I strongly believe he will quit. Pence can pardon him after the accusations come out but before a trial or conviction would take place. So Trump will be able to lie and say this was all a witch hunt and he didn't do anything he is accused of, and he's doing this because Washington and the media are so bad and he's doing it for his family and the country. For once he will be right, doing it for the good of the country.
  18. That has been my prediction for the last three or so months. I don't think there is any collusion (although I don't know), but I think that financial records revealed will show he doesn't have what he says, he was involved in very shaky, illegal deals, he doesn't want to be impeached so before his term is up he will just quit before that happens.
  19. Where is Dennis Rodman when the country desperately needs him?
