I think the Rams sign him to long term. There are guys that are brittle who get hurt a lot. There are guys that play recklessly or stupid that get hurt a lot. There are guys that don't take care of themselves that get hurt a lot. And there are guys who are just unlucky for awhile. Sammy is the last one. He's going to be a superstar. He's that good and we screwed up.

They just said he put on ten pounds in off season. He's probably 215-220 now. And only 20. He looks plenty big enough to me.

I still think the Bills got fleeced. Sammy was worth much more than that. But from each team's perspective of it being a good deal for them = 100.

From the Rams perspective, getting Sammy and a 6th is 95 + 5 = 100. From Bills perspective getting #2 and Gaines is 55 + 45 = 100.

That's just not true. He never went to free agency. He likely could have got more money elsewhere. Plus you're dead wrong. It's not just about money. It's about money and winning and franchise and coaches and city and family and teammates and every player has a different hierarchy of those things, and a players own hierarchy of those things change over time.

It's almost embarrassing to ask Kyle for a pay cut. Sure he's been paid well over the years. But the heroic effort and production and especially loyalty to the team and city and franchise should have the new regime kissing his feet not asking for money back.

There is an interesting and damn good Irish series on Netflix called Jack Taylor. They took a series of crime novels with the same character and made 8-10 episodes but they are all full movies. Like an hour and a half each. Really good idea. I've watched four and liked them all. About an aging ex cop who is now a reluctant private eye who is always in trouble himself. Set in Galway.

He's actually a terrific guy. I have spent a lot of time with him over many years.

I said this before here but I expect the Bills offense to look a lot like the 2005 Broncos when Jake Plummer was pretty good. They were efficient. A lot of rollouts and naked bootlegs. Tough to gameplan against. Between Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell they had about 2000 yards.

When the Bills played the Lions my Game Pass feed had the Detroit home team announcers. Chris Speilman was the analyst. He was pretty good. I've liked him on college games before too. Great college player. Great pro player. Great teammate. Great guy. Good announcer. Don't see that very often.

How can you honestly say it is not far off base? The Pats have three Bills. Hogan, Gillislee and Gilmore. Hogan would be #3 or #4 at best, Gilislee is surely a backup to Shady, and then there is Gilmore who is better than our starters but may or may not be worth the money. Hogan, Gilislee and Gilmore are better than Shady, Glenn, Incognito, Wood, Clay, Matthews, Tyrod, Hughes, Kyle, Dareus, Hyde, etc? Really? It was a gratuitous, ridiculous thing to say, and something beneath a decent guy like Michaels.

To me this is amateurish GM and management in charge. There is not only no reason for it but wasted money. You don't think we could sign someone for $2.5m that would make us better? It also implies that somehow Shady has been holding back, and there is some extra gear he has he hasn't activated before, but will for more money. That's ridiculous. Sure he will be happier. But we already did that for him. And again it implies to everyone on the team, that if you achieve individual goals you will rewarded. I love Shady. This is not smart for the team. What if he needs 25 yards in the last game to get a million dollar bonus? That is not going to change the play calling?

Who might be smarter, and understand defense and what players are worth, if you had to guess, you or Bill Bellichick?
