  1. I read a lot on my iPad through kindle and I listen to a lot of unabridged audiobooks. And the LA public library has a huge assortment. It's a great way to get books immediately. As soon as I saw your post I went there and did a Tosches search for the book. I panicked when the second one listed was "Under Tiberius." I debated whether I should actually continue on. They didn't have the Dean book but I snagged the audiobook to "Me and the Devil" which looks like my kind of stuff. I will look for Dean book elsewhere.
  2. Who let Joey Bishop into that gang anyhow? Although, granted, I did once see Johnny Carson ask Joey Bishop if he talked to his wife during sex and he said "Sure, if there's a phone nearby."

  4. I saw that before. It's sick. He's a special player. Maybe two years away but can't wait for him. I am excitied about Guhle for the future, Nylander has a ways to go to impress me, but this guy looks terrific.
  5. Just another liberal trying to take away my 42 guns! Guns are fun! Killing is fun!
  6. He's clearly a better billdozer than Tolbert. He should get the backup RB carries.
  7. Captain Jack should get you high tonight.
  8. Bob Dylan loved him some Tom Petty.
  9. But I miss the "I know what we don't know" dude.
  10. One thing we don't know yet, because Opie's has only been the head coach of four games at any level in his life (preseason doesn't count), is whether he has been playing things so close to the vest because that is what he believes and he isn't going to stray, or, does he take each game as it comes like he should and a lot of good coaches do, and the way they have played out so far have all been close so he didn't need to,open the offense up, he didn't need to blitz more or take chances more on defense, he didn't need to do anything other than play this one score style of game. I'm not sure either way. He seems slightly conservative but I'm not at all convinced that this is how we are always going to play. This allegedly impossible to sustain way.
  11. The funny thing is that Hauschka missed six extra points last year. And four the previous year.
  12. Ties an all time record of once in a row that you don't have a strong opinion on something you know or don't know.
  13. My personal opinion is that CBS and FOX are just going to collide and decide not to show McD clapping on the sidelines the same way that FOX just announced they would not be showing the anthems in the future.
  14. Any player any poster talks about needs to be put through the good citizen, high character, no issues player that McDermott and Beane clearly only want. That's not a criticism of them, it's working now. But they are simply not going to consider anyone that doesn't fit that. So it's foolish to even consider or mention anyone that doesn't fit that model.
  15. He still only had, what, 21 attempts? I think it's more of a game by game, quarterback by quarter, drive by drive decision. In the first game they were running well and it seemed like we ran a lot more. The last three, especially Carolina and Denver we just couldn't run at all, so I'm sure that had a good deal to do with that. Against the Falcons we were doing okay in the run game but we finally had some guy so open in the pass game and Tyrod was making plays. I still think the slow transformation to that old Bronco offense with a lot of rollouts and bootlegs changed the way the defense plays us so allowed the passing game to work a lot more efficiently.
  16. Wasn't 4Chan an idiot toxic poster here?
  17. Last year Lehner was just abysmal in the shootouts, and yet in the games he was usually great against clear breakaways. Stopped them on a regular basis. Not always of course but he was very consistent. It didn't make any sense. It was akin to kickers in the NFL who missed a bunch of extra points but never miss 33-35 yard field goals.
  18. Sure. I just think early bailing from five yards deep in your endzone because sometimes you can't see defenders and it's possible for a safety or even a defensive touchdown is a completely different category than bailing early when not in your endzone.
  19. People need to watch this. Not sure if it was discussed elsewhere. https://twitter.com/salsports/status/915571160754135040
  20. Black Creek Village. Look it up. Not to be confused with Black Creek Pioneer Village.
  21. One thing that seems uniquely Buffalo in my experience is buying strangers drinks when you just met them at a bar. No one seems to do that outside of Buffalo. Doing it to hit on a girl doesn't count. I do it all the time and people look at me like I'm nuts. Which of course I am.
  22. Great stuff, and thanks, as usual. Personally, I dont think you can "bail early" from unforced pressure after you have stood for over two seconds in your own endzone. Maybe pressure wasnt there yet but I never want my guy just standing back there looking around. If I recall correctly that was third and long and he ran OB at the five. That is not an unforced error to me. But you are usually very fair in your opinions to me. Totally agree. Endless times passes look right on the money deep when a WR tracks the ball cleanly and runs to it perfectly. That's a specific skill. Other times a ball looks overthrown a foot or two but if the WR tracked it quicker or more correct it would have hit him in stride. I'm a little worried about Zay in this regard. Not sure about K Clay and tracking that bomb.
  23. Even better. He's going to be insane this season. He's one of those few guys in any sport that has insane talent and the overachiever gene and drive to be better, to be the best and to prove people wrong. I think he has the Brady and Thurman fire in his belly to prove everyone wrong, and that he's as good as McDavid, even if he's not.
