  1. People act like the Bills didn't know they needed a QB. The reason the Bills don't have playoff appearances and the reason they don't have a franchise QB are the exact same thing. They repeatedly chose the wrong guy to both run and coach the team. They had a process and all kinds of scouting and I'm sure hundreds of meetings over the years addressing it and spent a lot of resources, they just chose the wrong guy to be in charge who chose the wrong guy to the be the QB, and had bad luck as well.
  2. There is no good way to do it and no sure way to do it. Teams that have franchise quarterbacks got those guys with a combination of good scouting/drafting/signing and an equally important boatload of luck. The Bills didn't do it wrong as much as they just didn't pick the right guy. Sure they could have drafted more quarterbacks but 90% of drafted quarterbacks fail. Nix liked Russell Wilson a lot but for some reason wanted TJ Graham more. We wanted to get Big Ben, too. 23 teams passed on Rodgers. The Cowboys wanted a different guy but someone else took him so they settled for Dak Prescott. Both Brees and Daunte Culpepper were injured when FA started and the Dolphins chose Culpepper, leaving Brees to sign with the Saints. The ways these teams got their franchise guy are all over the board.
  3. I think he quit on the Bills and I said that a few times. But that said, the Bills could have cut him - walked away from him - after those two weeks, too - with no warning like him - for a good or a crappy reason like him - and he would get no money - and be left high and dry. So what is the diffrence?
  4. Too many cats on the field! Five yards. It's funny how he got OB and then stopped.
  5. Both are true. Eric Reid approached him to kneel. They talked about it. Then spoke with a Green Beret. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/25/opinion/colin-kaepernick-football-protests.html
  6. I think he got a small signing bonus and gave it back.
  7. I have yet to see a reason for that. To me, that one is appalling by him. I see no reason for it. I never heard him talk about it but I agree with you on that one. No reason. He should be highly criticized for that. His teammate Eric Reid told him he should kneel not sit on the bench. That is what I read. Not sure.
  8. He was talking about the issue with reporters a year before it came to light through the media. It wasn't a quick decision. He also sat on the bench a couple games and no one said a word. A teammate told him he should kneel and then he did. It wasn't even his idea.
  9. I think the refs were pissed at Kiko even though they didn't throw him out. Pretty much every close call has been against the Fins. Not that the Fins aren't deserving but it's hard to see three calls against the Fins and none against Ravens.
  10. I agree with most of that. But contracts are not guaranteed. The Bills could cut him at any hour, without notice, or reason for that matter, and he doesn't get that contract. And he can walk away, too, at any time and he doesn't get that contract. Which he did. I think he let the Bills down. But I'm trying to look at it from his perspective.
  11. I understand and of course that was outrageous. But the Bills might have made a commitment to him. I highly, highly doubt if they had already traded Sammy and Darby that Boldin would have signed. The word around here and around the league was that it was a good trade for the future and not so good for short term. He signed for one last chance to go to the playoffs and to mentor Sammy and Zay. Then a week later they traded Sammy. And our offense looked awful. And he thought I no longer have two of the three or four things I signed up for.
  12. Agreed. But you said it's automatic. Ha.
  13. Of course. But if you slide one foot away from a charging defender he can't stop in time because when he is going to tackle you you have t slid yet.
  14. I agree it was a dirty hit. I was just disagreeing that every time a QB slides he shouldn't be hit period.
  15. I think it's very possible he was told by the Bills we don't want you.
  16. Let's say you moved into an apartment and your landlord said everything is included. And then a week later your landlord said we traded your kitchen to a dude in Los Angeles for an extra toilet and a small den you get in a year. You no longer have a kitchen. But most everything is still included.
  17. I don't know if that's true. I agree sometimes it's impossible to stop. My problem was that whether or not Flacco slid, dove head first, or never went down, akiko went full speed head first at him. The fact his shoulder hit first was only IMO because of the slide to the side. Otherwise it's helmet to helmet because Kiko led with his helmet. It was a dirty hit. Plus, yes he was trying for the first down and likely knew the yard line to get to. But the players don't see that yellow line. As soon as Flacco knew he would be hit he slid. It was late. If Kiko just ran right through him and not tried to take his head off it may not even have been a penalty.
  18. He led with his head. At full speed. Flacco' slide made the hit look like it hit his shoulder first. But he led with his head.
  19. That was helmet first, too
  20. Yep. They should be pissed.
  21. Could we get Kiko back for Shady? That would be a good trade.
  22. Sweet! Kiko gets burnt. Perfect.
  23. The way the helmet was ripped off his head it probably cut his ear just by shave.
